  1. We are actually staying in Knoxville Tennessee. Its roughly 2hours from Chattanooga.
  2. Oh definitely! We also have table service meals every day as well. It's nice having lots of time in the parks like this, because you can take your time and enjoy things more.
  3. Freak accident at the park yesterday, as a maintenance worker lost his hand while inspecting wind seeker. Worker's hand severed during ride inspection. I pray for this man, and hope he can recover from this. [March 6, 2019] A contractor at the Carowinds theme park in Charlotte, N.C. was rushed to the hospital after severing his hand while inspecting a thrill ride ahead of the park’s reopening on March 23. At around 9:15am, the maintenance contractor, was checking a cable pulley inside the 'Windseeker' ride tower. Caleb Bryan was working at the base of the ride when he heard screaming and looked up to hear "my hand's cut off - it's bleeding everywhere, I'm scared, I need help real bad!’" A Carowinds official says the man was inspecting the Windseeker, a 301-foot-tall chair swing - the second tallest attraction at the park. “He had his hand on the pulley or something and the ride somehow got tripped and started pulling up and it caught his hand and it pulled it off or cut it off,” Bryan said. “He just kept saying ‘someone please hurry. I’m bleeding out.’” Bryan says the worker was alone at the top of the ride. He was trapped for more than five minutes with his wound wrapped in a rag. “He was so high up, I think he started freaking out. I'm just glad he didn't pass out and bleed out.” Officials added that the contractor was rushed to the Carolinas Medical Center after being lowered to the ground. Carowinds straddles the border of North and South Carolina. This ride is on the South Carolina side. The state agency that will inspect it before the park re-opens in a little over two weeks, saying: "This is a worker safety issue not a rider safety issue. The riding public would not be exposed to whatever hazard caused the worker to sustain a hand injury today. The ride passed inspection a year ago and the OSHA is on site investigating any violations that may have caused this incident. A report could take up to two months. Story is from Amusement ride Accidents. Link to the story on Facebook...
  4. Unfortunately, lake Winnie will not be open at the time we are in Chattanooga. We are actually leaving on March 27th.
  5. I totally agree with you, but we usually visit Busch gardens Tampa once a year or every other. That being the case, there are a lot of things that we can skip as we have done them before.

We're breaking it up into Parts this year, the next part will be in July.
  7. Hershey park just posted a picture of the new dark ride cars.
  8. Seaworld does have a schedule of when rides will be down. https://seaworld.com/orlando/rides/ At the top they state about happy harbour being closed now and at the bottom they have the schedule of rides shut down throughout the year
  9. Need some help here... Does the park have a schedule of ride closures/rehabs posted anywhere? I cant seem to find one on the official website, and we are visiting at the end of the month. There are pictures floating around of the dolphin nursery going thru a rehab, but not a hint of it on the website. I hope it's going to be open, as it's one of my kids favorite things in the park.
  10. This about sums it up.... Even though it's for the Florida park, you get the idea.
  11. I hope the volcano itself stays. It's one of the unique things about the park. very few Parks have anything as unique as this left anymore. I like roller coasters, but I also like to have a theme park experience as well.... not just concrete and trash cans.
  12. I know that TPR has had a few events there in the past, and I seem to recall a few others in the past as well.
  13. Why not bring in a water/dark ride attraction? The volcano would be perfect for something like this.
  14. Or rip it down and extend Castaway Bay Waterpark.
  15. Speaking of hotels, cedarpoint just bought a hotel near the park. The "Budget host inn" is now owned by the park. Read about it here.... http://www.sanduskyregister.com/story/201902060028
  16. This is the exact same impression that I have of universal.
  17. Ha.... And just like that, they released the schedule today. March 16 – DaughtryMarch 17 – The Band PerryMarch 23 – 3 Doors DownMarch 24 – Blue Rodeo, Kathleen Edwards and Fred Eaglesmith featuring Tif GinnMarch 30 – Justin MooreMarch 31 – El Gran ComboApril 6 – TBAApril 7 – Josh TurnerApril 13 – Mighty Mighty BosstonesApril 14 – Boyz II MenApril 19 – Edwin McCain and Vertical HorizonApril 20 – Hunter Hayes and Levi HummonApril 21 – Mat KearneyApril 27 – Walk Off the EarthApril 28 – Foreigner
  18. Any idea when they typically release the concert schedule for the food and wine festival? The event is next month, and no list yet. We are hitting the park during the festival, and it may sway our decision to visit on a certain day depending on who is performing.
  19. Rare picture that I was able to take of the ferris wheel in the snow from inside commerica park last week.
  20. So they knowingly went to a Halloween event, and they are suing the park because they got a fright? Hmmmm
  21. The Italian place at six flags great America does really good as well. You can get a huge plate of spaghetti and a bread stick. Seems to always pull in a decent crowd.
  22. Have you looked into something like wooden warrior at quassy park? Great ride, small package. Or look at what Kentucky kingdom is building as well.
