If it is busy, there's a single rider line. Enter through the exit. For the best experience, ride in the first row of the last car of the train. Six Flags seems to be pretty happy with S&S lately. Or got a deal too good to refuse. Yeah those free spin 4D coasters seem pretty attractive. They're comfortable, thrilling, relatively cheap compared to most new steel coasters, have a small footprint and fit in parks with height restrictions, decent capacity, and they bring people into the park. I'd buy one.

Surprised I didn't see this sooner, I like this thread! B&M - Flying coasters. Especially Starry Sky Scraper. Intamin - This is a tough one, Intamin has a lot of great designs. People will crucify me for saying it, but I absolutely love the ZacSpin. I love the russian roulette style experience, you never know if you'll get killed, get a great ride, or get absolutely nothing. Not knowing is awesome. Premier - Launched Spaghetti Bowl S&S - 4D Free Spin Arrow - 4th Dimension (X was originally an Arrow before it became S&S) Vekoma - Definitely the GIB. Need to get out to SFNE to visit Deja Vu soon. Zamperla - Motocoasters are fun. Mack - I am a sucker for spinning coasters, I love that the ride is different every lap. I love Undertow at SCBB.

If I thought they did it on purpose I'd say it's genius, but come on, this is SFMM, there's no way. It's just bizarre, it gets steadily whiter every time I go there, it almost looks like Colossus now, which is painted. That's definitely part of it. As someone who lives about a block from an In-N-Out, it's not the best burger ever, but it's one of the most affordable burgers and it is still really good especially for the price. They got better once I learned you can request chopped grilled onions instead of the normal way which is putting an entire raw onion on the burger...gross.

I don't think parts are an issue, as far as I know S&S still supplies parts for most Arrow models. Not like KBF probably having to machine all their parts for Montezooma. I know at WCB Jeff G. mentioned that for that reason Montezooma was easily the most expensive ride in the park to maintain, even more than Xcelerator.

I dont think the park is in any rush to remove Gold Rusher. There's no way Apocalypse feels like Gold Striker, Gold Striker is miles smoother than Apocalypse. The retracking helped, but it just took it from being unbearably painful to being moderately uncomfortable...it's still not smooth by any means. Nowhere near the miracle that was performed on Ghostrider.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
singemfrc replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ghostrider at KBF...10 times in a row, thanks to TPR WCB! -
The park told us directly yesterday that Ghostrider is going down for maintenance beginning today. They said that Xcelerator is also going down at the same time for cable replacement. They elaborated by saying that to expect Ghostrider to still undergo roughly the same maintenance schedule from now on, though at least for now it's not for retracking. It's more for hardware adjustments due to natural changes in the new wood. One trivia tidbit I found particularly interesting is that they said that the refurb was 3 years in the making and that one inspiration for part of the reprofiling (particularly taking out the mcbr) was Gold Striker at CGA. They said they liked how it ran full out from start to finish and never slowed down, and I think they did a great job achieving that same experience with the refurb. And yes that means GhostRider is definitely back. I got 10 laps in yesterday but could have done twice that if there were enough time. There is no more discomfort in this ride, it's simply fantastic. You get more air in the front, but the back row is nice too as I feel like I get more lateral G's as you get whipped around the corners. In this condition it's the best traditional woodie on the west coast. It's also my new favorite overall night ride. That new lighting package is perfect. Knott's and GCI hit it out of the park with this project. Completely blew away my expectations of just how much better they could make the ride, but at the same time I'm not surprised as that's the kind of people that run Knott's.

West Coast Bash 2016 Tickets On Sale!
singemfrc replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
45 minutes since the park opened to the public and Ivery already done Revolution, Apocalypse, Yolo, Superman twice, X2 twice, and Twisted Colossus twice! X2 didn't open on time with ert (shocking) but I ended up timing it perfect as it opened right when I got off of revolution, and got a double ride. Not smooth, but a little less painful than usual. Think I'm ready to hit jet stream and cool off in the Yolo bar for a while. -

You will still get in, but you may miss the beginning of ERT due to picking up your credentials at will call. -
Thanks for the insight. Sounds like MM is like GAm. I visited GAdv late August and I was surprised by the short wait times. Of course I never go to any SF on weekend and it seems weekdays everywhere are pretty great. Of course there is a slight spike on the bring a friend free days, but that's not even that bad. I'll tell you when the shortest wait times are - 9/10/2016 from 8:30-10:30am and from 8pm-Midnight!

I'm actually a California local who recently took that same trip to Cedar Point a couple of falls ago. Got to ride GateKeeper, no Rougarou yet, but I got a Mantis credit. Pleasantly surprised actually, second favorite stand up behind Riddlers. I went on a pretty short day but was still able to ride all the coasters, and a few multiple times. Only thing I wanted but missed was Wind Seeker, which was, ironically, closed due to wind. -

Yeah I know what you mean. Thats why it pays to stay at KBFH, just go walk over to your room and take a nap. And yeah, I've had the same issue with Ghostrider, so I plan on spending most of the night ERT on it as well as least one or two laps in the morning. -

I got my tickets last week and I was just wondering if this email had the WCB schedule? I checked all my inbox and spam folder but haven't received an email with WCB details yet. Thanks again for the help. Nope the "big bad" email hasnt gone out yet, but don't worry. It typically comes 1-3 days before the event. I'm guessing we'll get it tomorrow, but it could be Thursday. I believe we got it on Wednesday last year. The important stuff, tentatively: Parking lot at SFMM reportedly opens at 7 on Saturday. Check in should start ~7:30 given that the park opens (for us) at 0830. Park opens at 1030 to public. Park closes at 2000, we get the park to ourselves from 2000-2400. KBF check in may be harder to guess depending on if there are events in the morning before ERT. Beyond that, worst case, you'll find out when you get there! -
Yeah the park never opens on random weekdays during weekend operation. It's always because of some kind of holiday or reason that they expect high demand for people to want to go to the park that day. Wow. I knew X2 was reopening soon but didn't expect Apocalypse. That's good news, I hope to ride it during WCB then since I haven't been able to get a lap on it in about 3 years.

You can basically get all that right now, you just have to buy them separate.Gold Season Pass: what is it usually, $120? I'm on a membership so I forget. Season flash pass is $800. (BTW currently on sale for $399 - that's a hell of a deal!) Gold Dining Pass: $200 That's only about $1120 for unlimited admission, parking, food, drinks, and flash passes all year. The Sky Tower normally functions as a pretty nice lounge as it has ice cold air conditioning..too bad it isn't working. There are several places around the park where you can sit down and cool off like the cyber lounge or the YOLOBar. For a super cheap alternative if you arent eating and just want to loiter - the Orient Express is air conditioned.

Nah, I just got a great deal, I booked it a while back through Groupon. I think KBFH usually goes for $100-$120/night with no discounts. Still worth it for the convenience of being able to walk back to your room from the park. I used to do the same thing with Hilton Garden Inn at Magic Mountain, but now they're wanting $150-200/night so it's no longer worth it.
