Ohhh, okay. That's better than nothing. If they give the ride new restraints, won't it make it smoother? Second, is it possible that they could make two exits to this attraction? One that leads back out into the Pirate area and another that leads back into the former Thomas Town themed area? That way you would't always have to walk around, just to see something that is right behind you. New restraints won't help a ride with poor tracking to begin with...IW was B&M's first solo effort so at that time they hadn't fully perfected their ride engineering quality that they'd later become known for.I rode vortex at carowinds in early august & while it had the newer style B&M standup restraints it was still a rough ride & that's a coaster that was built two years after IW.

It's definitely NOT in the two back rows as I experienced nothing but pain on anaconda riding back there. -
The flatspin on the left is clearly from the GL promotional artwork but the sections on the right that we can see so far are different from the GL artwork as there appears to be a black line of sorts near the track. Edit:After looking closely at both images the "black line" that I mentioned above is the curve coming off of the lift so they are in fact both 100% identical images just with the colors changed.

No,the problem was that Premier parks(the original owners of SFA,DL,KK,EG,GL etc). made the mistake of buying six flags from time warner. At the time Premier parks' specialty was buying under financed smaller amusement parks & reinvesting in them to turn them around....they did just that with the former wild world(now SFA) when they bought the place in 92 by adding the rides & attractions that the previous owner couldn't afford to install, heck the park had already been closed for a whole year & was facing demolition when Premier stepped in to save it. Six flags didn't wait long enough to see an ROI on the newly flagged parks...DL got treated worse than we did as all they got of major significance was their ROS coaster while parks like SFA & SFWOA recieved only two years more worth of investments than they did but after that the investments stopped & the attendance fell as a result I mean why do you think I stopped going after the 07 season when a boring waterslide was announced for 08?Had premier NEVER aqquired six flags & kept SFA as Adventure world the park would probably be way better than it is now but of course that didn't happen.

I think you are correct, because I also saw stakes that read GCI out by hurler and thunder road. And I know those wont come true... Congrats to Carowinds for tricking us enthusiasts! Thats always fun to see! Carowinds is really lacking in the good woodie dept. as I found TR to be a rather rough ride for an out & back, especially the left side track but at least they made the entry ramp far less time consuming than KD did for rebel yell. -

While KBF's color scheme looks nice compared to the other three I kinda think it'd be too similar to DT's orange/yellow color combo. -

Supposedly the DA thing is going in between Grizzly & WWC(so much for getting a future B&M invert there) with the rumored windseeker ggoing where HSXLC's vertical tower was. Oh yeah I forgot about that area. I can see Windseeker going where Hypersonic XLC was. They wouldn't ad a B&M Invert because they already have an Intamin. I wish they would add a GCI woodie there. But they would most likely remove Hurler (I never went on it but I heard it's awful). If Dorney can get away with having an invert & two inverted shuttle coasters then I think KD can easily do it as well. Now I didn't ride hurler at carowinds but I've ridden KD's version a few times & it's a horrid ride. I'd love to return to carowinds to check this out sometime(as well as get in some more rides on afterburn) as I thought the park was a great place that CF has done pretty good with thus far & this ride will only make it better, the RFD/carolina boardwalk section is nicely themed and landscaped IMO that's for sure....KD should be taking lessons from them on how to landscape the park. -
You miss the point... Since 2002 We've lost 12 inversions, and we're gaining three, maybe four... with no more room left in the park. You could put a zacspin where wolf is, but that is zero inversions (technically). So... I guess my point is that while I still see good things in store for SFGAM... they will now come at a very high price. The next big coaster they add will have to be at the price of losing Demon/whizzer. After that point there is NOTHING expendable that would fit a big coaster. The park will almost certainly never remove American Eagle, Raging bull, superman, batman, or viper. There is no other place in the park for a coaster. On the other hand... you guys are getting a coaster at the cost of skull mountain... but you have lots of room to expand! Even if SFGAM does get a wingrider (still unsure) I'm picturing that as being another (as one poster put it) "superman ultimate fluff" with few forces and short ride time. For a G-forces fan... that isn't very exciting. Well with that in mind perhaps SFI would take a break from dumping all the cap ex into that park & focus on the smaller parks for the next few years? That's what they really need to do as the previous strategy of adding major rides to SFMM,SFGRADV & SFGRAM while leaving no money to work with for the remaining parks is what really hurt them & in part led to the bankruptcy problem they faced. SFMM in particular is the biggest culprit here because SFI foolishly believes that they need to turn the park into a stricly coasters only facility & are loosing the family market by not providing attractions geared towards them in the form of flat rides & or moderate thrill rides. They seem to forget that the parks are regional attractions, not national ones & that as a result they shouldn't care a hill of beans about what CP adds....SFI had their chance in Ohio ten years ago & they ran the park into the ground by choosing to dump all their capital into SFMM year after year & now SFWOA/GL is history as a result.

