obviously, and I get water cups, it's just one of those things where it's like.. just add a few more dollars to the dining pass price if needed and include a drink. make it a true "meal". I don't know and it's no biggie, I don't want to whine too much about it. haha and I love that about the Premature Heart Disease pass description. that cracked me up. Perhaps they're counting on customers buying drinks at full price to counteract the dining pass discount.

Here are the tips they gave out to us: 1. The further a target is away/the smaller it is, the more points it is worth. 2. Always go for the tokens/coins before enemies, they're worth more. 3. It doesnt matter how many shots you get in on the boss, you want to be the one to land the fatal shot, it's worth a lot more.

Oh it makes a difference. Last year at West Coast Bash I got on Iron Reef in the morning and was doing absolutely terrible consistently getting the worst score in the group, and I felt like it didn't make any difference what I did. At lunch a couple of the guys from KBF gave us a few tips. Using what they told me I was immediately getting scores so high I would have won the day's contest if I had known earlier. Not sure if JL will have the same rules, but I bet it will be similar.

Same here, but I usually end up skipping a couple each trip, then the next trip I make a point to hit whatever I skipped the last time. I haven't ridden Batman, Superman, or Scream since 2014 and I havent ridden Revolution or Apocalypse since 2013. Too bad I still won't be able to get Apocalypse this year during WCB, but I'm going to make sure to do Batman, Scream, and Superman. With all this ERT we have for West Coast Bash it shouldn't be hard to do everything with plenty of time left over. If Superman isn't on the morning ERT I'm going to hit it right when the park opens to the public, it's usually dead at that time. In fact doing Superman, Batman, and Scream at that time might be a great idea. There will absolutely be a Green Lantern marathon at some point in the day!

Sigh, yeah those kind of questions are mind numbing. When you take the time to write out a giant FAQ and people email questions that are clearly already answered in it, it extremely disrespectful, because they won't take the time to read the FAQ you took the time to write. Those kind of questions to me just fall on deaf ears. They don't even deserve an angry reply. -
Yeah X2 is still in the "painful, but I'll ride it once per day" category. As of my last visit to the mountain, Viper finally crossed the line into unrideable...but I forgot about the magic arrow seat. I will definitely give it a go in that spot next month and see if it's salvageable. I'm the kind of person that will do anything within reason to make a unpleasant ride better. All the more reason it should be no surprise. Knotts had always closed it during the same time of the year, if you're going during that time, you should know it's closed. To ask TPR to move the event or the park to change their maintenance schedule is just ridiculous. Besides, the events are tons of fun regardless of what rides are open. I'd still go if ALL the coasters were closed. I think you're doing the right thing right now in just hand picking people. I do hope you'll keep doing WCB as long as possible. The majority of us really enjoy it and are grateful for the work you do to put it on. I literally take stupid and abusive questions for a living, so it doesn't get to me as much anymore. If you ever want someone to just answer/filter stupid questions via email or something, I'd be happy to volunteer to whatever I could to shoulder some of that burden if it helps us keep these great events that we couldn't do without you.

Not really. I know full well there are lot of TPRers who did these past tours like myself, and already have/had X2 under their belts. For myself, I rode the first one (Japan) in my mid-50s, and the second one before turning 60 (China)! But not X2.....yet. So...it's an age thing I guess. (And it is the original of the three, yes?) Hey that's still nothing to sneeze at. I don't think very many people who weren't on the TPR tours have done that. I would love to ride Eejanaika and Dinoconda some day, time timing has just never been right for me. Starry Sky Scraper is at the very top of my bucket list so Dinoconda might be the next 4D that I get.

Yeah, I'm hoping to ride it just so I can claim (if that) all three of them ridden, in the world. Woo hoo. #Bracingformylife Nice, that's a pretty impressive feat. I think smaller people like KT riding on the inside are probably OK, but having been beaten senseless on the ride I can certainly understand you keeping her off of that and also Green Lantern since I think she'll be tall enough for that for the first time this year. GL isn't always but can be much rougher than X2 depending on the weight distribution.

