  1. Not trying to be argumentative, but is there any practical difference between these virtual queue things and the existing Flash Pass? One you just reserve way in advance. You're still skipping the standby line.
  2. A $25 one time payment that give you two skip-the-lines per visit for the rest of the season? More Selim genius at work. Did SFFT not sell the single-use skip-the-lines that other SF (and now CF ugh) parks did? All-season Platinum FP at SSFT is $430, so this "introductory offer" has to be like 75% off the "normal" price at least.
  3. Not really sure how something that isn't even available to buy yet is causing confusion, but sure...okay.
  4. I'm fairly confident that they're not going to let the existence of another F1 themed coaster, on the other side of the ocean, that 90% of the CP-going populace hasn't heard of, that 99.9% of that same populace hasn't ridden, affect their theming decision in any way.
  5. $100 at KD and $95 at Dorney, too. Looks like if I buy a CF pass next year it'll be through Dorney; their Gold prices have always been lower than other parks too.
  6. @CaptainUnknown Even if you "like rerides," and rode every single adult-rideable flat ride, I do not realistically see any way you could spend open to close at this park. I highly recommend packing a swimsuit and towel and checking out the water park; it is pretty big and a bunch of their original attractions (build in the 80s) are a lot more intense than modern equivalents. Sadly they've taken out their "pool-to-pool" water slide, which IMHO was the best part of the park. Yes, Wild Mouse first. For hangtime on Hydra, you want the front row....the train will be traveling the slowest through it there. No coasters in this park really have enough natural darkness to provide a good night ride. Maybe Hydra? Some other recommendations: -Their Whip is over 100 years old, so you've got some historic value there. It doesn't run very fast, though. -Don't skip the Zephyr train ride, it's a classic. Other train, near the big slash-boat ride, can be easily ignored. -They do still have a functional Enterprise, but it's kinda hidden. -Do NOT skip the log flume; it is in my top 5 favorite rides at the park, and is uniquely cut into the side of the hill.
  7. I actually might consider this a win, since each parks Gold Passes were differently priced, and the add-on-price on top of the gold pass may end up cheaper than the old Platinum price. And the discounts and other benefits of Platinum had been severely reduced over the past few years anyway. But good for them (bad for consumer), since their Platinum pass was always a spectacular value IMHO.
  8. Why would you even e-mail that and ask? Just to annoy people? CF has a lease until 2028 and have stated that they intent to keep the park open through 2033. We are nowhere near that yet. You are why park employees loathe interacting with enthusiasts. EDIT: Looking back through your minimal post history, you did this last year too. Please stop. There will be seasons until they say there won't.
  9. There is no way in the world that you will ever need a day and a half at this park unless you want like 7 rides on Steel Curtain and don't have the skip-the-line-pass. No mandatory lockers that I can remember. And yeah, as Bert said, Thunderbolt is the "no single riders" allowed ride, but you shouldn't have issues finding a riding partner. No food recs, but don't skip on some of the rides you think you might not like: -Auto Race is a classic, and supposedly the last of its kind -Old Mill is a decent dark ride that lots of people seem to love -Ghostwood Estate is a decent trackless shooting dark ride -Noah's Ark gets tons of praise but personally I wasn't a huge fan
  10. Though I know there's no way on earth that the Blast Coaster would be anywhere near as intense as Volcano was, anything to recapture that essence would be awesome in my book. The last one made me laugh..."multiple classic audio tracks played by some of Canada's greatest bands!" How do I just know it's going to include Nickleback hahahaha.
  11. Might have something to do with the fact that Cedar Fair has built every existing giga in North America, so them adding another one is quite believable. Also, Six Flags likes to drop teasers about things that never happen. Like, a lot.
  12. The multiple tournaments going on at the sports park probably drew crowds away from the park.
  13. The only way you're getting walk-ons all day at Cedar Point are if the forecast calls for severe thunderstorms all day, but they never materialize but it stays overcast like they just might. And that's a maybe, since CP is a tourist park, most of the people are attending are in the area for the purposes of attending the park, regardless of the weather. Just pony up the money for FL+ and be done with it.
  14. I guess I'll have to eat my hat on this one. Was not expecting that.
  15. Which is a damned shame, because the real-time chat format of Discord does not lend itself to cataloging trip reports, and Facebook is just about the 2nd most wretched hive of scum and villainy on the internet right now. The bulk of the commenters on even TPR's posts are complete morons and people just tagging their friends because they're too dense to realize that there is a "share" button.
  16. I'd be mad if I entered a raffle for first public train. What could possibly matter less in the world? Unless you're part of the construction crew or park executive management who typically take the first ever train with people, you're not in the first group of people to ride a ride.
