  1. I just got the soundtrack to "The Wiz" a few days ago and it made me fall in love with Diana Ross all over again. The vocal songs in the movie are absolutly amazing.
  2. ^The article Calicoasters posted mentions something about January, I think.
  3. Very generic name. I understand giving the Thomas town's one name across the board to be resourceful, but it would've been nice to tie ours in with BBW or HST.
  4. ^They could break a record for the most launched rides in one park...that's something to brag about, I guess.
  5. Actually, in the nine months it was down, Purple got a pretty extensive rehab itself. They even repainted it (using a metallic purple with fade effects on the flames and airbrushing "Xcelerator" on the hood of the train in the same lettering as the old Chevrolet logo) So it would seem pointless to spend that much time and effort to detail the train only to change it a year later.
  6. ^You still have to pay to park and get in. They're not hurting to badly if one or two people don't buy the food.
  7. Kobe REALLY should've taken that shot himself last night...
  8. Between now and when Windseeker opens, I'm sure Xcelerator will have the full Earl Sheib treatment. I just wished the trains matched the track...and the trains matched each other. But one thing at a time I guess, it's great they're painting it at all.
  9. I think the best way to solve the food problem is to hand over most the food service to outside vendors. Instead of buying the moniker like most places do, set up an independantly run franchise within the park (ala Panda Express @KBF). That way, the bare minimum would be whatever you get at you'r local fast food eatery. And, you can still keep Mooseburger or add another sit down or whatever else for those who would want more than quick serve food
  10. ^And sports fans' money isn't good? It's not like it's an expirimental idea. The ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney has hour+ waits and minimum spending totals per hour when you do get a table. And this is a bad idea for Magic Mountain...why?
  11. ^I really would like to see more diverse food in the park. Something other than just burgers & fries. Before that JR express in front of Deja Vu, That was the only place I was aware you could get a hot dog (not that it was ever open). But More sit-down restaurants would be a welcome enhancement. With a park the size of MM, it has ONE decent sit-down in Mooseburger Lodge. But in a premier sports market such as L.A., one of those game day grills would do well. I remember when my girlfriend lived in Canyon Country we would search to find a decent place to watch Laker games. If Six Flags could tap into the Lakers and Dodgers (who have cult followings) and help enhance the park by adding more than just coasters, the tide could totally turn.
  12. I saw Red Train's paintjob today. Not what I was expecting, especially since it doesn't match the purple one. But what else can you expect from a company that plays the national anthem before park opening everyday?
  13. Gals? I think you can count all of TPR's female members on one hand...there's not enough to refer to them as a plural
  14. Also keep in mind that Veterans, Cops, and firefighters get free admission through the weekend and their group only pays $15 per person so the whole month has been busier than normal
  15. I would imagine that it won't take long to erect the Green Lantern (Sorry, couldn't resist). With such a small footprint construction could begin even as late as March and still make it for a Memorial Day weekend opener.
  16. ^I'm still pissed off that the smoke detectors around Mean Streak were working....
  17. Oh no, no, no. Let's hope they don't paint the brakes...Kryptonian ponies don't like paint inbetween their hooves. But I'd Imagine they're hauling through the paint to get the trains testing as quickly as possible.
  18. ^Agreed. It's an understatement to say "what a difference a paintjob makes". Even without the reversed cars it looks so much better. It's also nice to life getting put into such a forgotten attraction. Still, I can dream of a Kingda Ka Klone out here on the west coast. I can dream, can't I?
  19. ^It's not like they'd even have to produce any new tape for that. They could just some video from the first Superman movie and BOOM! Instant pre-show.
  20. "Keep it Goin'"- The Floacist & Raheem DeVaughn
  21. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the trains are as "cadilac with a diamond in the back" as Texas Giant's trains are...
  22. Measuring what the company has done in the past three years to compensate what they've done (or neglected to do) in the past ten is a bit unfair. Alot of love went into the Paramount parks, but VF, MA, DP and even to an extent KBF could've benefited from more capital improvements outside of ride additions. I'm just hoping that whoever steps in after Kinzel uses more of a balance attack.
  23. I probably agree most with Chadster on this issue that the current pricing allows parkgoers to spend the cash they saved at the gate on souveniers or other memorabilia they woundn't have normally bought. I see alot more people buying ride photos for Silver Bullet and Tatsu than I do for Space Mountain and Tower of Terror...
  24. A new chairman may not be that bad of an idea. It'd be nice to see someone with new ideas bring something to the table, and stop the practice of Cedar Point taking up 99% of the entire company's resources.
  25. ^If you hate waiting in line, treat yourself to it. However, the Mountain has a strong history of being virtually empty through certain times of the year so with a little planning you could visit with light crowds and save your dough.
