  1. They've got about 36 hours til Haunt, so I should hope they're complete or near it.
  2. Sorry to be a cynic, but If Cedar Fair had a hard enough time making this park profitable, what would lead people to believe that JMA is going to do anything differently? Could they do a better job to persuade the city? Perhaps. But I don't think "Amusement Park" is in Great America's future. "Entertainmet Complex"? Yes but anything outside of that, I'd have to be skeptical about. Running an amusement park takes a lot of money, more money than Cedar Fair wanted to spend in relation to what they were bringing in. I don't see a company that isn't tradionally in the business of running an amusemnet park to walk in a run a pretty big one with no experience in running one before.
  3. ^If you have the money for it, go in the day for rides, night for just Mazes, shows; etc. If money or time are a factor, then try to do the prescare dinner and ride Xcelerator and Ghostrider before the park fills up. After that, focus on Mazes and shows, and if you can get all that done, see what you have left for rides. The only place in the park I personally prefer to eat in the park is Johnny Rockets, but it can get some unbelievably long wait times during this time of year. However, here's to hoping the crowd won't be too bad.
  4. ^Well...if Dollar Tree ever starts selling tubular steel, we'd be halfway there...
  5. Six Flags has well enough credit to go to any reputable bank and get a $40,000,000 loan, what are you talking about?
  6. ^^Correct, it could, but Every B&M that runs three trains have five blocks (except for the flyers) ^I'm pretty sure Lep Zed only has 5 blocks, and Hollywood Dream is in that same exception with the flyers, because though the station can house two trains simutaneously, it still is only one block in the programming.
  7. B&M hasn't built a coaster yet with just three blocks. All of the coasters they've built have four blocks to run two trains, and five blocks to run 3 (Notable exception being the flyers with three trains, which have only four blocks but has a spur station) Without a midcourse brake run, the block system on a B&M should look like this... 1.Lift 2.Main Brake (divided into two sections 'Safety Brake/Service Brake) 3.Transfer(Waiing block/Station approach) 4.Station Just add "Midcourse Brake" as No. 2 if running three trains. So if this ride will run three trains with no midcourse, I would make an educated guess that a block will be place between the main brake and the transfer block, which in all honesty seems more detremental to capacity than to save it. Besides, they could just have three trains for a two train ride as an extra (Boomerang and Montezooma's at Knott's both have two trains)
  8. Wild guess, but if there is normally a maze there this time of year, Baloon Race's scheduled rehab would be around this time of year anyway, if the park took advantage of the ride already being dismantled.
  9. Yea.....If Sandor Kernacs let his 8 year old niece draw up the design for it in MS Paint, than sure...
  10. The park doesn't have a noise restriction per se, but the park does make a lot of moves out of "consideration". For example, GhostRider did not have that tunnel/shed-thingy installed until Knott's bought that Ramada(or was it a Raddison? I don't remember...something with an R). As for the height restriction, they already have two structures over 300' (Supreme Scream from flagpole to ground is 310' and Windseeker is 301') So I'm gonna go out on a hunch and say that unless there are plans to build a stratacoaster, there should be no problem, unless its noisy....
  11. ^Are you Asian? Ouch. As for me, texting is illegal in California, right? So why is it that I pass by this gigantic building wrap everyday on the 405 by LAX telling you not to text. Hmm....an 80 ft billboard taking your attention from the road to tell you to keep your eyes on the road seems counterproductive.
  12. I'm going to go out on a hunch and say since the original news report said the LA County Sheriff were also involved, they used a slim jim to unlock it, leaving the window intact.
  13. ^The cycle takes over 5 minutes, so I don't think Perilous will ever have less than a ten minute wait
  14. In all seriousness, I don't think land clearing over by a rehabbed ride that also sees a lot of construction during Haunt (that time of year) has anything to do with an attraction next year. Now if say, a warehouse or Lakeside Terrace or Perilous Plunge just mysteriously vanished, I'd be a tad bit more inclined to say something big was in the works.
  15. ^The policy for Disney is EXACTLY the same.... Would you leave your dog in a car for an ENTIRE DAY anywhere else? No. In fact, why the issue of animal cruelty isn't more prevelant is beyond me. Also who's to say she wasn't already informed to use the kennel? Anybody who has any experience dealing with the public knows that people don't always (very seldomly) follow instructions. As stated before, what could te park have done differently? I'm as quick to bash Six Flags as anyone when they screw up, but this is something that they should have done. I think the park was 100% right.
  16. Wait, so Discovery Kingdom is actually getting that coaster? I thought it was a joke...boy, is there egg on my face.
