  1. Xcelerator's glasses policy. (Coming from my training in 2006) Xcelerator was a prototype. Being the first of it's kind, no one was exactly sure of the ride experience it would give. As a precaution, the engineers fro mIntamin reccommended that eyewear not be worn. So that was etched into the service manual and from that it was added to the ride's SOP. Since then no change has been made to the ride's SOP since it was written in 2002. So even though other rocket coasters allow eyewear, Xcelerator does not.
  2. Wait...Tatsu still has a line? Everytime I go to the park its never more than a 10 minute wait...
  3. ^Yes, but not from a stationary position. It launches forward first and launches backward with the return momentum. There really isn't any way around not having OSTRs. Yes. In theory, you could gradually launch the train backwards, but without an instant burst of acceleration, what would be the difference between it, and backing out of a driveway?
  4. ^I'm not 100% convinced it won't have a Bizarro theme. This would not be the first time a park's PR openly said one thing only to have it change later along down the road.
  5. ^Theoretically, you could keep the chasis intact and reverse the vehicle, but I'm sure that's easier said than done.
  6. ^You'd have thunk one would've seen the chassis for red trai-er, whatever color train under the tophat just chilling in pieces. Xcel will only have one train for a while.
  7. I'm a loud obsenity shouter. I keep it PG though...
  8. ^It (Terminator) is easily the best GCI I've ridden (out of both Roars, Wildcat, and Lightning Racer) but It doess kinda level out a little more than halfway through.
  9. I've ridden a spinout at a Fair in Norwalk not too long ago and it was actually kinda fun. I prefer that way more than the standard (I'm thinking of Revolucion @ Knott's) If the park got one I'd ride it.
  10. There is room for capital improvments between X and Viper, but if it's something big MM runs the risk of looking like a CF park. If that's an area of interest for development, I'd be fitting for something small or indoors.
  11. ^It does seem though that as long as the park is SIX FLAGS America and not anything else, its just going to be a D list park. I'd like to see it grow into more, but I don't really see that happening.
  12. Pretty funny. I put "California state law roller coaster restraints" into a search engine and this was the first thing that popped up. It's just funny that they're is an attorney who specializes in that field. And THAT is why California lacks any type of airtime machine.
  13. ^^Dislike a Vekoma SLC? I never would've thunk it!
  14. Almost two years later, this statement is now valid again. Was laid off early June from bartending...so I'm on the hunt again
  15. I agree that park managment needs some fresh minds. Changing your CEO can only do so much, getting some new executives at the park level would do wonders and get some new ways of thinking in.
  16. ^I'd say yes, Why buy new rides if what you have now isn't running right?
  17. ^Yea if you don't get to those sales within the first couple of days your going to end up going to a sale with 18 copies of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"...
  18. Instead of people thinking the burden of proof is on those doubting whether Miami is a lock in the east, I think the burden of proof is on a team that hasn't even played one exhibition game. The Lakers have one 2 back-to-back championships, the Celtics were literally 6 minutes away from winning a title, Orlando could be a potential threat, Chicago looks like they could pull off all kind of upsets. I guess I'm going to have to agree with Jew, There's as much evidence that this group can't win as there is that they'll win. There are at least three teams within the past three years that have made it to the finals and proved they had what it takes to win. This team just has alot of stats and everyone's assuming they're a lock to win for ten straight years.
  19. IIRC, it was Bosh's rookie year they made the playoffs when VC was still there, so CB4 led them to one playoff berth.
  20. ...where they rode Phantom's Revenge until the track warped. They for lunch they ate...
  21. ^On the contrary, If I were James I would've stayed put. If I wanted to solidify my place in basketball legacy, the best way to do it is by staying with one team. LeBrom had a chance to not only be a great player, but could have been the best Cavelier, which along with the level in which he impacted the game would have been an excellent compliment to his record. Now, I don't really think he's going to be looked at as highly from here on out not matter how well he plays. Aside from the argument I'm sure people will make that "you couldn't win without Wade and Bosh", LeBron is always going to be the guy who "walked out on his team".
  22. ...the nudey bar, where Al Bundy and Jefferson Darcy lived it up, dancing the night away until it was time to go, so everyone left and went to...
