  1. I wake up this morning at about 6, and learn that I don't have to go to work because there was a blizzard moving into denver. At about 9:00 A.M. there was 8 inches on the ground. By lunchtime there was a foot and a half of snow on the street. 2 feet of snow at 3:00 p.m (this photo doesn't do the amount of snow justice) By 7:00 p.m, the snow was up to my knees. After dinner I come back out and find another 2 inches where I had just shovelled. When I get inside, I get an early christmas present. A 2003 Silver Oak. I warm up by the fire after shovelling. Anyhow, it looks like it will continue to snow for a day or two - we are expecting 34 inches by the end of the storm.
  2. I have a saturn vue and an infinitie G35 - I try not to drive whenever possible - and just ride the trains instead. To get to work I usually take a Bus to the RTD metro train. From there I transfer onto a commuter rail and get off near my office. It is always crowded, and either way to hot or freezing cold. Sorry about the bad quality- this was taken with my phone.
  3. Starbucks is for fruitcakes. I just want a plain small cup of coffee. I don't know what the hell an iced mocha venti frappachino is, and I really don't want to know either. I'd rather go to the cheaper, and better coffee shop down the road which makes it's own coffee daily. The best coffee you can get is in europe. They don't even ask if you want the coffee to go. You are expected to sit down and relax. What a concept America!!
  4. Wal mart attempted to open a supercenter in our town, next to a NATURE PRESERVE. Our town fought back, and more than 600 people wrote letters to our mayor in protest of wal mart. Wal mart never did open the store in our town. Instead it moved to an extremely republican county a few miles down the road.
  5. lol taco, our high temp was 28 in summit county. 40 is quite comfortable for me.
  6. Do you guys think that 3000 American lives, and countless Iraqi lives are worth the death of 1 man?? Exact quote from an Iraqi citizen "With Saddam in power, there was no light at the end of the tunnel. With the Americans in power there is no tunnel. I will never live a peaceful life."
  7. Obviously not many people were that amused with it, because no one else has even commented. Glad you know how to stereotype.
  8. "Anyone who has parked in one of Walt Disney World's expansive theme park parking lots has heard the tram attendant's spiel reminding riders that – if something should fall off the tram – they should not go after it, but wait until the next stop and inform the driver or the attendant. Every once in a while, there's somebody that disregards this, proving to the rest of us the importance of heeding those words. Last Monday morning at around 9:30 a.m., a 49-year-old man jumpted off of a moving tram at the Magic Kingdom parking lot in an attempt to retrieve a camera that had fallen from the tram. The tram, which was approaching the left turn under the roadway in its final approach to the Transportation & Ticket Center, was traveling at a good rate of speed. When Reedy Creek Emergency Services personnel arrived on the scene, the man was conscious and coherent, but bleeding from the head. He was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center by helicopter as a precautionary measure. The man had been visiting the resort with his wife, daughter and grandchildren."
  9. Give me a link. There is no way that LA has a better transit system than to New york.
  10. How can you not know how to drive in california??? I would understand if you lived in a city with decent public transit... but LA???
  11. 2 miles down an empty avenue to the train station. Train is generally timely. I am also the first stop, so I can almost always find a seat. From the train I walk 3 blocks.
  12. Hooray. Too bad I'll just stay up an extra hour longer.
  13. Where did you work at DLR? What did you do? Did you work with Kevin Yee? Did you have fun?
  14. Ignoring my point, and picking out a misspelling does nothing to support your case. Right, because it's easier to ignore statistics, and waste energy until something serious happens.
  15. Something breaking off under it's own weight? Bull, look at temperature averages in the last 100 years. It's more than something breaking off under it's own weight. Have you seen pictures of massive glaciers (chili etc) reduced to nothing? What I don't get, is I hear some people claim we are coming out of an ice age, and others claim we are cooling.
  16. ^ Although the U.S. is the main contributer, australia, canada, and mexico are all huge contributers. Don't forget about China and India, two sleeping giants. Yikes.
  17. Cat Skiing is alot of fun, but very exhausting. The snow was heavy and deep. After just a few runs I was ready to go home. A great expierence though.
  18. Eh- the claim that we will use up all our resources by 2050 is far out. This is from WWF, not exactly an unbiased source
  19. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061024/ts_nm/environment_wwf_planet_dc Interesting read... By 2050 we will run out of many natural resources, yet America uses gas like there's no tomorrow.
  20. DLR! DLR! Pirates kills WDW. Jungle Cruise, Space, Haunted Mansion, and Buzz are all way better at DLR. DLR has much nicer landscaping, more varied, gradient paths as well. To me, DLR has Walt's touch, wdw feels much more commercial, and is way to spread out. It kills your feet!! DLR just has so much more atmosphere.
  21. ^^ I don't even ski on snow that out of towners find absolutely delightful. I am spoiled. Anyhow, it looks like another 4 or 5 inches will hit us tomorrow.
  22. So, my buddies and I heard that there had been a 2 foot dump in the mountains. We decided to hike up to the top of an old ski area for a couple of runs. A nice shot of my friend Sean, and the Berthoud Pass sign. Note that we are at 11,000 feet! Almost 2 feet of snow. Very tough to walk through. I am in the blue... stuck on a tree. Still stuck... Lame We finally make it to the top, and fly down. Our tracks. We were some of the first to ski berthoud this year. Let's do another lap. Anyhow, we had alot of fun. Think Winter!!!
  23. LMAO. I just watched seinfeld. Awesome show.
  24. ^^ Let's not forget about the billion dollar deficit in Iraq! Tax dollars at work. Yet our president lowered them...
