Photo TR: The Holy Land Experience 4/9/05
FlyingScooter replied to BarryH's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
LOL, i love it! A few of the Churches around Cleveland have restaurants attached to them. there's a Catholic church called the cloyster... yup, they sell oysters... my favorite is: (drumroll please....) Methodish! you guessed it, they serve Metho-deepdish-pizza. And i was raised Methodist... lol I like the idea of a religious theme park. Holy-Roller coaster. Judas, Ride of Deception! Imagine the side shows: Watch Flaming Hail before your very eyes! Sounds like a Heritage USA on steroids. -

^mulch, I'm not trying to make anyone feel guilty. A guy hits the lottery and is a multi-millionaire. great. a lady works 80 hrs a week to support two kids> also great. In the long run, to other people, it doesn't really matter where we get our money from. Peace... -

everyone has the chance for a get out of jail free card, they just need money. And the beauty is: it does not matter how you get it. One of the the reasons Ihave the stance i do is this: I volunteered working w/court refered Juvy's for 9 yrs. These kids will not believe you when you tell them that they are better off working for what they want instead of selling drugs for money. One of the kids i tutored, some 8 yrs ago, is currently worth over 3 million bucks. He has a house valued at 1 mil in a burb of Cleveland. The cops that got close to him, he just paid off. I guess we could all sell drugs. I choose not to. I'll get off my soap box. (sorry if i went overboard) -

I guess here's a way to look at it. Though i do not agree with this. I'm a professional athlete, i should not be treated the same as anyone else because i've got tons of cash and, sorry, you don't... Why should i have to wait for anything, my time is worth more than yours. And while were at it, why should i have to pay more taxes than you? I spend more money, which other people benefit from and they pay taxes on that... ' the above is a paraphrased quote from a Cleveland ohio athlete that got busted for possession of nearly half a key of pot. a few yrs back. He served, like two weeks in jail. you or i would've gotten 5 yrs easy. as much as i hate to admit it: This country is all about money. The haves and the have nots. Flying(not all about the Benjamins, baby) Scooter. -
Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
FlyingScooter replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Most rides at any given fair. If you ever want to hear metal stress, go to the fair. other than that: Ferris Wheels. I hate Ferris Wheels. I can't stand the things. I always thought that if an accident occured on one, you'd have too much time to think before dying. -

^Very well said! I'm against the Extra charge q-bot stuff. I pay to get into a park and that should be that/ I don't mind waiting in line, but to pay extra and jump to head of the line just seems wrong. -
^lol, You're right, though. the pics of the slightly burned firefighter helmits looked spooky. the accident occured in the early AM hours. People weren't even notified until over of 12 hrs later, so it's concievable that the park was open when during the heavier fall-out period... I wonder if the Paratrooper ride cars were bodied in plastic and they just melted away or if they were just metal to begin with.

Change mine to something new, if you please. Thanks, elissa!

Waterparks Discussion
FlyingScooter replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My local waterparks: Dover Lake Park. Pioneer waterland. Geauga Lakes water park. Cedar Points water park, Great Wolf lodge, Kalahari. Wildwood water park (defunct). I liked wildwood much more than Dover or Pioneer. There was way more to do and it was cheaper. -

Chippewa Lake: medina ohio, is easy enough to access via the beach, but you've got to be careful. There are packs of dogs in there that are pretty much wild. We went there last winter, took some pics. We were going to go in and then about 5 dogs came out of the overgrowth and charged the fence. Viscious, to say the least. We bagged out and might try again this summer. If anyone checks that place out, BE CAREFUL. -
