The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update
Dragon Khan replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hey, my friend ! I DO have a topple tower at my closest park (Bellewaerde), it's called El Volador, the theming is great and I believe it was the first OR the second ever built. Funny you mention GCI, since Bellewaerde is in desperate need for a new coaster, and its forest and animal environment would be a perfect background for a woodie... Dunno why but I have a feeling if we get a new coaster at that park, it WILL be a woodie -
The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update

WHAT A BLAST !!! Had a whale of a time, folks. Gosh how great this trip has been... If only I hadn't received a phone call from mum yesterday before I left the hotel, saying my granddad had just passed away, it would have been perfect. Indeed, double pain for me on the 18th: the loss of my last grandparent and the fact I had to leave my newfound friends till next trip. Elissa and Robb Santa Claus Alvey, Thanks for the unbelievable amount of work you've put in for everybody's satisfaction. Vanja, it was cool to room with you, you're the most reliable alarm clock on earth. Hope you had fun exploding your coaster counter ! See you at one of my gigs in Flanders soon! Jay "used to be long haired but has just cut it" Hill , thanks for the organisation of the pregame which made me feel more comfortable, as I was a newbie. Canadian Jay flatride dude, you rock. Had so much fun hangin' out with you, b*tch ! John Miller, let's ride some Schwarzkopfs together again ! And to the 2 flyin' Dutchmen (Selwyn and John), good to meet you. Can't wait to ride some stuff one of these days in Belgium or Holland. Can't wait to see lots of others, Kerry, David and Eli , Nick, Wagner and Stefany kiddie credit whores, Bas, Drew, Chris and Darren, Taylor,And my final thoughts go to Nana... Thanks for ... well, where should I start ? No need to write any further, dudette, you know the soft spot you occupy in my heart already... in a nutshell: BEST VACATION EVER. 2009, Beat That ! -
GAdv Opening Weekend Photo TR!
Dragon Khan replied to ElToroExtreme's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah Jay, happy to know someone takes care of cars that much. I'm gonna invite you to visit Europe one day, offer you b&b at home, drive you to parks... all this against some expert treatment for my car from you. Believe me, guy, my Picasso deserves it ! lol -
Oh, his highness Robb... Just tell me you have the whole POV of my all time favourite Dragon Khan... PLEASE ! I have dozens of onride footages of this great ride, but not one is good... even the pseudo pro video version of World's greatest Coaster Thrills in 3D sucks, in my opinion. The passages I see of it in your video seem millions times better. I have also tried to film it myself, but the result is just crap... Please Sir Robb, king of the best rollercoaster site in universe, do me the favour

Your Craziest Trip?
Dragon Khan replied to sixflagsguy5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My greatest trip so far, was in 2001. I flew from Belgium to NY City with my father and nephew, visited for 5 days, and then hired a car to visit some Pparks: Coney Island, SFGAdv, Dorney, Hershey, Darien Lake, SFOhio, Niagara Falls, and of course Cedar Point. By the way, My father, who was 60 at that time, rode ALL the coasters ith me. So nice souvenirs... -
I have to say I was surprised by the hang time I felt on Superman (Warner Bros Park, Madrid) . Surprised, because this coaster looks a bit like Dragon Khan, so I expected the same kind of forceful loops, but Superman's Immelmann was kind of a nice surprise to me. Reall, you wonder if all this is normal on your first ride of the day
-
All thumbs up for Robb ! Day 22 for you, is incidentally day 22 for me too. Not for my weight but I'm trying to stop smoking erm... funny cigarettes (not the "normal" cigarettes, which I stopped more than 2 years ago). Maybe this is not forever, but just like you, I'm trying to have a break with what I consider to be a problem for me. I promise not to smoke on East Coast 2008, except if you all force me to !

Most rides in a day?
Dragon Khan replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was younger, I used to spend all afternoons in Sirocco (Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop in Walibi Belgium, my home park, now, it's called Turbine as the enclosed version) I believe I also had something like 40 rides on Tornado (Vekoma Corkscrew, which was still smooth at that time) but the one I'm the most proud of, is probably Dragon Khan, which I rode 22 times on a single day. I could have managed more, but I "only" did it 22 times because this would bring me to 100 rides on this specific coaster, which is still my all time favourite. On the same day, I probably broke my back with 7 rides on Furious Baco and 2 rides on Stampida. I still feel pain today, and probably will have to see a chiropractor before East Coast 2008, if I want to enjoy it to the max. I alos remember riding Raptor 15 times in 98, on a quiet day -
Hello... My name's Olivier, I live in Belgium. I've been reading those forums for YEARS, even if I don't take part to many debates. But I thought, as I might be meeting some of you next summer, I will introduce myself in a few lines. I'm 33 (will be 34 for East Coast 2008) and have been a coaster fanatic for 25 years now. My favourite ride is Dragon Khan, as you may guess, even after riding bigger coasters like Millennium Force, Riddler's Revenge, or Nitro among others. My coaster coun t is currently set at 162, the latest I rode being Black Mamba, Typhoon and Furious Baco. (I LOVE Port Aventura) I'm a foreign language teacher for pupils aged 16/19 but also teach adults in evening classes. My passions are coasters (of course... riding, creating on no limits and Coasterdynamix, which I adore) I also love video games and my biggest passion aside coasters is music. I've been playing the saxophone since the age of 8, play it in a funky/jazz-style group, as well as the guitar and keyboard in a rock cover band. I also compose rock songs and ballads. It's high time I opened a myspace page... It will be my first trip with TPR although I have already attended some ECC events. I'm really excited to meet you all and have a good time next summer ! Here is a pick of one of our gigs. See you soon !

Hello elissa ! I'm interested in the bank data for an international bank transfer too, since I paid the initial deposit through paypal (without E-check option, not available here) You told me my deposit was taken into account so it's ok right now, but if more convenient for you and me, I'll pay through the bank next time. If it's not that easy to proceed, I'll go on with paypal, paying the extra fees to cover the no pay check possibility. (that's what you kindly proposed). Keeping my fingers crossed to fill a spot, hopefully... May be a dream come true... By the way, any news on the number of potential trip-members for East coast ? Greetings from Walibi's homeland

Well, thought I would send this picture of me with my 5 year old son, Aloïs, riding his first woodie (Tomahawk) at Port Aventura this summer. I'll send other pics if I find correct ones. My son and I, in Tomahawk (his first woodie ever !)

Hi ! This is just my second post, but it's an important one, at least for me ! I have just sent my deposit through paypal ! YEAH ! Now, I'll keep my fingers crossed to be in if a lottery is organized. Anyway, I have a question. I tried to find "echeck" on paypal, but the only thing I found under the "more funding options" was a spot to enter a four digit code, which I did. As English is not my mother tongue, could someone tell me if what I did on Paypal is alright or not ? I'd hate being refused on this trip because of a misunderstanding. any help would be appreciated. I could ask Robb or Elissa but want to leave them alone, knowing they're very busy in Asia right now. Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone ! I have been reading TPR's forum for years now, and have enjoyed every minute of it. Now's high time I registered, because I'd like to join in the fun, and I'm really interested for the East coast Trip 2008. Will probably send my deposit for it before Friday. Robb and Elissa, if you're reading this, I'm the guy who spoke to you while Queueing for Tonnerre de Zeus in 1997. At that time, I tried to convince you to have a go on Dragon Khan (you still hadn't ridden it at that time... hope you enjoyed it during your Spanish trip) Well, enough... I'll introduce myself to you all, members in another thread. This is the 1st time I'm using a forum, so I hope my message will get across. Very happy to be able to correspond with coaster-nuts like me ! Hope to see you soon.