Morning ERT cocktails, post morning ERT cocktails, nap cocktails, etc. Noted. I am also staying at the Knott's Hotel for my entire visit, which includes Disney. Me too. With the parks being an hour's drive apart, it's a complete toss up which way you want to do it. You could stay near MM on Saturday night to be able to get to sleep soon and get up an hour earlier in the morning to drive to Knotts, or you could stay at Knotts on Saturday night which means youll have to drive that hour at night after MM, but then that means that in the morning you can just wake up and walk down to check in. Last year I stayed at HGI Valencia Friday and Knots Saturday & Sunday, but waiting in line to KBFH in the middle of the night Saturday night wasted valuable sleep time so this year I'm just staying at KBFH all three nights...also HGI decided to raise their prices like 75% so that made the decision easier. I can't believe anyone would complain that we get TOO MUCH to do! It's already a crazy value when you think about everything we're getting for basically just the price of a regular ticket. Utilize some caffeine if you need to, and stay at the Knotts Hotel and you can just walk over and nap in your hotel room in between events in the middle of the day, I sure plan to. -
In the past, Ghostider has gotten some maintenance time in the weeks leading up to haunt, but it's hard to say how it's going to run now post-renovation. But, GhostTown Alive continues through Sept 5th, so I doubt GR would be down until after then. And not until after Sept.11 (after WCB), I'm hopin'. normally, it's been closed for WCB. but, it's also not run a whole year yet since refurbishment. i'd guess it will be open. True, they usually close it in September for maintenance (I go in September most years and it's always closed), but they aren't doing that this year. I know that they definitely plan to have it open for WCB, but you can never guarantee something unexpected won't happen to it between now and then. Due to the aforementioned bad timing I have, I've actually only ridden GhostRider once before, and it was when it was rough. Every other time I've been to the park it's been down for retracking. I'm really looking forward to getting several laps on it, especially at night. Last year I ended the night on TMLR, this year I'm going to finish with a GR marathon! I'm also hoping we do another Iron Reef contest this year. Last year I got a lot better at it after the contest was over.

I hope you get a chance to ride X2; it's a very unique credit that only exists in three places in the world, this is the only one in the western hemisphere. The back half of the ride has gotten quite rough, but it's all worth it for that first drop which I still think is the best of any coaster in the world. If you enjoyed Insane, then you'll like Green Lantern. The main difference is that SFMM sets up Green Lantern to flip less. This sometimes results in boring rides where you dont flip at all, sometimes if you get an off balanced car you can get a great ride, and sometimes you roll snake eyes and get one of the rides that just tries to rip your face off. Most people do consider Riddlers to be the best of the stand up coasters, so it's a good first one. They're dropping like flies around the world though, so get one while you can. I think MM's will probably be around longer than most since people seem to have a higher opinion of it and MM presumably has no interest in another floorless coaster. I haven't heard any specific reason that X2 has been down, so I don't think you can say they will "more than likely" be closed, for all we know it could open tomorrow. Well its not like they *have* to have it open just because TPR said they would have ERT on it. I would figure that if Robb listed it on the page, then that means that the ride doesn't have scheduled annual maintenance or he would have left it off, but if it's something unscheduled Robb would have no way of predicting that obviously and neither he nor the park should be blamed for that.

But also remember that T-Shirts are handed out during Knotts check-in and if you are late, they may be out of your size. Also last year there were early morning tours and the tickets/passes for that were handed out in the order you check in, so I'll try to get there as early as I can and nap later. Last year at Knotts two of my favorites were bright in the morning after check in before ERT. The backstage photo op of GhostRider, and the maintenance bay tour of Sierra Sidewinder. The Sidewinder tour was especially cool to geek out on since it's one of a kind. I'm anxious to hear what great stuff Robb and Elissa set up for us this year. -

I am very much looking to finishing off WCB Sunday night with several consecutive night rides on Ghost Rider. I hope I'm still upright at that point. With SFMM ERT going until midnight on Saturday night, if KBF check in is close to what it was last year (6:30am) that means like 4 hours of sleep if I'm lucky. Welp, that's what NoDoz is for, and thats one reason I'm staying at KBF Hotel - easy access to take an afternoon nap in between events if I need to. -

Let me help you: FOUR HOUR PARK BUYOUT. -
If packed was the best word to describe it, then I would have to say it's going to be packed. Stupid packed. This. Easily the busiest day of the season. Buy Fright Lane, Fast Lane, any line skipping passes you can find, you'll need 'em. That's the Sunday before Halloween which is on a Monday, so most people will be out partying Saturday and Sunday instead. If you're based in Sacramento you could do what I usually do which is to hit CGA early in the morning when it opens, and then drive the extra hour down to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to relax later in the day. CGA is less likely to be busier at opening since most people will be coming for Haunt at night, and SCBB, though probably still to be busy because of the holiday weekend, won't have the stupid level night crowds that CGA is likely to have. You could also go to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, it will still be busy, but it's a shorter drive (50-60 min versus 120 to CGA).