Batwing was installed in 01 & replaced a 140 ft tall,3,000 ft long B&M standup that had previously been approved by PG county as part of a multi-ride package that the park ultimately never recieved when SFI started playing favorites with SFMM,SFGRADV & SFGRAM for the past ten years. The last "adult" ride the park recieved on the dry side was PBR in 03. & since then they've lost more rides than they've added. A little bit of the favoritism were things that Burke had line up for the future. I believe El Tora at Great Adventure was approved by Burke. But all the other things like Buccaneer Battle at Great America, Goliath at Over Georgia and a few others were approved by Shapiro because they came much later after Burke was left. Either that or he just had a huge line up. But even with ride renovations, Shapiro could have showed us some love and never did. As far as it being Bizarro, I doubt it. Six Flags still has the licensing agreement with Warner Bros/DC Comics, but don't you think Bizarro left with Shapiro? SFOG's goliath, along with La Ronde's was signed off on by Burke & Co. for 06 as it wasn't until the start of the 06 season that Snyder & Shapiro took control...remember Shaprio's :no more goliaths" speech? he gave that in response to wanting to make the chain consist of all the cost effective wiggles world/thomas town kiddie sections which of course didn't go over well in the end so they went back to the thrill ride stuff that Burke had already been doing for years. I was hoping Snyder & Shapiro would've turned SFA around but they made the place worse by adding the stupid prefered parking & loker crap that turned most rides into pay per ride attractions but what caused me to stop going after the 07 season was the stupid addition of yet another cheapo waterslide that we didn't need when flats or a new coaster were what the park really needed.

I live 10 minutes south of Stafford and was awake during the aftershock, it was barely noticeable. The floor shook a bit and my bed wiggled. I've had far more seismic activity occur in bed than what happened last night. TMI Steve,TMI. -
I think SFMM was doing well before the whole coaster war thing took over(after all it's only been going on for about a decade now) otherwise the park wouldn't have lasted as long as it has....the park has develpoed the reputation of no longer being a family oriented park because of this rather stupid & pointless coaster war & as a result strayed from the formula of providing something for everyone that once worked so well in it's early history. Remember how adding scream in 03 did nothing to help boost SFMM's attendance?

KD, WoF, and Dorney will most likely get one. Valleyfair and CGA have height limits. Dorney has a height limit of, I believe, up to 210 feet depending on the point in the park. So that kinda narrows it down to KD & WOF then. -
Better yet, since SFNE will have 2 boomerangs next to each other, then Magic Mountain needs to recover whats left of the Batman/Shockwave Stand Up coaster that use to be at SFMM and return it to its rightful spot.....Two Stand Ups is what the park needs! No,you guys can have IW as a consolation prize.

Good lord I hope there wasn't any injuries or damage....my sister lives in Stafford & she posted on her FB this morning that they had another aftershock overnight in her area, they had one early wednesday morning too. Back to 2012:I hope we get at least a windseeker,I've ridden flying ace & it gives me vertigo at only 85 feet so just imagine what a 300 ft. tall version of that ride would be like.....with only lapbars instead of the more secure feeling of the OTSR on flying ace. -

KD, WoF, and Dorney will most likely get one. Valleyfair and CGA have height limits. Dorney's getting invertigo from CGA so they're ruled out & from what I'd read it was three total that were purchased so with carowinds getting one that still leaves two more....hopefully one of those two is going to KD. -

The wave swinger ride has a somewhat complex tilting system that would probably be difficult to engineer into a ride this size but who knows?perhaps Mondial is already working on it? -
Dominator is doing the SAME thing no matter which train you ride with the rattle & vibrations becoming more & more progressive the further into the ride you go but seems to be smoother toward the front, granted I havn't had any front seat rides in over a year now due to the wait times being so long......Carowind's intimidator on the otherhand was smooth from start to finish both times I rode it earlier in the month

Ohh no it wouldn't. Last time they tried it about ten years ago they had to discontinue it after fights began breaking out at rides. -

Well Dominator has gotten a bit rougher over the past three years so I can understand their point. Let's get back to speculating on what may be coming for 2012 shall we? My vote (and hope) is for a windseeker. -

This should add very well to carowinds' selection of flats as that seems to be the one thing that the park is really lacking based on my visit that I made about 3 weeks ago....the atmosphere & themeing of that particular area is already very good so this will provide a great way for peeps to really take it all in.
