I thought the same thing! People have been saying for a long time that they should get one of these in the go-karts area, but I didn't expect it for next year! That area of the park really is becoming so lively with new additions every year! And it does make sense that they would have a Batman coaster in that area. Though I'm not a big DC fan, this ties in really nicely with the emerging DC area they are making there. Just need a rebrand of V2 and they'll be good! Also wondering if they will move the go-karts. I can't really think of anywhere else that the go-karts would be good at, unless they removed something. They can't have them too close to the lake due to noise and pollution, so it would have to be more center in the park. Also, I follow some of the SFDK animal pages on Instagram and they still do really care for their animals. Some of them have died recently due to old age. I'm not sure if they experience influx of new animals too often, though they have occasionally gotten rescue animals. I can see the park watering down the variety of animal experiences they have as their current animals slowly die off ( ), but I don't see them getting rid of their dolphins or sea lions any time soon, as well as others.

Carowinds Discussion Thread

This looks fantastic! I'll have to plan another trip down to Carowinds next year. It'll be great to have another solid (non-skippable) coaster in the lineup to tear me away from Fury a bit. The theming looks great, and I'm also interested to see how that airtime launch bit will feel! -
This addition looks amazing! Looks like a great mid-range addition to the park. Definitely something they needed. I also enjoy low-to-the-ground coasters so this should be fun! I'm also interested to see how the showroom concept works out. I'm glad they decided to put it outdoors and not just bake everyone in the sun for a few minutes. Hopefully there will be A/C as well!

Yes, and still in it now working on my 4th degree! Do you think you need to lose some weight?

I agree with you on pretty much all of these, but I would sub Intimidator for Diamondback in the floater category, and add in Fury 325 somewhere because that coaster definitely deserves a medal! Not sure if I agree that YOLOcoaster deserves any recognition, but at the moment I can't think of a coaster that I like specifically for hangtime. I'd add in El Toro for some of the Best Airtime Moments category. The drop and first hill are still some of my favorite airtime moments on any coaster, as well as the hill formerly over Rolling Thunder. Also surprising airtime: Time Traveler. While not known for it's airtime, there are a few surprising moments of airtime that are even more surprising depending on which way you are facing (sideways airtime??!?).

I usually trust Screamscape (to an extent) but that just sounds ridiculous. I know SFMM isn't prone to logic, but why would they make a major investment that's so darn similar to their current coaster? I know it's not unheard of in the Six Flags chain for a park to add a ride that we see as atrociously similar to an existing ride, but most GP don't notice the similarities. Half these "rumors" sound ridiculous. I guess we'll find out in.... 2 days? But NO MATTER WHAT it ends up being, some enthusiasts are going to be butthurt that they weren't "right" in their pipe-dream predictions. And then chaos will ensue.

So last night the Flash Sale pass renewal was having severe problems. It even locked me out of my credit card at one point. Apparently, the site crashed from so much traffic. Guess they fixed the problem now and extended the sale through today. If anyone hasn't taken advantage of it yet and wanted to, you still have today to do so! Renewal is cheapest of the year and you get a free FL+ when you renew. Can't beat that! -

Two of my favorites! Jelly. Diamondback was my last. Best B&M hyper! -
YEs, a sample, but I doubt I’d like it. Do you use a lot of emojis when you text?

My friends were there the Monday before last (and I showed up later in the day), and absolutely FL+ was still needed unless you really want to wait 30-60 minutes for everything. -

One of the first things said during the announcement was explaining the significance of announcing antique cars on August 16th (reason being that it was the date the former ones closed for good). If people are using the excuse that it was National Roller Coaster Day and the announcement wasn't a roller coaster as a reason to get mad, then they didn't pay attention to the announcement at all. I actually am happy that they didn't announce a coaster yesterday. I'd rather have it be teased and hyped for some time (longer than a day, LOL) if it's something big. Plus, antique cars are actually really fun, popular, and a great way to take a break from hardcore coastering! The fact that people are actually getting mad about this just boggles my mind. P.S. I still have a possibly unhealthy obsession with Mystic Timbers shed. I'll never forget the excitement on Mystic Timbers opening day to find out what was in the shed! I bought a shirt that says, "What's in the shed?" and it's possibly my favorite coaster shirt ever. Anyone reading this who might have a hand in teasing whatever future coasters might be coming, you have your work cut out for you in topping that. -
Yes, but now that I live somewhere that it costs again, I may not. Do you use lotion every day?

They didn’t say in so many words, but they described the location as going “under Racer” and that sounds like Dino’s Alive former locale. EDIT: just asked and he said about 1300’ or about 3 minutes. He said roughly the same length as the former. -

Here is the car that Mike Koontz rode in on for the announcement! Great way to announce them, and although they aren’t a coaster, I’m still very excited! 3 miles of driving path with a bridge and water effects. Sounds great! Anyone know how long the cars at CP are? -

Last year I visited Haunt at least half of the Fridays it was running, and I can confirm that it does tend to get busier closer to Halloween! Also, Fridays are better than Saturdays, by far, and maze lines get shorter later in the evening. I work at Banshee... THIS IS NOT A TEASER... This has been there since the beginning of the season. A member of my crew who was supposed to be looking for lost articles found it down the hill and in the trees, and thought it would be nice to have actual part of the ride by the Eternal Flame The flowers were put there by SOB fans. I repeat, this has NOTHING o do with a new ride or attraction. It was just the Banshee crew paying respect to the former occupant of that area. Repeat again... BANSHEE CREW FOUND THE WOOD..... Thank you for the clarification! I read somewhere else that the wood was possibly a teaser, so I figured I'd take a photo and let everyone else decide. The true story is even better than that! Didn't notice it there earlier in the season and probably wouldn't have if no one mentioned it. Right now the weather is horrible, but I'm still going to make my way to KI in a bit under the assumption that they'll still be doing the announcement even though the rain will likely drive a lot of guests away. -
No. Do you prefer to sleep past 10 am when you can?

Not to stir the SOB pot again, but I visited the park yesterday and took some photos of the mystery wood that appeared by the SOB memorial in Banshee line. I'm thinking this announcement is most likely the long-rumored antique cars, unless it could be some kind of show or event that's returning? I'm actually off tomorrow so I might try to turn up for it. I was already considering going to KI tomorrow but now this gives me another reason to go!
