  1. Old news. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39881 Seriously, it's on the same bloody page. Don't post topics without checking to see if they've been posted already. There are many ways to do this, including just scrolling down 3 inches.
  2. I'm really glad that Intamin is becoming the premier coaster company, as well as that they're building this particular model. I prefer non-inverters, and this looks like a great ride, truly a mini-hyper. The airtime also looks intense. Although I don't see myself making a trip to Demark anytime soon.
  3. If I felt safe that there would be no problems with the park's system, and it was cheaper, I'd definitely start getting my ride photos online.
  4. I think the layout could be really fun, but I have a problem with a few things. My biggest problem is actually the fact that it has about 5 brakes followed by launches. I don't like the slow down, speed up, slow down, speed up, etc. Any type of pacing the ride might have had was thrown out the window. And I know that a lot of those brakes were there to increase train count and capacity, but the fact is that I'm only gonna be riding one train at a time, and capacity isn't that important if it costs the ride the word "great". What I personally think would have made this better is: rather than have launch, brake, launch, brake, have it go through one launch, and then as the train loses some of the speed from the first one, it goes through another unbraked launch (sort of like a booster). Also, all the past-vertical ascents and descents didn't seem quite right to me. I noticed a little sort of pumping going on, and it just didn't work. In the end, I feel like you have great potential, and should in no way let this discourage you. The way it seems to me is that you tried too hard to make a long, epic coaster, but the potential just wasn't there. Good luck, I look forward to more downloads from you. I hope you still put this level of work into all your coasters, but you need to feel when a coaster has run it's course.
  5. ^Now that's a good idea. I get the feeling this person just wanted to advertise their shirt though, so I doubt they'll ever read that.
  6. I'm nothing of an expert on inverts (having only been on 3), but here's my ranking: 1. Talon 2. Great Bear 3. B:TR (SFGAdv)
  7. 1999- Twister 2001- Nitro 2005-Kingda Ka 2007- Maverick
  8. I really hope these type of restraints catch on. I can think of a ton of coasters that would benefit from these (*cough*Intamin*cough*). In fact, any coaster with OSTRs would be so much better with soft restraints. I think this is the first thing I've seen Vekoma do right.
  9. Irregardless is considered to be improper, however not entirely wrong. It's been debated over and over through history. Nobody knows for sure if it's considered correct or not. As for worst ride name, I have to agree that Pony Express, while historically cool, is just kind of lame. Roller coasters and ponies don't mix so well.
  10. Ahhhh. So it will be multicolored. Not as bad, although I still wish they had gone without the yellow.
  11. This would be so much cooler if the track wasn't that ugly impulse yellow. I know color doesn't really matter all that much, but it would have looked awesome with dark blue track and red supports!

    ERT

    Thanks!
  13. Wouldn't friction overcome the gravitational force though? The moon has 1/6 the gravity of Earth. Is that strong enough to overcome the friction (although there isn't air resistance)? I suppose you probably could get a coaster to work on the moon, just not very well.

    ERT

I hear it mentioned constantly on the site, and I get what it basically is, but what exactly is ERT?
  15. Coasters wouldn't work on the moon....
  16. I think I found it at first on Google, but didn't really like the way it was set up. A while later, a family friend asked me if I'd ever been to TPR, and was saying how awesome it was (I believe he described it as "a bunch of rich people who go around riding every coaster on the planet. It's soo funny!"), which kind of inspired me to go back on. I slowly got more interested, and now I'm madly in love with TPR.
  17. - What board do you read first? TP, RC, and D - How often do you visit? Every day, once a week, NEVER! At this point, way too much. At least twice a day. In a month or so I'll become a little less addicted, and even out to a normal once every day or so. - How many pages through each board do you read? (meaning do you read just the first page of topics or multiple pages?) I mostly stay on the first page of threads, although now that the thought has entered my mind I'm sure I'll start onto the next pages. - Are there certain types of posts you read more than others? I very rarely read TRs. I basically just read whatever is interesting to me, usually rumor or "what's your opinion on..." sorts of threads. - Do you do anything else besides reading the forum (chat room, profile, searching, main site photos, etc) Not really. Although I have discovered that I suck at Tic Tac Toe. - Tell us anything else you want about your TPR visits. I think the most interesting part of coaster sites, especially this one, are finding peoples opinions on all the things going on in the coaster world. A lot of coaster sites can give you an insight on different things, but it's all the laughs along the way that makes TPR, in my mind, the best.
  18. I feel kind of silly asking this question, but: will there be less or more people there than usual?
  19. Them taking it out might have something to do with it being a "barf machine" .
  20. Holy balls. That's pretty lucky.
  21. I'm glad this is leaving: Batman and Robin: The Chiller. Seriously, that ride was THIS FUDGING LOUD, and I always felt awful after getting off. I'm yet to enjoy a coaster that goes through it's entire course, then goes through it again backwards.
  22. Take your own advice, man. Nothing pisses me off more than people who don't take the time to put their post in a readable form. I think maybe Robb should put a 24-day ban on anyone who doesn't use a single punctuation mark in their entire post. Anyway, X2 seems like it'll be really cool. I'm optimistic about SF's future, and so I think with a little effort, X2 could end up an amazing ride.
  23. ^^Does anyone know what actually happened when TTD got stuck at the top? I know there are brakes at the top of KK, and so I'm thinking that was an E-stop.
