  1. West Coast Trippers, be glad you're not down south. High today was slated at 102 with heat index from 105-110 with heat advisories abounding. Love that humidity! Arizona, Middle East etc... not withstanding, that's just rough. Keeping good thoughts for better weather. Looking forward to "Statue Credit" tpr too.
  2. Anybody else get the feeling of "Out with the old and in with the soon to be old and under appreciated?" Name change aside, the show line-ups seemed to be the only other changes. Wonder if they'll put in a new thrill ride or two. If not, all this newness isn't really much of an announcement.
  3. (Pointing at screen and laughing like loon) Oooh! My sides! Well, as a crackhead, I find that offensive...the park list that is. What? No Alabama Adventure? I'm crushed...
  4. ^^Yep, you did. Must check messages better....must not look like tool......
  5. Hey DCody, Bummer about you're camera finking out, but still a great TR. Good drawings too. If you watch a certain Adult Swim show, you'll get this... "Did you get that Thing I sencha?" Looking forward to the next TR.
  6. Good construction pics! Looking forward to the ride and PoV footage next year. Built an early RCT3 model of it, but it'll need updating here soon. Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8R1EOSXUmw
  7. So this was a Fair-ly good trip? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  8. ^^Those look like modified Bo Shuriken, perhaps a bit thicker. Very tricky. If it's any consolation, one word could some up my first experience with those....DOINK! Well, I HIT the target anyway... While I believe the focus is on redirecting the opponant's energy against him or her using unarmed techniques, there are tool techniques using tanto, kuboton, escrima, etc. Sadly my only Aikido reference for this is the Steven Segal movies. As for the food, did you have any sushi? I'm a sucker for bit of octopus now and then.
  9. And you were worried people wouldn't like the TR? Well done! Shuriken can be VERY difficult, particularly Bo Shuriken. The Hira(?) or Happo(?) are a little easier if they are 8 pointed. 4 point, a bit tougher. Didn't realize this was a part of Aikido training too. You've taught me something new today. Oh, how fortunate you are to train in Japan with the ancestor's and their descendents. Very much an honor. Thank you for sharing this perspective.
  10. LOL! You're a man after my own heart! Most humerous TR!
  11. Glad to see everyone had a blast at Beach Bend. Yay! Pound it! What can I say? I get a charge out of "Pound it!"
  12. Skramp, DCody out in LA would be interested in this topic since she is into abandoned amusement parks, etc... You might PM her about this and make her day. The place was pretty cool looking and it'd be interesting to see it restored/cleaned up. Cool topic and pics!
  13. This Single Riders Team charity thing is a terrific idea! Glad to see a unique way to benefit our fellow earthlings. Bravo!
  14. LOL! Thanks, needed that laugh. Pretty close. Georgia Cyclone is the sit-down woodie. Georgia Scorcher is the steel stand-up B&M. Man! I'm still chuckling over that drink choice joke! Damn that was funny!
  15. Liked the way it looked before. Seems strange at an angle. Not bad, just strange. Curious.
  16. Crap! Sorry dandaman, not meant toward you. Different person.
  17. ^ Come on man, let's not continue the same (and settled) simple dissagreement here. This guy has a great TR. Let's not ruin it. We're cool and we agree to disagree. If this keeps up, Robb will jump in and it's not worth upsetting him or anybody else. Frankly, I don't want to get banned or start a bad rep. jedimaster1227 - Sorry for the disruption friend.
  18. ^Camera is 3.5x3x1.5. Your hearts in the right place, and I do use a hiking pack (black diamond prowler) for just that reason. Camera and all fits inside well. That hang-up solved. Portable just fans wouldn't work in the monster heat. Humerously, they weren't kidding when they named "The Georgia Scorcher". I dunno. Just iffy on the whole thing. Unfortunately, I've careened the topic away from helping a fellow TPR member sort out travel plans. That's really what should be focused on here. Everyone's insight is definately appreciated, though. Adrenaline_Rush, hope you got some better answers out of this thread and my apologies for the detour. coaster05, Thank you for the enlightenment and we're cool in my book. No ill will.
  19. Dude! There's no "Pound It" so far! Has it been retired? Hopefully not!
  20. Good idea. I will do just that. Also, my opinion was based on coworkers and friends here that have gone to the park as well. I wear jeans with 2 average sized pockets on the front and your standard thin back pockets on the back. Remember, I'm also carrying spare double A batts and a spare memory card, not just keys, wallet, cell phone, and camera. They'll fall out of the pockets, hence the small hiking pack. Cargo pants or heavy pockets just aren't comfortable. Ok, here you've taught me something new. Was not aware of this problem and it clarifies your position. Thank you for this insight. Georgia and Alabama can get very very hot during July and August. Atlanta was nicknamed "Hotlanta" due to the opressive heat in the last few years. Austell is nearby and suffers the same weather. It's also very humid, which makes outdoor activities most uncomfortable. You step outside and you're pouring sweat and you're energy is sapped in a very few minutes. At times, there are even heat advisories. Hadn't even heard of those. To make you feel better, I'm not one of the SF Bashers. It's understandable how they could irritate you, especially after you've had good experiences and are passionate about the park. Sincerely, I thank you for helping me better understand where you're coming from on this subject as well as your insight. Hopfully, my responses have done the same. Regardless, we're both devoted coaster fans and we love a good park.
  21. Ok, you get funny sarcasm points, but dude, all that stuff won't fit in my pockets. Yes, I carry a small hiking pack that solves the problem. Obviously, what you seemed to have missed here is why I had my doubts about spending cash at Six Flag Georgia. Glad you had a wonderful time. Really. Glad you love the parks. Believe it or not, I do too. However, based on what I've read here on the boards, what I've been told by others who've gone to the park, and the weather climate for this time of year, I'm not sure I'm ready to spend a bunch of cash at a park with questionable press and policies that people are unhappy about. For the record, I don't hate them and I'm not on the "bash Six Flags" band wagon. I am, however, an adult like you, and ask respect from you when holding an opposite opinion. It would seem that if someone doesn't agree with your thinking, it's open season. Repectfully, after you've responded to this post, let's agree to disagree on this subject, yet agree we both like parks and roller coasters a lot. No worries, eh?
  22. Wow! Lightning in 3.....2......1...... Hilarious! Just hilarious!
  23. ^While true, car keys, cell phone, camera for TPR updates, batteries, and memory cards aren't what I'd consider crap. Glad others have had good experiences, but I'm still dubious.
  24. Cool TR! Had never seen CWL except on Google Earth. Yay! Skyrider! (I like the stand ups).
  25. Great TR Man! Had wondered how SFoG was especially after all the negative stuff I'd heard of late. (Still leary about going). Thanks for doing Coca Cola World. The architecture and mod building design look great!
