  1. Yay! I will wait with baited breath. (I think it's going to be the best coaster of 2009.)
  2. And she's more of a man than I'll ever be.
  3. NZ is definitely not stuck in the 90's, I believe they stepped out of the 1890's a couple of years ago. They did win the Rugby League world cup, they are so superbaaad. P.S. Why so snooty Australia? Or are you trying to deflect your own post-colonial insecurities onto us (yet again)?
  4. Nice report! Rainbow's End is surprisingly good when you consider we only have 4 million citizens and most tourists come to see the great outdoors. Many childhood memories for me, and the Arrow Loop & Corkscrew is largely to blame for kick-starting my own roller coaster craze! The log flume is quite large and has a pretty good layout - the attempt at themeing is a lot better than your average Six Flags complete-lack-of-effort. Auckland used to have a really ghetto park called Footrot Flats, after the Murray Ball comic strip, later re-named Leisure Land, which had an S.D.C. Galaxi coaster and various carnival rides. It's not listed on the rcdb and seems to have vanished into obscurity...
  5. I always hate to see a log flume go... Always a great family attraction. They should build another one in its place!
  6. Now I'm REALLY excited - that looks bloody amazing! Go Intamin!!
  7. Wow - I want to buy one.
  8. Gosh, is there anything PAX don't make? Their shuttle loop coasters look INSANE - would love to give one a go.
  9. Still a park on my 'must do' list. Titan looks brilliant. La Vibora may not provide the greatest ride, but I do love that paint scheme!
  10. BEAUTIFUL Intamin catalogue - I just came a little myself. Thanks for sharing - I was hoping someone would hit up Intamin at IAAPA.
  11. Nice job, as always! Space World looks quite cool - is the Maurer Söhne coaster as intense as it looks?
  12. Only because I am *that* gay: Desperately Seeking Susan!
  13. Nice TR so far! I love Melbourne and their old Scenic Railway... It's great it's still up, running and (best of all) protected.
  14. This is great - The Gravity Group are really stepping it up for the woodies. Speaking of which, I think PTC needs to 'step it up' a little if they want to stay in the game long-term. Woodies are becoming a more competitive market than they used to be (always good for us enthusiasts!).
  15. I am guessing the shorter train length has something to do with the design / speed of the ride - but then being a smaller park I imagine it would be OK. To compare Speed Monster at TusenFryd has only three cars per train and Kanonen at the rather well attended Liseberg still only uses four cars.
  16. Wow, SAW is looking great - the black paint scheme is terrifying. In fact, Thorpe Park is looking great in general and really starting to fill out a nice collection of rides. Beautiful photos by the way!
  17. This park is looking better and better. Like the three car Intamin trains.
  18. Me too. I like the sheer size of the thing (though the idea is a little similar to Intamin's Half Pipe...).
  19. This is awesome - thanks for these clips. What a great little park - must get up there someday soon.
  20. That was pretty cool. They seem to have a very high 'gore quota' going on at Movie World.
  21. Yeah, after I painfully was able to view a few more photos I think you're right. This ride looks nothing like the Aquatrax in Korea, at least not yet anyway. --Robb Sob - it's true. Tire propelled launch = not an Aquatrax.
  22. The ride looks great. The themeing: Well, it's always a risk to theme a ride to a movie before the movie's out... And with McG, of all people directing, you know it's gonna suck (Charlie's Angels anyone?). Hopefully the movie will be a hit and prove a useful tie-in for SFMM nonetheless.
  23. Tower of Terror in Australia, also an Intamin Reverse Freefall Coaster like Superman The Escape, is incredibly loud. I would also give an 'honourable mention' to the Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loops, which make a hell of a racket, and especially the Wiener Looping / Bullet custom Shuttle Loop which had to be moved specifically because of its general loudness. I say the louder the better though!
  24. Crazy idea! Like everyone else, I can't see it working. And I can pretty much guarantee anyone not from the U.S. (i.e. tourists) will think it's weird, weird, weird!
  25. Nice trip report! Sorry to hear IOA was a bit of a disappointment. I hope you were incredibly rude to whoever called you out. Where do people get off?
