  1. From the "What's On Tonight?" Dept... PBS is airing tonight, as part of their Great Performances series: "Keeping COMPANY With Stephen Sondheim" It's (at least) an hour special, with the usual breaks asking for donations, etc. Ends up being 1-1/2 hours in total. And it's all about how they managed to switch the sexes in most of "Company". Including a Gay Wedding, too! Should be a great look at how it all came to be. Here's the LINK to PBS with more info. on the special: https://www.pbs.org/about/about-pbs/blogs/news/great-performances-presents-exclusive-look-inside-broadway-revival-of-company-in-new-pbs-documentary/ Lead Katrina Lenk (Bobbie) and The Gang. EDIT TO REVIEW: This was an absolutely wonderful look at how the whole musical thing called "COMPANY" came to be in 1970. Then it takes you through most of the entire current production, with interviews with everybody connected with it AND those who are still around from the original production (Donna McKechnie who went on, to "A Chorus Line"). And as well, those who appeared in at least three other productions (2 revivals on Broadway, and 1 in London). And they never cut to anyone asking for donations! I mean, it was PBS, right? But it's a full hour and a half of Sondheim at it's best. He did get to see first previews on Broadway. But then, a week and a half later, he passed away in his sleep. I do realize that during the 1950's and 1960's, he was at the top of his game there too, lyrics and/or music, before the 1970's and on. But I always like to (now) think that the Best of Steve started with COMPANY (1970), and has now ended with COMPANY (2022). If you get a chance to find and see this special, do so! If you're a Sondheim freek like I am, you won't regret it.
  2. ^^ Great shots, especially the ones that you wouldn't expect to be taken. 3rd one from the end is a great example. The train in the bottom of the Lochness track, is another one I like. Thanks for sharing your visit there!
  3. Ray Liotta. 67. <shock> One of the 'Goodfellas' and more. RIP buddy. You were a RAWKER!
  4. It's not a rant. But then, we really don't have a Sadness Thread, yes? No? Anyway... Healing thoughts go out to all close to the madness that happened at the Texas Elementary school yesterday. Several 9 and ten year olds. And two teachers.
  5. ^ I also just read that there is to be several more eating spots for "fueling up" before (or after) a day in Avengers Campus.... Along with the PYM Kitchen, there's the Stark Factory quick service, two food trucks (one is WEB and the other one is FAN-tastic), and the Super Diner. That sounds like a lot of food and beverage choices in this one area of the park. Great! Art concepts from Disney.
  6. ^ Yeah, I'm putting off a visit till The Dome is in place, over it all.
  7. ^ That's definitely YOU! Dunno why. Just a hunch. And the piano keys base is a great extra to it! EDIT to add: And I would have gone with the Cello (or is that a Bass, behind you?), lol!
  8. ^^ I would prefer riding the cello, myself.
  9. In another site's information pages, there was this tidbit about what's coming to the Studios' Avengers Campus, soon... Buffet? It sounds like it's the same concept, as the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall in Tokyo Disneyland. All the food is there, plated/bowled etc, to be picked up, w/o ordering, (sliding your tray along), unless it's a special order (as opposed to = Smorgasbord). Me and the guys at Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall. Note we haven't taken everything off of our trays, yet. TPR 2007 Japan Tour.
  10. Great look at everything available during the Knott's Ghost Town Alive days and the Summer Nights, too. By the way ...... Hatch Chilis? Are they 'hot' ones, or less so? Just curious, as I'd never heard of them, till now. EDIT to add: I looked them up. So, they come from New Mexico and are (usually) roasted. Neat!
  11. Vangelis He was 79. Composer of the film "Chariots of Fire," and the original "Blade Runner". He collaborated with Jon Anderson from YES, for several albums and music, including "The Friends of Mr. Cairo", and "State of Independence."
  12. Something I would like to know, w/o being set aflame, but .... Why do (most) Middle Eastern men, require their women to be totally clothed in black apparel, and (usually) allowing only their EYES to show through the 'helmut' of cloth they are wearing? What is "religious" about that? I do not understand. It's slowly changing I've 'heard.' But still. a lot of women still do it w/o argument, which means what???
  13. "something with drums" ....
  14. For myself, the ease and more 'casual' atmosphere of Knott's made it all the more likeable, compared to the intense Get Ready attitude for The Disney park(s) visit, we felt. That's not to say that stuff wasn't going on at Knott's while we were there (a Sept. visit), lots of atmosphere 'players' in the Ghost Town, and pretty much everything was running great with the staff they had, then. My only mistake was wanting to sit in one of the front row seats of Xccelerator (sp?). That took for ---- e ----- ver. Especially with the numbers of other riders passing our oh-so-slow queue. Wasn't worth it. I enjoyed other seats, as well. P.S. to add: Also, this was a great hotel to stay at (Knott's own), more reasonably priced as far as we were concerned. And it included a shuttle to Disney, if we wanted to use it. Which ... we did. <g>
  15. ^ Ha! There was actually "one of these recent Topics LINK" that wondered ...."why do pepperoni slices CURL when cooked on a pizza?" Truth, I kid you not! But honestly, that is a wonderful (current) lineup of pizzas you have created and cooked. YUM!!! Very envious here. But then again - I have a BBQ KING as my partner. So .................. HAH to you!
  16. ^ Much better, than I ever would have gotten! Thanks for posting the shots.
  17. ^ District 10 Guy (w/pipe) is WOOFy! And that's all I got. Great TR.
  18. ^ Hey! That's my Birthday Date (Mar.30)! Kewl. And by 2024, I'll be .... 71. eep. (And by the way, I don't believe it.)
  19. ^^ That definitely sounds like "the right idea," in tackling both parks. Hope you have/find fun and enjoyment, too!
  20. I had this 'rash' .... but it's starting to go away, now.
  21. Recent Stuff Dept:

Had something of a 'rash' happening on the back of my neck. Fun stuff, and have been prescribed a gel to help get it off my neck!

Fun times. Spring is coming in fairly usual. The front yard is starting to blossom in pinks and reds. And passers by, notice it/them.

    💮

  22. Listening, to the latest (of 3) Original Cast Recording of the amazing Sondheim musical, ASSASSINS. With a lot of current, awesome Broadway talent in this one. This production opened in November, of last year. Off Broadway, but who cares? It's a keeper! It's really something, when this musical sounds as fresh as it did in .... 1991? .... All things (currently) political included, lol. Definitely a must buy. IMhO. And Broadway's Spongebob Squarepants (Ethan Slater) is the Balladeer in this one!
  23. ^ That's what we're actually planning to do, when we finally get over there in a few years' time. Run to Soarin' after the rope drop in DisneySea, LOL! Then, park hop, and hustle over to Beauty/Beast Land, etc. Or hit them on two separate days. That should work, right? Right??? We miss this. Taken by my David. At the end of the TPR 2013 Japan Tour.
