  1. I didn't get to ride Back To The Future so I can't really compare the Simpsons to it but I think this one looks really good! I can't wait to go there next year!
  2. That looks very complicated. I hope it's ready by the beginning of June because I will be going to Myrtle Beach this summer and it would be nice to ride that.
  3. ^ I heard a few of yall mention Splash Valley and I've never heard of it until now. So i decided to do a lil search and its already broke ground and has a website! I had no idea this was going on! lol Congrats Chatt!!!
  4. ^ I'm really trying not to get my hopes up on Ole South but I can't help but get excited about that, because it sounds like it would be very good! In the back of my mind I keep feeling like it's not going to happen...
  5. Wow way to go Memphis! Well I gues I'll be staying on the east side of TN since there's nothing in the west that I care for. So basically, they still don't know what they want to do with the available land?
  6. Sorry, I just have to laugh at any mention of Chaos.....the most pointless "coaster" ever. LOL! I happen to love Chaos... yet again the last time I rode it I was about 9 I think?... So it probably be different now lol
  7. I was definitely thinking about this for awhile but I just have been forgetting to post. This would be a great idea because I'm stuck on these podcasts lol.
  8. ^ lol I'm making Opryland recreations too. I lost some of the files so I'll have to go back in and change somethings. I have all the track layouts but not all the theming to them. Chaos is the hardest one though. I try to get them as accurate as possible but that one is so hard to make where it will work with the scenery lol.
  9. Great pics man! This was my first rapids ride and I loved it! It's hard to come around to rapids rides like this now.
  10. I'm attend Tennessee Technological University for a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I want to design amusement rides in general and I'm leaning more towards being a Disney Imagineer. I plan on doing the Disney College Program soon and I want to do some type of Imagineer Internship. I wanted to know if anyone else has any input on what I should do to help me work towards this goal. Also, Disney has their Imagineers to design their rides for them, does Universal Orlando also have their own design team? If so can you give me a little info? I've searched this on the internet but I haven't heard of any type of designing team for Universal. Thanks for any replies!
  11. Well, actually, there is one. I made it a while ago and just let it roll. It's currently got 174 members with little to no promotion. Stuart NEATNESS!!! lol Thanks for the link! Had no idea that was on there lol.
  12. Yea as cool as it sounds, I don't think making a social networking site would do this any better. If thats the case, there could be a facebook group devoted to themeparkreview. I like the personal photo albums and top ten lists ideas. I don't have anything else in mind though. I'll give it some thought and post back. It sounds like the changes are going to be good though!
  13. oh ok, I won't be there till later in the day around 6 maybe... I still really don't know lol. But I know I won't be there that early.
  14. I'm not sure yet, I'm going to be around Nashville and if I had time I was going to swing in there to see what it's looking like. What time will you be there?
  15. I was down there last weekend and I just sat out there wit one of my friends to enjoy the weather. I dont remember seeing any signs of the construction about to start but it wouldn't suprise me if they started sometime this past week. I'll be there again tomorrow and I'll be sure to take pics.
  16. If I owned Dollywood: 2009 - The clean up & RESORT!!! - Expand into Resort with a themed hotel - Add more greenery to the Wilderness Pass Area - Update Rockin' Roadway with more interactive scenery - Improve rapids on Smokey Mountain River Rampage (add more chances to get wet... soaked) - FIX TIMBER TOWER ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! lol (I have no idea of how that could be possible) 2010 - The clean up part 2 - Add concert arena or theater going into the Wilderness Pass around the rear of Blazin Fury - Produce new movie for Thunder Road with new special effects - Add a craftman workshop or store the left of the loop of Tennessee Tornado 2011 - Dollywood gone "WILD" - Incorporate animal exhibits and shows in Wilderness Pass Area - Add a safari type ride in Wilderness Pass Area - New 2nd hotel with animal theme.
  17. That looks neat... I just wonder how they're gonna do the water splashing part.
  18. That was a excellent TR! It looks like a good park, but to bad you didn't get to ride all the stuff. I like the night shots too... are they going to have a water and fireworks show after every night?
  19. I literally just came back from Dollywood today. Me and some friends took a rode trip from college to have fun for a little while. This is my first time back since August. I did see the whole mentioned behind the fences and it doesn't seem like much too me. They are pretty big and now that I think of it, I should have taken a picture. Anyways I don't think its anything special or something to look forward too. BTW I had the BEST day today at Dollywood! lol I didn't get to eat anything but the lines were good and I had fun.
  20. ^ lol that is very true, because I would get so excited about this and it would end up not happening. Not cool at all. It does sound like it has a chance though...
  21. Hello everyone, Another update has been posted on the website. They've updated the website with a new comment from the founders and an art concept of the park. It looks like it would be ok but it seems like there going to start small from the art concept. Here is the comment made by David Webb one of the founders: To the Good Citizens of Middle Tennessee, We at Ole South USA would like to thank you for all of the encouraging emails over the past months regarding this development. Those of us that lived here during the days of Opryland know what a void that was created when Gaylord decided to close Opryland. It is our goal to bring back a wholesome place for people of all ages to visit and make great memories. As mentioned in a previous press release, we have had a feasibility study done that gave us the go-ahead to build the pursue this development. Since the last press release, we have been in negotiations for possible financing with several groups. At this point, we feel we are in the final stages of securing financing for part or possibly all of the resort. We are also bringing people on board that are passionate about the project and willing to put effort into it to see that it happens. As far as the location is concerned, we have our first choice of the Marshall/Maury County location, but we are not locked into that location. We are looking at two other possible locations on the outskirts of Nashville. On this updated website, we have a form that you can fill out to get on a mailing list to receive updates, or if you feel you want to be a part of this development project in any capacity, please feel free to let us know. Thank you for your time and and we look forward to sharing additional news soon regarding Ole South. This is also the link to the website so yall can check out the picture. Click here
  22. I personally like the Smokey Mountain Wilderness Adventure more than Thunder Road. I say that because I liked Dolly's part in the ride and it was more humorous to me. But that's not to say that I don't like Thunder Road, because that is still a good attraction.
  23. ^ Well there is a screamin swing on the Pigeon Forge strip not too far from Dollywood Lane. It's at a place called Smokey Mountain Speed Park and they also have a Skyscraper and their operators are excellent! lol I ride it everytime I go to Pigeon Forge. They have a new Sling Shot this year too, but it's not that tall. I new major show would be good too. Having it open when the resort opens would be good too.
  24. ^ lol yea I don't think so either. Since it does sound like the Dollywood Resort will happen soon, I would say that new resort in Sevierville, Wilderness in the Smokies, isn't going to do as well as planned. Dollywoods Resort would pull in waaaaay more than Wilderness in the Smokies. I think the only big thing Wilderness in the Smokies has to offer is an indoor waterpark, which isn't a bad one, and golf course. While on the other hand, Dollywoods Resort will have a theme park and waterpark, which is excellent! lol. Where would yall picture this Intamin terrain type coaster at? In the Wilderness Pass? It sounds like a good idea!
  25. I'm going in May... 5th through 9th. We wanted go during May because it doesn't rain as much then, but colleges in TN end the week before. So what do yall think? BTW this will be my first time there.
