  1. ^Well said, good advice. My high school was basically a nightmare for anyone who wasn't "normal", ie - straight, skinny, hung around in the right part of the grounds, and wandered around the streets drinking and smoking at night. College was a thousand times better, people were actually allowed to be individual once they reached 16 or 17.
  2. I'm happy that my redundancy finally arrived so I'm not so poor anymore! I'm also happy that there's only a couple of weeks left til classes start again at Uni. Whoo hoo!
  3. Barely anyone at my school ever came out as being gay while they were there... When we all got to sixth-form college (which most people do for two years if they wish to go to university), a number of people came out, and suddenly it was all the rage for women to be gay, or particularly bisexual, yes. Many of the prettier girls who claimed to be bisexual seemed to just do it to try and turn on guys, and I guess that worked! Most of them dropped it not long after leaving college, which I think basically proves that it was mainly attention seeking on their part.
  4. It's close between Life Of Brian and Holy Grail for me but I think the Life Of Brian JUST wins. But basically, sit me in front of a tv showing anything Python-related and I'm in hysterics. Fawlty Towers is awesome too, only twelve episodes but every one of them is solid comedy gold. I think my favourite is probably the one where the Germans come to stay... Classic.
  5. My computer is really annoying me... It's either double posting or not posting at all or freezing... I need a new drive. But I have no money!! Must find a new job... and a bigger start-up drive... and a pony...
  6. 1. I've finally found someone with handwriting as bad as mine! I start off so neat at the top, then by the time I'm four lines down the page it's illegible. 2. You say it's not porn... Are you sure?! Just askin cos it certainly appears to involve nudity...
  7. ^^ Well I've always wanted to visit Philadelphia ever since my dad was over there on business when I was a kid and said how much he loved it. Just hurry up and turn 18 already! Lou- "must find guys of an appropriate age... :? " -ise
  8. The tap water where I live is gorgeous, but if I drink bottled stuff from the fridge it has to be Volvic. It feels you with volcanicity don'tcha know. Lou- "Evian makes me gag" -ise
  9. Just noticed Allison asking in the Ask Alvey forum whether Dan was single or not, made me wonder if any love has begun on TPR yet? I know of a few couples where both parties post here but did anyone actually meet through the site? Just being nosy! There are some very attractive young men on here actually... I'd be interested to know if Mark (QuakerOaties) is coming over to England on the trip next year... I wish my boyfriend wasn't scared of coasters.
  10. Looks kinda like a bear of some description. Hey Robb, why don't you tell us if anyone's got it right or not yet? You don't have to say who, there's enough posts now for you to say whether anyone's been on the money or not without giving the game away. Lou- "more pictures now please!" -ise
  11. I used to visit another (shall remain nameless) park-related site, which I still do from time to time, but most of the guys over there have VERY little sense of humour. The guy who runs it is lovely, as are several others there, but the general feel of the place is pretty unfriendly, and you constantly get shot down with commentws such as: "what do you know, this is only your tenth post?". Not a good way of keeping new members. That's why I like this place, everyone gets the humour. Over there you were made to feel really small if you hadn't ridden every coaster in the US of A, and as I'm British, and not exactly well off, so far I've not managed to do that! Although I love to read the coaster boards, I don't post on them too much as unfortunately I have only had the opportunity to visit a few parks, although some of them repeatedly, so my span of knowledge is considerably less. But I can still talk to the same people via the random boards: nice to find a coaster site where the people who run it aren't coaster nazis who forbid you from discussing anything else! As an insomniac, I really appreciate TPR, always so much to read and say. You guys do a great job, keep it up!!
  12. Whoever thought up the idea of doing this game is a genius!! I couldn't even hazard a guess at where you guys are (I'm a Brit and therefore clueless, that's my excuse anyway) but I'm finding it incredibly entertaining reading everyone else's guesses, you guys should do this every time you go away. PS- Detective Wes, I salute you!
  13. Rant on. Ok, I split my time around 50/50 between my home with my parents and my boyfriend's house, which he inherited when his grandmother passed away almost a year ago. Over at his house, we get around 10-15 calls a day from people asking for his grandmother. EVERY SINGLE TIME we get one of these calls, we tell them that she passed away and ask them to stop calling. We used to refuse to give them our details, figuring that then they'd start calling asking for us instead. In the end, we starting giving my boyfriend's name, figuring we'd rather have them ask for him than for his nana. But still, AFTER A YEAR, every single day they ask for her. GET THE POINT IDIOTS!!!! Rant off.
  14. "Does my butt look gay in this?"
  15. No. 4'd be pretty hot if her head wasn't so damn shiny, what IS that?! Or maybe I don't want to know... Lou- "EWWW!!" -ise
  16. ^ Ooh, ok, fair enough. :? At least you didn't say the people who make the lists... Lou-"was just watching the show and thought it might be interesting"-ise
  17. I don't know whether there is a tv version of this anywhere other than Britain, but I'm sure most of you are familiar with the idea anyway... Room 101 is the place where things can be hidden away, things you do not wish to exist any longer. If you could remove five things from your life and send them into room 101, what would they be? Mine: 1) Clingfilm (believe it's called Seran-wrap (sp?) in the US. I just hate it. It does the same thing foil does except it gets itself all tangled up and stuck where you don't want it, plus I'm forever cutting myself on the little teeth you're suppose to use to sever it 2) People who walk at a snail's pace without leaving room for you to pass 3) Jammster adverts and similar 4) Interludes on CDs. Why do perfectly decent artists feel the need to do this? Newsflash: EVERYBODY SKIPS THEM!! 5) Tinned tuna: looks foul, smells foul (and the smell hangs around for ages)... and just generally looks like something I would feed to my dog. What about you guys? Don't say racism/homophobia/terrorists, I'm gonna assume that nobody here wants that so there's no need to add it.
  18. Oh dear, think I can see a Liverpool/Everton argument starting here... Seeing as my beloved Stockport County aren't part of this, I'm just hoping one of the Brit teams will do well, preferably Liverpool. And then if we could win the World Cup next year and if County could actually start winning... My life would be complete!
  19. When I was ten I had huge crushes on Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg in the Three Men And A... films. Never realised at the time how odd that was. I also had a big crush on Chris Barrie, which to be honest has never left me. As far as women go, Alicia Silverstone in Clueless can't be beaten. I was nine or so when I saw that and even then I realised she was beautiful. Plus I always wished I had that many clothes.
  20. Every time you lick a stamp you consume one tenth of a calorie. And also, in Guam, there are men whose full time job is to travel the country deflowering young virgins as it is forbidden there for a virgin woman to marry. Random.
  21. I bought a 30 Gig iPod in 2003, which they replaced with the 40G model for the same price a few months later, which annoyed me a little at the time but annoys me more now because I'VE FILLED THE DAMN THING!! If my birthday was just three or four months later I'd still have 10 whole gigabytes to fill. Grr. Lou- "loves all her music too much to delete things" -ise Oh, and also, not having ridden a coaster for over a year, planning a trip and having to cancel it because I double booked the date. GGRRRRRR.
  22. ^ Rush fecking rock!!
  23. Right now I'm really peeved at the lack of good part-time jobs. I realise most people my age who are still in education have generally quite crappy jobs, but up until two months ago I had a job that I absolutely adored, that I had looked forward to getting up for every single shift since I got the job when I turned sixteen. But of course, they had to close the store and make me redundant. What the hell is the point in that? Is Richard Branson short of money all of a sudden and needs to make a quick buck? I doubt it, having seen previews for his new tv show. So why do this to me? They offered me a job at a different branch, but it's just out of my transport range as I don't drive yet. So I'm stuck searching for another part-time job. Only I can't settle on anywhere to go because everything from here on will be compared to the perfect job I was forced to give up. Sigh. Lou- "would you like fries with that?" -ise[/i]
  24. "Young man... There's no need to feel down, I say..."
  25. ^^^ Ron Jeremy?! He's your hero for the facial hair right?!?! Ugh.
