  1. I love coasters integrated with the woods. So Boulder Dash takes the cake for me.
  2. The standing floorless drop tower looks painful enough. I can't imagine an entire coaster.
  3. I was able to get about 5 or 6 straight rides by changing seats just after the park opened in one of my visits. I experienced the one reride policy for Gold Striker though when it didn't have much of a wait for the season pass early entry. Then I rode Vortex 3 straight times, which was a mistake, but I was allowed to.
  4. I always wear cargo shorts or a jacket with zippered pockets. I don't trust any other pockets. As for things I bring in: Always Wallet Car Keys Phone Mini Sunscreen Sometimes Bathing Suit (if the water park is really good) Mini Bug Spray Hat
  5. It would be a royal pain for them if it wasn't since the water park is basically integrated into the ride park. The only way they could ever charge 2 admissions would be if they used a wristband system of some sort, and I don't see that ever happening.
  6. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer Disneyland over Disney World. While the park's are definitely more compact, I love how they are located right next to each other so I can easily hop between them and I find that both parks have all of my favorites from Walt Disney World in some form plus some that are better like Indiana Jones and California Screamin'. Other than that, I think Central Florida has the advantage. Universal Orlando > Universal Hollywood Islands of Adventure > Six Flags Magic Mountain Busch Gardens Tampa > Knott's Berry Farm SeaWorld Orlando > SeaWorld San Diego Fun Spot > Belmont Park Legoland California = Legoland Florida
  7. Here are my top 3. 1) Phoenix 2) Boulder Dash 3) Skyrush
  8. I agree that the park has seemed to a good job maintaining the charm in the front half of the park. Screamin' Eagles looks fantastic and then while Sasquatch was installed in the very front of the park and has blatant advertising, the ride has a good paint job and is surprisingly well themed for a S&S tower. My biggest gripe with the park is the super weird layout that has the Comet separated from the rest of the park by the water park.
  9. I could see them adding some theming. They could leave some old wooden boards in the middle of the structure representing the damage that a wicked cyclone could cause.
  10. I've ridden every log flume, shoot the chute, and river rapids ride in New England and New York. Outside of Lagoon's Roller Coaster, I have been on the ten oldest wooden coasters in the US that are currently operating.
  11. I would be very tempted just to follow the track haha.
  12. I found Apocalypse better than larger B&M stand-ups like Green Lantern and Riddler's Revenge, but that was because it was slower and the headbanging was less severe.
  13. That coaster seems to be a pro at avoiding the wrecking ball despite always being on the chopping block. Just curious, does anyone know what happened to Disaster Transport after it was demolished? I'm wondering if the park may have bought some spare pieces to possibly prolong Alpine Bobsled's lifespan.
  14. What type of cycle did this one run at Celebration City? The two versions like this that I've been on have had wildly different cycles. Buzzsaw at SFNE continually rotated over the top while Busch Gardens's DaVinci's Cradle just rocked back and forth. Both rides, despite their size, were quite forceful.
  15. I found Grizzly to be mildly fun. While it lacked airtime, it was smooth and had some laterals. Plus it's a perfect transition coaster to allow riders to work up the courage for rides like Gold Striker. I really like the Alpine Bobsled, but I agree that it is likely on the way out soon. That ride has seemingly been on the block for years and keeps on avoiding its demise.
  16. For me, the longest I've gone has been about a year in between summers in New England. Now I've learned how to reduce that wait by going to parks for their Halloween events and opening days in the spring, but even still that's at least 6 months between visits.
  17. After the issues that Cedar Fair had with the Windseekers, I don't see Dorney getting one in the near future. The flyers should be a very nice addition to the park and I agree that they tend to run their flats well.
  18. First Coaster: California Screamin' Last Coaster: Boulder Dash If you had told me California Screamin' would be my first coaster this year, I would have told you that you were crazy.
  19. B&M used an inverted loop on Hydra. It was a fun element, but I personally enjoy their zero-G rolls, vertical loops, and corkscrews more.
  20. The paint scheme looks good and that makes me think that the park will be keeping it around for a while. I enjoyed my rides last year when they ran the final few cars backwards. Are they still doing that? As for the park's future, I second a launch coaster like Sky Rocket as that is the perfect size for this park. The Nightmare plot should really be utilized at some point.
  21. The good tower is the Walt Disney World one with the 4th dimension where the elevator leaves the shaft like a dark ride and also has a randomized drop sequence. The other versions (bad tower) just have the drop sequence in the shaft, but like I said earlier, they still kick the butt of any other drop tower.
  22. Kingda Ka's launch, especially in the front seat Xcelerator's launch Any B&M flyer pretzel loop SkyRush (most of that ride) Cyclone's first drop (Coney Island)
  23. I love the idea of a transparent floor! That would be really creepy and cool at the same time. But I think stand-up coasters are a failed concept due to the restraints. I found Shockwave to be quite good (though I know I'm in the minority) and found SkyRider decent (90% of the ride was great, but that trick track segment was the most painful maneuver I've ever experienced on a coaster). Meanwhile, I have hated the 3 B&M stand-ups I've been on. Of the 4 I've been on, I liked Six Flags America's Apocalypse the best since it had the least headbanging due to its slower speed. Even the two that are considered the best and some of the smoothest (Riddler's Revenge and Green Lantern) were two of the most painful roller coaster rides of my life.
  24. I rode the DCA one this summer. The entire "ride" portion takes place in the same shaft. There are 3 shafts and the loading areas are stacked on top of each other. While one car is in the shaft, the other is being loaded. Compared to the WDW one, it is bad, but it is still better than 99% of drop towers out there.
  25. The only roller coaster I've been on from my birth year (1992) is Dutch Wonderland's Kingdom Coaster. For the park, the ride is perfect and quite good despite its size. If I were to pick the top 3 coasters from 1992 that I have yet to ride (purely based off observation), I would go with: 1) Batman the Ride (original) 2) Arkansas Twister 3) Pepsi Mountain Streak Wow 1992 was a pretty poor year for coasters outside of the first invert.
