  1. You can't really blame China too much though. 1/6 of the world live there, and it's going through it's industrial revolution. When the UK and America for example went through their revolution, they used a heck of a lot of fossil fuels. But it's hard to not use them. And remember, you need to go through an industrial revolution to be able to afford new technologies such as hydro-electric and geothermal power. And am I taking this too deeply?
  2. I let other people do the shopping But if I buy anything small from a shop like a CD or something I usually say no to a bag, as I usually have a rucksack or something. But We usually try to re-use plastic bags at supermarkets, as they don't really do paper bags in the UK. But theres been a big drive where if you re use your plastic bags, you get extra clubcard points and stuff. Yes thats in Tesco.
  3. Possibly The Ultimate at Lightwater Valley because it is so long, death would be kept away for a while Or I would ride something insane and suicidal like Kingda Ka or TTD without a 'Top' on it's Top Hat.
  4. Makes me wish I had no limits Thats an insane coaster, and I hope somebody makes one in a field where I live! It's a shame you can't really do custom elements on RCT3, or you could have made it on there just for me! Only joking, but that is one hell of a Euro-Fighter. They should have put it in instead of Speed at Oakwood!
  5. To warn all the Care Bears which might be in the path of the train. We already have a shortage of Care Bears, so we can't let more get hit by trains. Why are letters considered as numbers in algebra?
  6. ^^Hey Dylan! Well at least you live near decent coasters! Welcome to the forum anyway and enjoy stuff, I've only been here a day and I'm loving it
  7. Tom Morello please, but I would have picked others including Satriani, Page, Hendrix.
  8. I think a good action would be to raise the prices of gas, but then offer a greener, cheaper alternative such as BioFuel. Brazil are having luck with BioFuel, and I think more countries should adopt it. Where there were refineries etc, we can have BioFuel plants!
  9. The UK is really hitting some big petrol prices at the moment. I think most other countries should raise the prices too to try and get people to cut down on fuel use. Oil isn't going to be around forever, and I want to get my fair share of driving before we are forced to stop.
  10. ^ I have about a week to complete a lot of graphics and IT coursework Revision is taking a backseat unfortunately. Make sure you tie up all loose ends in Y10 before going into Y11, you NEED all the time you can get.
  11. The first launched coaster I went on - Rita at Alton Towers. I think I was like 13, when I went on this. I (obviously) cropped out the rest of the photo, for obvious reasons. Mainly because it's so obvious it's obvious, and obviously I had to say that.
  12. Garr, why do I have chicken pox, at 15, three weeks before my GCSE's? Any other time I would be pleased to have a week off school but I really can't afford it right now...
  13. Daft Punk - Touch It / Technologic It's off their Alive 2007 album. I wish I was there *sigh*
  14. To be honest i'm not too keen about Enter Shikari, but I wouldn't mind seeing them live, apparently they are really good live. But the Foo's, I don't know, but they seem as if they put in more effort to make the show better. They probably don't but it just feels like they do.
