^Maybe we can meet up and ride it together when it opens, since you seem to be European too, obviously ! Does anyone remember when Furious Baco was announced ? Because if footers go in quick enough, they won't be able to hide the project much longer. To be honest, I was playing devil's advocate in my previous post about the manufacturer. Which I also believe to be B&M, but it's true B&M have a fair amount of projects already, so who knows ? Does any connoisser here can tell if the way the footer holes are placed in a way which indicate a manufacturer instead of another ? I'm dying to know. The wait is ABNORMAL -

I semi agree with the location problem. As you may notice from my nametag, I ADORE Khan. I also consider this is one of the ignored / underrated coaster marvels of the world. So maybe it will share some of the limelight the new beast will bring after all. As I said, it would be nice to have Khan refreshed for the opportunity. We also haven't seen the layout of it. I guess maybe the engineers took BENEFIT of Khan's location for possible interactions / headchopper effects... Also, IF this turns out to be a giga (one can dream), I'm not sure many will complain. Also another thing: a park may NOT be very happy with a manufacturer's ride, and still order more later ! CP is the perfect example with TTD... but later came Maverick... and Raptor is probably one of the most reliable coasters at the Point. Still: only 2 B&M's ! -
What is your next park?
Dragon Khan replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Probably in this exacto order: Plopsaland Halloween / Walibi Halloween / Winter Plopsa / and.... Asterix at Easter for the opening of the new invert ! -
B&Ms future launch and 4d coasters
Dragon Khan replied to krakenmaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, I had already seen this amazing video too. This guy rocks at kit bashing. His "Type 2" concept may be a bit far fetched (I'm doubtful as the possibility of sending 2 trains on a same spin, knowing the forces would be totally different in one layout or the other), but the 4D is probably feasible with a single rail mechanism... -
maybe I just WANT it to be the best since it's in my homepark, but wasn't Turbine (ex Sirocco) supposed to be the one with the strongest launch ? Heard this from many very travelled enthusiasts and was so proud I had this near me lol. Speaking of which, I'm not sure if the project of enclosing the WHOLE track for next year ala speed of sound is still "on track" but activity has been heard these pas t weeks in Turbine's building. Is it for restauration or for Zoo Terror again (Halloween haunt) ? As much as I WANT Turbine to reopen, I'm slowly losing hope of riding it again. May I be proven wrong

Ron Toomer has Passed Away
Dragon Khan replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fantastic video documentary ! I really regret I never got to ride DF, smooth or rough, it was a giant leap for arrow out of their "comfort zone" with awesome looking elements... I have a feeling some "meh" rides will now have a kind of sentimental status in members' hearts...a bit like Schwarzkopf coasters, in a way... -

Makes me want to watch his older interviews. I remember seeing footage of him showing off the scaled model, then the full sized one at the Utah plant, of the Pipeline coaster. Too bad they never worked properly, because that would have been one more "trophy" to his list... -

I'm in a state of shock. Some may bring the coat-hanger building way up, but with the technology of the time, 2 thumbs up for Ron Toomer. the big arrow loopers and Maggie are orphan Those creations were more important to coaster developpement than Levy, probably -

^no doubt about that. But for the people who can't attend in München but are incidentally in Germany in July / August for instance, a "SAMPLE" of the atmosphere can be had... kind of "apetizer" to make people come back to really see THE big one. -

Dragon Khan replied to mrtickles's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oktoberest is indeed the holy grail of funfairs, but really, you can sample the atmosphere of it a nearly every German fair which has Olympia Looping. Beer Tents are at all of the German fairs, as well as giant Ferris Wheels, Starflyers, insane flats... It's just that Oktoberfest is the biggest. But herne, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Düren... all those fairs are just AWESOME. Are there any evidence that Olympia is indeed retiring ? I've heard that for years, but I doubt the Barth family gets rid of THE treasure... -

or again, something was lost in translation and it's only the lift system that is similar to PP's ? -

Good thing about this new coaster somehow interacting with Dragon Khan, is that I guess (hope) Khan will get a fresh paint job. I feel like my favourite coaster ever lacks a bit of love... And am I crazy to STLL hope for Europe's first giga here ? I know "everyone strongly believes" in the 78 meter drop rumour... yes, exactly: a rumour. So why not 90 after all (300ft) Am I daydreaming ? -

^had never even thought about the possibility of Mack creating a huge ride, but this sounds exciting ! I rode BF this summer and was pleasantly surprised. Gotta love those seat / restraints ! -

Since only rumours so far have appeared ( absolutely NO certitude it's a B&M... just strong rumours) and since B&M are already building more coasters than usual in the recent years... might this one be Intamin after all ? I also believe in the B&M rumour, but the fact the announcement is so slow to come makes me think (hope) there might be more than "just" an hyper. Giga number 2 ? -
Most Exciting 2012 Coaster...
Dragon Khan replied to RollerCoasterSmi's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Very surprised I was the only one to vote for Port Aventura. They rarely build "tame" rides, and the supposed B&M hyper announcement is extremely slow to come. Might there be more than what we think / expect there ? Might Leviathan "just" be the first of more giga's ? -
What is the best floorless?
Dragon Khan replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Proud to say the best Floorless is European : Superman Atracion de Acero @ Warner Parque Madrid. (I have ridden this plus Bizarro, Batman at SFNE, Dominator at its 2 different locations) I just love the straight (air !) drop and the hill before the corkscrews. The giant Immelmann is cool too -
What is the Best B&M Stand-Up Coaster

I heard about a spinning stand up coaster a long time ago... this would be the deal ! -

As stupid as it may seem, putting in a giga after a hyper works. At least with me (and I have a feeling I'm not the only one) . Indeed, this park already attracted me before (never been there) but the fact I can ride a giga as a "bonus" won't hurt. Maybe I would have left this park behind while planning a personal road trip, but I would include it WITHOUT A DOUBT NOW. Of course, I would ALSO have prefered an Intamin (not just because X is better than Y or Y is better than X) but just for the sake of variety. Some people would like to own a Ferrari and a Lamborghini, some people would prefer 2 Ferraris, some 2 Lambo's... -

For those who want to follow this project, Panoramix has posted new pics on the usual website. Look at the new inversion ! Looks like crossing between corkscrew and zero-G roll. One more inversion (this time zero G roll close to the station) to come and a low to the ground spiral will soon complete the track. B&M can be original, can't they ? I love the inversion sequel ! and this "laake" dive should be fun too... -

Although I'm in Belgium, if the Bash is included in a bigger trip like Bizarro Bash was "included" in NE and East Coast Bash was included in TRTCP, then, hell YESSSS ! I have to justify flying overseas but this is a good starting point for my next trip -

You're right, Robb. I was secretely hoping this image would be fake but the "background" story makes me feel it's real. Maybe we can hope for some "Stengel dive" like turns, like on Dutch Goliath ? and as a sidenote, Bluefire restraint system is something B&M should have a look at. They work great even with lateral force inversions !!! -

Seems I'm the only one to wish for a giant multilooper. They don't build them anymore... if it interacts with an old arrow, it would "loop the loop", in a way, and that would be totally different from Behemoth.
