  1. Well....I guess this answers everybody's question about where firehawk will end up. Photo credit goes to KI Central
  2. We made out quite well with our memberships this year. I have a family of 5, so I bought a diamond elite membership and the rest of my family got a standard membership. We all added the dinning as well($100 each). We always go together, so it made sense to do it this way. Only one of us needs the parking, and in-park discounts that an elite pass offers. 50% off merch and food. We typically get a tshirt and/or souvenir from each park we visit and that saved us some serious $$$. With the dinning plan , our drink cups are included every year, so that's another added bonus(cedar fair cups are $30 extra). We typically do not like to go thru the hassle of packing the kids up, walking a mile to the car and back, finding a fast food place that typically has inflated prices simply because it's near a theme park. So the dinning plan works great for us. This year, we spent 12 days at six flags parks. The cost of my membership is what I would have spent on parking fees alone. Last year we spent 14 days at six flags parks. This is within a 12 month period. So in the course of a year, we actually spent 26 days at six flags property's. We saved some serious $$$ by getting memberships.
  3. The park just updated the logo on their Facebook page. Looks like it's not going to be a traditional six flags park like some thought.
  4. Pah, I'm pretty sure I saw this sign.. But i can't recall which one it ist. But I'll have a wikd guess: Tiki Twirl? Makes me crazy.. Knowing to have seen it.. But not knowing exactly where. Nope...try again.
  5. I'm not too familiar with Dollywood's Weather policy. Do they typically keep the rides open in cooler weather, particularly The Coasters? We're thinking of swinging by there a few days after Christmas, and wondering if it's worth it.
  6. I don't know... Wouldn't they rather have that person in the park spending money? They already your admission money, everything beyond that is a plus.
  7. Oh man I hope you're wrong because I was really looking forward to the ice cream. I'll have to look into this. I did confirm that the International Street restaurant is only accessible with a buffet ticket, meaning you can't just go up to see it or just to get a beer/glass of wine. Damn. I get it, though. Not sure if this helps....
  8. ^Yea, the only blue ice cream item that I am aware of, is the blue ice cream flavored hot chocolate.
  9. I'm going to guess Lusty Lils or whatever that saloon in Frontier town is called. Yep! Last chance saloon(right next to lusty lills)
  10. I really don't know - but may it be somewhere in Boneville? Just a guess, it would fit into the setting there. Nope...but not far from boneville.
  11. This is a hard one. In other news, I just heard a few rumors that midway market is no more, and cedars is finally going away. Again...just rumors but interesting none the less.
  12. As one of the five regulars - I mentioned it as a “cheap” (relatively speaking) “addition” to the park that would enhance the experience of the park’s star attraction. Yes I understand it’s a second train and a name change, but the fact that it’s been called Ride of Steel since 2007, and 11 years later, guests still refer to the ride as it’s original name, says to me that the return of the man of steel theming would be welcome. Not to mention, the ABILITY to run the ride at normal capacity would be nice. To me that seems like quite a Six Flags addition, since most claim to keep expectations lower than low. One train and some branding sponsored by Takis or something ridiculous. Calling it new and moving on. Because that’s what six Flags does, right? Yes, they have a new swing ride coming, and I’m excited to have something like it in the park. Whenever “what could they do for a new attraction” came up, one of my top suggestions was a wind seeker type attraction. I’m glad that top management had a similar thought. However, there has been absolutely no updates from the park on where the attraction is going, no construction photos and certainly no live webcams - in true Darien Lake fashion of course. Therefore people like me and the other 4 regulars like to try and discuss things like the inevitable branding of attractions and how they may do it when the time comes to pass time as we wait for the season to start up again. Hopefully this helps answer the why that you are looking for. It’s a discussion thread after all. And for some of us the transition back to Six Flags is exciting and worth talking about. That includes branding rides and other minor things. It’s the off season and we’re discussing a park that posts very little during this time of year.
  13. ^Yea, but perhaps it matters to them...regardless how trivial it is to me and you. The sky screamer is a great ride...but with just about every major park having some kind of version of it, it's just not as exciting as something like a coaster to some. Call me weird, but I personally enjoy ride theaming and when you think six flags, you think of super heroes and looney tunes.
  14. I was thinking the same thing at kings island a few weeks ago. I imagine that you could get a great view of all the lights from the top.
  15. I didn't say they wouldn't do it (I'm almost certain that they eventually will), I just said they probably wouldn't do it without making a big deal out of it and possibly including it in Six Flags announcement day. That said, I don't know why anyone cares. It keeps being brought up, so obviously some people care....just saying.
  16. We're still doing this, huh? Revolution can't have lapbars because its illegal in CA to have inversions without OTSRs. Wood coasters can't launch or go upside down. It's impossible to put floorless trains on a standup coaster because the heartline is totally different. Huh?
