Unanswered/Dumb Question-Dumb Answer game

It continuously says "take that, take that" and "can't stop won't stop" in the same manner Puff Daddy does. Why does the fiscal year start in June? -

Medusa @ SFDK

I commented about it to a supervisor upon leaving the park. I mean I know from being a former ride op and an enthusiast what GP would not, but letting a 3 minute ride cycle before you even open the gates is just bad. As for HC/ADA loading. What we did at Knott's (at least on Xcel) is to inform a row that we'd be using their row on the next train, so when we open the gates they dont board -

Sorry for the lack of literature...I pre-typed it and it didn't copy over...This was a visit to DK I took on Sunday. The worst part of the day was how slow the Medusa crew was. Every single load cycle, the gates were not open until the cycling train hit main brake. I didn't think pictures would describe it so I took video, and am unfamiliar with the YouTube link so forgive me for that. The last video however is how the crew seemed to "step it up" and not stack once the park closed. All of a sudden they start hauling ass. -

I stopped by the mountain for a few hours coming back from NorCal this morning...and X2 was not open...oh well. The Goliath Crew was Phenominal. Even though the park had just opened, they were "Holding on track" for every dispatch, with an average of about 20-25 riders per train No train in the station or tranfer block? They're both cycling. Damn good job!!!

HRP Labor day weekend special

...Sounds lika "going out of business" sale to me. But it could be worse, if the sale and discounts were available just on GP, then we all have reason to fear. I'm sure Jarmor's right and they're just taking every attepmt to break even before the end of the season. -
Shows/Cartoons from the 90's

I miss shows like Earthworm Jim, Road Rovers, all the way back when to Tale spin, Darkwing Duck, Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales. I can even go back to shows like James Bond Jr, TMNT, Bruno the Kid and Transformers. I lost interest in Saturday morning TV after shoes like Doug, Pepper Ann, and Recess had run it;s course...I still have 10 seasons of The Simpsons, so I'll be fine. -

Stand Up Coasters

^I was shocked to hear about Manta, as I predicted Tatsu was the last flyer. Aside from being a gimmick, which I still think is one, but $20+million for a ride? That's more along the lines of Six Flags buying, and we won't see a major coaster from them at least until 2011, when the chain turns 50. (of course this is just a prediction, don't quote me on it) -
The debt was caused by over expansion and poor upper management decisions. Magic Mountain opened up coaster after coaster without any time to allow a return profit. As a result, they gained a national reputation of "The Xtreme park" and lost credibility as a family friendly park. Ultimately each park in the chain had it's downfalls, but in a nut shell, it was pretty much just adding too many rides too close together without time to collect residuals on them.

Farenheit not open in October
Bolliger&Mabillard replied to CTcoastin's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Temperature does effect the speed of rides, so maybe there is a fear of a train valley. Of course I don't know how cold PA getis in December so I wouldn't know if this is the case, just an educated guess. -
Stand Up Coasters

I'm gonna go with the majority here and say that it is a concept that has run it's course. Amazing to see the timeless popularity of the invert, the stand-up has faded into the background. I'm sure Manta will be the last flyer, as the novelty of the flyers has worn off, and the price tag remains an issue. With everything on their website, I look for B&M just to sell Inverts and Hypers, unless they decide to prototype or go wood.
