  1. ^^ Just look at The Crow..and Brandon Lee is still hot, dead or alive.
  2. Not very nice. Why do you want to get people upset? This actor obviously had issues with depression that he spoke openly about...people liked him b/c he took on a role that most actors would be afraid to take in fear of ruining their career (Brokeback Mountain). Nobody makes you go to the movies...so if you dont like it...dont go.
  3. Sorry for the ACE'er comment...just trying to be funny. And failed. Delgrosso's, Idlewide, and Kennywood are somewhat close? Does anybody know of a site where you can see where these parks are per state and which ones are actually open? I tried using rcdb's...but it seems to use "as the crow flies" way of estimating milage.
  4. 5g's???!!!! I wonder what kind of wedgie a strong force like that will give?
  5. ^Looks like a fun time...do you know if it is a body slide?
  6. for question B... Go in the begging of September. Preferably the second week. Kids just got back to school therefore most parents arent going to yank them out to go on vacation. The only people that are in these parks are people with infants....which is great b/c they occupy the kiddie rides. dont go in August...still a bad time IMO.
  7. I've had the luxury of staying with family when I go out to LA...but I must make one recommendation...Go to Portos. Its an amazing spanish bakery...and the food is out of sight. Also, be aware that traffic in LA will eat up your vacation time...I'm from Northern NJ and I know traffic. But, IT WILL take you at least 2-3 hours to drive 20 miles around LA on a major freeway. So, your best bet is to figure out which park you want to go and book a hotel next to it. Good luck
  8. Hello, Since rollercoasters and rodents seem to be of interest with the members of TPR, I thought I would share this article... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22684589/?GT1=10755 Enjoy!
  9. I think there was a Wet-n-Wild next to the Aladdin, last time I was there it looked like its been closed for a while. Anyway...unless it has a slot machine in it...IMO-its not worth the time spent.

  11. If you want to be near it all...stay at either the Bellagio, Paris, Wynn, Ceasers, Venetian...there is a small casino next to the Imperial Palace (which is across the street from Ceasers) where they have great slots, $1 margaritas/beer. Take a taxi (or walk, it isn't that bad) to the Luxor and you can take a tram to any of the casinos on that side of town (excaliber/MGM Grand/etc). You should also make it a point to go to freedmont ave for the "freedmont ave experience"...the casinos are hands down my favorite in Las Vegas. They are on the other side of town, so if you are staying on the strip...dont send family members there. Even though the rooms are about 40 bucks a night. But the casinos are the original...binions, four queens, etc. THey also have small casinos that pay very well on the slots. If you are there long enough and dont feel like spending too much on shows, The Imperial Palace has a great celebrity impersonation show...Legends and I think it is Ballys next door that has a great comedy show where the tickets are only 25 bucks. You can always buy them when you get there. I go to Vegas more then I should admit...so I'm pretty familiar with the off-beat restaurants, shows, hotels, etc.
  12. Accident Park, as the locals like to call it. From what I understand, the reason why they had that slide was b/c Action Park didnt test build there rides. Coupled with that and irresponsible ride ops, that park was made for disaster. I'm from Northern NJ...and although I was too young to enjoy the park, my brother had the pleasure. They also had a tarzan swing of death where they had issues of people going into shock b.c it dropped you off in very cold spring water. They had go carts (they called them indy cars) that you had to prove you were 18 + to drive b/c they went so fast that you can easily flip them over.
  13. Why is this "teacher" being allowed to brainwash these impressionable young kids with her ignorant misinformation??? Ya, if a 3rd grader is calling the shots as to where to go for a family vacation, there is something wrong with that. Onto the topic, people can go out to there car and drink. So whether they sell it in the park or people bring it in...alcohol is always available.
  14. Totally agree...the old ones look like they belong in a 70's porn flick.
  15. ^^Agree...I think that there are some kids that are well behaved...but there are some snot-nosed little pains in the rear...well you know, distracts from the ambiance of a restaurant. If restaurants can enforce a dress code, they should install a noise ordinance too. Maybe they can get the obnoxious-cell phone person to stop talking like they are in a stadium in all the WDW table service restaurants.
  16. ^^I concur... Besides, look at Disney...most of their rides are based on "dated" movies. Who Framed Roger Rabbit...Fantasy Land...Indiana Jones.
  17. MMMMM...all you can eat pasta??!!! As for the pizza, I dunno...Knoebels has a pretty mean slice. Thank you for the advice...its always nice to know what the best things to do in a place that one has never been to.
  18. Oh, that was your TR that I saw when I did a site search. Sorry, I think I had a brain fart b/c I thought your report was from '06. RCDB had some pics from like 1972 and shots from before a refurbish...a shame since it is has history. Thank you for the info...
  19. Hello, I looked on the Lakemont Park web-site and it didn't have Leap the Dips as one of there attractions. I wanted to know (before planning a trip out-there) if anybody has been to Lakemont Park last year or knows if this attraction is still running. (or if its worth the 6+ hour drive) Thank you.
  20. At least he didn't take it "It scared the s****" out of me" literally.
  21. Happy Birthday!!!
  22. For all parks: Give the ride ops/security/heck even cleaning crew...tasers. So when a park guest is acting up, line cutting, throwing garbage on the ground when there is a trash can next to them, etc. They can be disciplined. Since I'm sure that Disney might have a problem with this idea...maybe they can install a timeout room instead.
  23. Worst addition? VIP Parking at Six Flags.
  24. I hear this rumor all the time at Great Adventure while standing inline... "Shockwave was taken down b/c a large person was not stapled in correctly, they fell off the train and got run over (of course died)" Umm..I saw on a ride safety site that Lighting Loops a person died on...but I never saw this "fact" about Shockwave.
