  1. I can turn my eyelids inside out, bend my thumbs under so that they lie flat against my wrists, and get my left leg behind my head. Louise "Not all at the same time though..." R.
  2. For some reason the word "foetus" has always made me laugh... "Moist" grosses me out too, probably beccause I've heard it used in a certain context too many times! And the best word ever is definitely "besmirch". As in, you're besmirching my good name you moist foetuses! (Plural foetuses or foeti?!) Also, periwinkle is funny.
  3. Somebody should start a "Relationship Rant" thread, seems like it's a common theme at the moment... I'm confused about being single, I've forgotten what to do!! :? Another rant: started Spanish classes at uni today... And the teacher talks only in Spanish! Argh! In the long run I know this is good, immersion is the best way to learn, that's how kids with different nationality parents grow up bilingual with such ease, but... talk about throwing us in at the deep end!!
  4. Seeing as this seems to be the right thread to cry over relationships... My boyfriend and I split up two weeks ago after three and a half years together... It was a mutual decision, we were just stuck in a rut but it's still really tough to be without him after all this time. Sorry to hear other people are having similar problems. It sucks. Louise "thank god i have such amazing friends" R.
  5. What the hell did you do to the giant turtle things to get them to actually walk?! I've never been to San Diego but every time I've seen those things anywhere they're just kinda lying there... I've always wanted to poke them to see if they're dead.
  6. Futurama is SERIOUSLY underrated over here in the UK, IMO at least. I love the Simpsons too, but I think Futurama has more intelligent humour and really don't understand why it was cancelled after four seasons when I think they could easily have carried on for a good few years after that, they've managed to think of SIXTEEN YEARS worth of episodes for the Simpsons after all! Bring it back!!!
  7. Whoo, looks like I'm in! Only problem is I'm flat broke for a couple of days until my student loan arrives... Nobody else sign up, damn you all!! There has to be space for me! I should be able to pay my deposit via Paypal by weekend.
  8. Something about "evolves into the next age of technology" thing on the box amuses me...
  9. 1. The fact that my Internet commits suicide every half an hour, involving disconnecting the whole thing, phoning tech support, restarting my machine... They've fixed it THREE times already, WTF is wrong with it?!?! 2. People not making their minds up about things and causing me to postpone putting my deposit down to join the TPR UK trip. 3. Not being able to sleep. EVER. So far, I've had 13 hours in the last five days. How is this fair?! 4. Being offered a really well paid part time job, which I get really enthusiastic about until they tell me, "oh by the way, is the 10pm until 6am shift ok with you?"!!! Yeah, really, that's just fine, then I can do the journey home and get exactly one hour in bed before getting up to go to seven hours of classes, coming home and having four whole hours to myself before going to work... Grr.
  10. OK, I'll be finding out by the end of this week whether I'll be able to make this trip or not, trying to get the exam period dates from my uni and rearrange a trip with a friend... Anyway, assuming I can come along, is there a quicker way of paying the deposit than posting a cheque? If you only have a couple of places left I don't wanna lose out because England-USA mail takes longer than expected, which is quite possible.
  11. That baboon thing looks evil. I'm terrified of monkeys. Oof.
  12. It sucks that the guy sounds like he may be a bit of a scumbag, but hey, that doesn't necessarily mean he was guilty of this particular charge, and even if he was... You have to go off the evidence presented to you. It's tough though. I'm still waiting for jury duty, used to think it'd be fun, but a friend of mine got a REALLY nasty case and I hope I don't ever do it now!
  13. I was Shannon. But I didn't wanna be Shannon so I did it again and changed a couple of answers. And I still got Shannon. Louise "D'oh!" Hancock
  14. The British newspapers today said that the parents claimed they locked the kids up because they had had problems with them fighting each other during the night... Wow, yeah, that's normal, everyone who has kids who fight with each other lock them in cages. How on earth do they think that this defense justifies their actions? (Assuming that the parents have said this, of course the newspapers are often wrong.) Lou- "finds it worrying that these people were allowed by the authorities to foster eleven children" -ise
  15. ^ I'm sorry for your loss, my thoughts are with you and his other family and friends. x
  16. ^ Hmm, well you're around my age, at least live in the same country, and obviously a theme park fan, all positives. But on the other hand... Dare I ask why you've been single for six going on seven years?!
  17. ^ I remember being sad about his death at the time, but it didn't really bring me to tears in a big way until I heard the Ben Folds song 'Late' which he wrote for Elliott having known him from the music circuit. It's a beautiful tribute without being cheesy, if you haven't heard it then it's definitely worth a listen. Rest in peace Elliott.
  18. Go Gregg, Go Gregg!! Well done mate! Lou- "wants letters after her name!" -ise
  19. ^^ I've got a little great-niece (a great-aunt at the age of 20!!) on the way and somehow I've already been booked for about 100 nights of baby-sitting... I have DOORMAT stamped on my head, guess I shouold look forward to taking pics like that!! ^ Ok, I'm relieved, I thought you were gonna say you were stealing other people's lunch money or something!
  20. ^ "You're never fully dressed without a smile..." (Must go and add Annie to that fave movies thread...!) I myself am wearing a smile and a duvet! I love having a laptop, lying in bed and typing is a thousand times better than sitting at the world's most uncomfortable desk.
  21. ^That's kinda the face I was making after the fight tonight...!! Not as cute as he is though: awww!! (Though probably not as cute if you have the sound too...)
  22. Just rewatched Casablanca... I may have to replace my previous choice...
  23. ^ I spend $50 at lunch, you MAKE $50 at lunch?! WTF?! My day was weird. Spent the day at home number 3 with my friend's dog who i'm dogsitting for a fortnight (he's gorgeous but stupid), went for a walk in the sun, then went to the pub, argued with my boyfriend, poured my heart out to a friend, got a bit tipsy, came home, sobered up, and it's now 5.04am and I 've given up on sleep for the night. Overall... a mixed day.
  24. Thanks Elissa. For some reason when I read that in the flyer it just didn't make sense... It's 4.51am here, that's my excuse. :? Fourteen places left... jeez, better make my mind up. Oof. Lou- "can I really afford to take money out of my savings when I've just lost my job?!" -ise
  25. Ok, I am SOOOO desperate to join everyone for this but I was planning on spending most of June sat in the pub with large amounts of cigarettes and alcohol and watching the World Cup... Hmmm. Must have a think about this. Elissa, I'm a little confused about something that's on the flyer, or maybe I just read it wrong: We pay an initial $150 deposit, then a further $500, then how long do we have to pay the rest of the amount? Could I pay in installments? Also, if I were to come along would there be a problem with a few friends of mine tagging along with us at Alton Towers? I understand they wouldn't be eligible for park perks if any came up at that park but they'd love to meet everyone if I do end up coming along.