  15. I agree with the entrance price. To be fair, Blackpool has more than it's fair share of Chavs, Drunks and Louts. It puts many people off going there in the first place, for example, our family would rather go to a place such as Alton Towers because of the entrance price, it may be high, but it keeps most of the nasties out, which ultimately, can spoil a perfectly good day. But to be honest, a £5 ticket isn't bad, when it allows entrance to the park, PLUS 5 attractions which anybody can ride. These attractions are: Chinese Puzzle Maze, Pleasure Beach Express, Monorail, Noah's Ark and the Stage Show at Planet Rock. Many families, including my own, have people who enjoy rides, but also people who do not, especially parents. If a family wants to go to the theme park, but the parents do not want to ride any rides, they will often have to pay top whack, which at parks like Alton Towers, where the entrance price is £34, it is very expensive. You could pay £68 and not even go on anything, which is a waste of money. I think the way that BPB are doing this is very good, instead of one 'All-round ticket', you have a choice of tickets. Either a 'Wristband' which pays for all rides, or a 'Freedom pass' which pays for 5 attractions and entry. I'll give you an example. In the 'Generic' family, there is 'Generic angst ridden teenage son' who loves big rides, his 'Generic sport loving dad' who also likes rides, 'Generic wife who likes cooking' who doesn't like rides and 'Generic young girl' who doesn't like rides. The 'Generic' family go to Alton Towers, where it costs £34 per person as they are all over 12. So £34 X 4 = £136. 'Generic wife who likes cooking' and 'Generic young girl' don't like rides, and sit about all day carrying bags and watching 'Generic angst ridden teenage son' and 'generic sport loving dad' go on stomach churning rides like Nemesis. They feel pretty ticked off as they paid £68 for two people who didn't go on anything. But Dad can't drive but Mum can. Mum has to come along leaving Girl who doesn't want to stay at home on her own. And to be honest, at Alton Towers there isn't much you can do without liking rides, and there isn't anything outside the park. However next year, they go to Blackpool. They find out that they can pay online for their tickets, and it will cost Dad and Teenager £15 each for their wristband for unlimited rides. It will cost Mum and Girl £5 each to get in and go on some attractions. While Dad and Teenager go on the Big One and Infusion, Mum and Girl check out the show and maze with their Freedom pass. They meet up with Dad and Teenager for lunch, then Mum and Girl check out the pier and the beach, which are obviously, free. They all have a decent day. And the tickets cost them £15x2 + £5x2 = £40. Huge improvement over Alton Towers. And because of the £5 ticket price, the local drunks and trouble-makers won't want to pay £5 to be ejected out of the park after 10 mins, so they won't bother. Also less people will be in the paths and sometimes on the rides, leaving Dad and Teenager less queue time and more ride time. Overall in my opinion, it looks as it it will be beneficial. Sorry if that post was confusing, I'm tired!
  16. I saw the Foo Fighters in November last year, and they were AMAZING! They opened with 'Let it Die' then went on to play 'The Pretender' which got the crowd going a lot. We got there about two hours early, so we were right at the front, only like two people in front of us, then Serj Tankian played support, and he was really good, but the crowd didn't really get going, which was a shame because i would have liked to go a bit crazy while he was on. Anyway there was about an hour wait then the Foo's came on and played a brilliant set. Like I said above they played Let it Die and The Pretender, then after that it was pretty much a blur. We went out to get a drink and when we came back in they had moved to a stage in the centre of the crowd and played some acoustic stuff which was brilliant! They did My Hero acoustic, and it was the best version of it i'd ever heard, then they played Everlong which was even better. For the first half, it was just Dave playing on his acoustic, singing with the crowd. But half way through the band had moved to the front stage, and Dave went running down a catwalk type thing through the crowd to the main stage, where they played with the full band in a pretty heavy version which got the crowd going insane. Seriously there were so many people trying to get to where I was, you jumped, but you didn't come back down, you just got stuck with your feet off the ground. It was a brilliant night, and All My Life and Best of You sound so much better live.
  17. It looked as if the doors closed really slowly every time he let go. I would have thought he would put more effort in trying to find a hatch or something in the ceiling. I would really hate to be stuck in a lift for that long, i get a bit claustrophobic so that would be HELL. What did he do for food and water? And you know they say smoking kills.
  18. I wish I could have a big pizza right now.
  19. Ok, read and understood. I'll just find other little ways to annoy you
  20. Hey, I'm Chris, 15, from the North East, UK. 'Home' park would have been considered as Metroland, but that just closed like, two days ago, so now I would say Lightwater Valley, which is near Ripon, apparently. Anyway I havn't been to too many theme parks, seeing as though I don't really know very many people who like them. Been to Alton Towers, Flamingo Land, BPPB, and a couple other crazy little parks, like Tivoliland in Spain, which is a crazy little park! My fave ride EVER has to be Nemesis, it totally blew my minddd. And my first 'big' coaster, (if you call it big) was Rita at Alton. Before that it was the Grand National at BPPB which was a couple years ago. So yeah, I'll be going around the forums a bit then see you there!
  21. My last coaster would be Velocity at Flamingo Land. Or it might be Kumali. Can't remember, as it was a year ago, and I rode both rides about 30 times each that day Got to love school inset days. Ooh yes, first post Picture:
