  1. Cool TR! I am so gonna hit Knotts one of these upcoming weekend-- 2-train wait for Xcelerator?
  2. Sadly (or perhaps fortunately) the only TOGO I've ridden was Shockwave at PKD. I'm not a big stand-up girl anyhow, though I do have a soft spot for Riddler's Revenge.
  3. This stuff is truly amazing-- thank you so much! I got especially twitterpated over the Pipeline stuff. Could Moonsault Scramble look any cooler? It could not.
  4. I love the Orbit at SFGaM. I'm sure there's a name for those that I could easily access by going through the thread, but whatever. They're a great way to get all nestled up with a person you like.
  5. Man, those demo picks are a bummer. I always thought Flashback was awesome, even though I never got to ride it. I've said it again, but I'll reiterate: ONE-OF-A-KIND COASTERS SHOULD NOT BE DISMANTLED, even if they suck! I know there are a lot of giant boomerangs out there, but I kind of feel the same way about Vu.
  6. Thank you! Juno was written by a theme park enthusiast...me. I'm bummed I didn't get any Schwarzkopf mentions in there. Maybe the next movie...
  7. "Furius Baco" always makes me snicker. "Willard's Whizzer" (now just "Whizzer") sounds dirty.
  8. I have winners in different categories here: Favorite nostalgic Arrow coaster: Demon at SFGAm Favorite actual ride experience: Viper Prettiest: Python (defunct) at BGA Edited to add: OOH! How could I forget about Matterhorn Bobsleds and of course, the ever-fascinating Pipeline Prototype!
  9. Sweet! Too bad it didn't work out in there. I think all rides seem scarier indoors. Even the lame Pepsi Ripsaw at MOA is kind of fun because you're in a claustrophobia-inducing environment.
  10. While I have a decent amount of credits myself, I agree that one doesn't need a ton of credits to be considered an enthusiast. I think I became an enthusiast the day I rode my first coaster! It was all I could talk about and all I could think about for days. Still, it was hard for me when I went to SFMM and my friends wanted to skip Ninja and a few others for time. The credit whore in me was defnitely grinding her teeth!
  11. ToT, due to the "cyclic" nature of the drops. Up, down, up, down, my stomach's in my damn throat! To me, for the pure gut-wrenching feeling, drop towers can't be beat. ETA that if I have to choose a coaster, Goliath's first drop is a tummy-punisher.
  12. Blue Flash and Blue Too are the coolest credits EVER! That's awesome that you got to ride them!
  13. That really bums me out. I especially wanted to ride Robin. I guess The Chiller had too many unreliable elements and was a "perfect storm" as far as breakdowns are concerned.
  14. Sigh. Now you guys have me sucked in. I've resisted entering the fray until now, but I can't resist a good mystery. Hm. The fact that the word "Nantimi" is like a scrambled version of Intamin and the image is also mirrored makes me wonder if there really is some kind of "mirroring" aspect to the ride. (I know this has been discussed, but it's sticking with me for some reason.) Perfect 10. Mirror. Makes me think of vanity or a hot chick or something. My brain is officially fried.
  15. SFMM may not have a giant drop tower, but they DO have a first-gen Intamin freefall, which is awesome! Okay, maybe not an awesome ride, but awesome that it's still there. Totally '80s!
  16. Those pictures of Maverick are nothing short of mouth-watering. Great TR!
  17. I adore Knoebels. Thank you for the TR! And you're right, all is right with the world when a kid can leap into the pool with a roller coaster on the horizon.
  18. That Scooby Doo "violation" is possibly the best thing I've ever seen on this site.
  19. I like that signature pre-drop. It's almost like tantric you-know-what...one shallow, one deep. Am I allowed to talk like that on here? I think I love B&M a little too much!
  20. I think Phoenix is the best woodie period, so that's a gimme. An absolutely euphoric experience every time!
  21. I never got to ride Flashback, even when it was at my home park as Z-Force when I was growing up near Chicago. Really bums me out, because I'm in favor of any one-of-a-kind coaster staying operational. I know it's totally illogical because the GP could care less about a crappy, rough old coaster being the world's only Intamin Space Diver, but if it were up to me, I'd reassemble it elsewhere in the park.
  22. Deja Vu. Guess why. Oh, and I didn't get on Ninja when I was at SFMM because we ran out of time and no one in my group seemed excited about it. I'm hoping to ride it some time this year. I'm still pissed that I missed out on Tidal Wave and Z-Force at SFGAm because I was a little chicken in the '80s!
  23. Notice that one of the waterslide guys had his arm in a cast? They remind me of the Jackass crew. I kind of want to build one of those!