  17. The vests acted like every other B&M vest restraint I've been on did....so that's Valravn, Gatekeeper, and Banshee. I'm not sure what you mean by "lock;" Do you mean "impossible to tighten during the ride?" I didn't notice mine tighten at all, but I usually don't. Mystery Mine was a fun ride but the nature of the layout is going to produce some headbanging no matter how well its running. I had 2-4 times of distinct head-to-restraint impact, and I am 5'6". Go to Big Bear Mountain early. This ride will get substantial lines and Timesaver does not work on it as of yet (unless this changed in the past week). I'd also hit Dragonflier early while you're over there too. Thunderhead is easily the star of this park, but if you've been there before, you know that.
  18. I can pretty much guarantee that SFGAdv doesn't keep a spare one sitting around, so you're looking at shipping one from Intamin. Maybe them having to manufacture it too. I'd count it out for the year and be pleasantly surprised if it opens before the end of the normal operating season for it.
  19. Number of rides that are open on any given day.
  20. Hey now, at least Houdini is still on the website (as "temporarily closed"), unlike the Sky Ride which is gone. What's the over/under on how many of the support poles they leave up even after decommissioning the ride?
  21. With FL you won't have any issues. The whole park is basically a circle, so when you get in, pick a direction and work your way around. I prefer going left initially, saving Fury for last, since it's easily the best ride there and others might seem disappointing after it. Edit: Forgot to say to do Ricochet first if you need/want the credit. Not on FL, and due to being a mouse at a CF park, runs with abysmal capacity. Kiddy Hawk and Woodstock Express are also not on FL, and I've always found standing in long lines with a bunch of kids as a lone adult to be weird, so you might want to hit these early as well. Also, don't skip on Scream Weaver. When I was last at the park they ran a pretty decent cycle, and the Schwarzkopf Enterprises are a lot more rate than the Huss models.
  22. As someone who just got home from a similar trip, I have a few tips: Stay at the DreamMore Resort. It's awesome, and includes basic Timesaver for each day you're going to the park. You can call them up and get a package rate as well that includes admission. You also won't need to worry about paying for Preferred Parking, since you can either ride the shuttle to the park or I believe staying on property gives you preferred parking anyway. Note that basic Timesaver does have restrictions on it - total of 5 uses, including shows, and only one use on Dragonflier and Lightning Rod (that come out of your 5 total). It is not valid at all on Big Bear "Mountain." I just spent a Friday and Saturday with beautiful weather at the park, and didn't encounter any sort of crazy waits (over an hour) except for Big Bear Mountain, which I saw peak at 90 minutes reported. Definitely try to get on LR early, but if it's down, I don't suggest sitting around waiting for it.... That said, you'll have two days. Most people will say this is more than enough time, especially with Timesaver, but LR throws a wrench into this if you're determined to get the credit. Having a second day gives you a whole second set of 10 hours to try to get on it. I basically just kept an eye on the app to see if it was open and went over there when it was. If you don't get on it, you're not missing much, IMHO. At best it's the 2nd best ride in the park, and depending on where you're seated it could be a lot further down this list. If you don't like country/religious music, you're probably not going to like any of the shows except for the bird one, which was kinda awesome. The tourist trap stuff seems exactly that...I didn't spend any time or money there. Note that there are a few credits tucked away in the small parks there (plus a bunch of mountain coasters), and a ton of cool-looking go-kart tracks, if you're into those. Don't get too excited about the Action-Park-style bungie jump towers you'll see though; they appear long decommissioned. You can DM me if you have any specific questions I didn't address.
  23. To add even more confusion to this, here is what I observed for people using Timesaver over the past two days (June 2nd and 3rd, 2023): -Resort guests got wristbands. -Some people had Cards contained in a clear pouch at the end of a Dollywood-branded orange lanyard. -Some people just had Cards, which the scanning grouper let the person keep. -Some people just had Cards, which the scanning grouper collected. -Some people were presenting their phone to be scanned. Clearly, the Timesaver situation is in flux LOL.
  24. Well, it did appear to run pretty consistently for at least the first two or three hours today. They were even running two trains, too! But again, its been closed since around 1 today. Maybe the closures are temperature-related? It did get into the mid 80s yesterday and today and that little set of LIMs at the base of the lift is always steaming something fierce. I was very happy to get my two laps on it when I first arrived to the park in the morning today. I'll save my full review for my TR, but in short: This is not the best ride in this park, in my opinion, and where it falls in the ranking will depend entirely on where you're seated. If you're in/towards the front, it'll be #2. If in the back, it's closer to #4. Not even the best RMC that I rode this week. If you don't get on it, you're not missing anything special aside from the credit. Temper your expectations.
