What is your next park?
AmyUD06 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
King's Dominion says hi, opening a week before SFA. Unless I'm mistaken, they both open March 28th. I stand corrected....for some reason I thought it was the weekend before. My apologies -

Flight of Fear's queue outside of the building is the same as it was the day it opened. The additional switchbacks that it once needed that have since been removed were inside the building, in the UFO room. -

Meh...I never rode the Crypt and I won't ride a 4D, so net change of zero for me. -
I read that article too. The trick is what KBrylczyk said: those that are similarly priced have hotels, and are doing so to keep the amount of non-hotel guests to a minimum, since their bread and butter are the overnight stays. Those that do not have hotels are almost universally substantially cheaper that the one at the AD, which, also does not have a hotel.

Indiana Beach (IB) Discussion Thread

Technically, it was Premier Parks before they bought Six Flags, and they promptly spent as little as possible on the park and offloaded it a short 12 years later. -
Respectfully disagree. Dragon Coaster is quite good and a landmark, their Derby Racer is awesome and one of two left in the US, they've got a log flume and a whip, a bunch of other classic rides, not to mention the dark rides. Let's not forget that it's $30 for an unlimited-rides wristband. The only thing NU has on it is the Takashiba clone, and MAYBE their drop tower. Sorry, but in my book, two rides are not worth $60-70.

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
AmyUD06 replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kennywood does in fact offer a skip-the-line pass; it's called "VIP Tours." Despite the name, it's not a guided tour through the park, but instead a set of time-specifc exit passes for each coaster. It also used to be stupidly cheap (I think it was $20 back when I was there in 2017). I can't comment on crowds since my one time there was an overcast weekday in July and it was a ghost town. -

Or it's just one company trying to get out of the theme park business. Indiana Beach, Fantasy Island, and Clementon were/are all owned by the same company. -
Well, there is nothing to spend money on when you're there (unless you want a 7-11 grade sandwich from a push cart), so even if we wanted to, there's nothing to buy. And I'm sorry if expecting a reasonable return on investment is being a "cheap ass coaster enthusiast." The place has 3-5 solid adult rides and another few that might be enjoyable by some adults, no shows, no nothing else, not even proper food stands. Sorry if that's not worth $60 or $70 to us.
