Overrated coasters in your opinion
redunzelizer replied to Deadromanticx's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd say FX at Moviepark Germany (currently called: "MP-Xpress" http://rcdb.com/id969.htm ) is vastly overrated! If not even over-overrated? It has been for years... I've more than once seen kiddies and other mindless brats unboarding it with exclamations of utter excitation. Then telling everyone in the line how awsome bad a** the ride had been. Waiting there, just to hear *that*! You might do a ride or two on it, for fun, but otherwise: overated I say! But no one listening... Yes FX, the most overrated coaster within miles! "Lieutenant General OMFG Public" has spoken rule and spell... ...and no way to ever beat or cure *this* kind of overratinizing! greetings from the drylands of true enthusia$$m -

No Limits 2
redunzelizer replied to Dailey Enterprizes's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Yes Ed, just what I'm prayin, praising and repeating all the times! Thinking up values for input is nothing but intellectual arrogance! Designing by predefined dynamics is pure pickyness! Modelling most exact after real life coaster behaviour is simply narrowmindedness! After all, these whimpy tool-guys only claim that they are doing "something", in fact they don't do anything at all. I haven't seen any automatically coaster yet using other than tool-builtin default values! And all the questions on the net asking about tools are fake, tool users post these to simulate complications and effort, in fact these tools will work all by themselves. Damn liars! So please, please, do stop any approach and serious effort to simulate working on actual coasters! Stop it now! And kill them tool programmers too... A final word: using any software is severe fraud! And that's exactly the reason why I only hex-edit my trackfiles! (and therefor haven't released anything for years...) yours somewhat... redunzelizer P.S. Why do I have this strange feeling that no one will believe me? -
Don't mix gravity with speed. For a given Z-G (taken from an earth coaster) you'll have to go way slower to keep floating. For having a Moon-Z-G travelled at earthly speeds, you'll have to enlarge it a lot... (you should be able to get 20-30 seconds of floater then, probably with half a dozen of relaxed rotations!) In theory: Maybe. Escape velocity on the moon is ~2300m/s =~ 8300kmh =~ 5150mph. LIM lenght for an acceleration of 4G will be approx. 67km (~42miles) and acceleration will last about a whole minute (~59s). But you might not feel comfortable with that. IMO you are messing gravity with centripetal force. while the first is significantly lower on the moon, any centripetal acceleration will be the very same for a given speed & radius. Banking will even be a bit steeper than on earth. The "boredomness" of any helix one mile across would not change at all IMO. 8) Will strictly depend on the nationality of the astronauts/tourists! Enormous Efforts already have been undertaken to provide an according variety of fresh supplies cheesy regards...

Exactly! Doing any such comparisons without practical experience will not say anything about the coaster(s), but indeed a lot about the posters... Parts of the buildings have been finalized: http://www.onride.de/viewtopic.php?t=21366&start=448 -

Colorado Adventure
redunzelizer replied to CK Media's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Colorado Adventure *is* the "Michael Jackson Thrill ride". Not any phhttchpppng. Whoever came up with that sponsorship naming... Video? go to http://www.fly-one.org/ to section "PHL Videos" and get a look. There is a neat CA video there with approx. 5:20 runtime. Including *full* backseat onride POV. P.S. I loooooove this ride -
Not at all, not at all. Let me explain: For a given speed, high positive vertical Gs can be created by almost the same dip radii as on earth. (downward force mainly defined by speed and radius, gravity only adds up a few percent). Negative verticals (aka "ejector") would be available and last for much much longer duration on given hill height. Banking (in *any* spot) would even be steeper than on earth, since the downward force vector is way smaller in comparison to the centripetal force of a given turn. What is so boring about just these ride "enhancements"? redunzelizer

What type of turn on a wooden coaster
redunzelizer replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You may have either inward, none or outward lateral forces on any slightly or heavily banked turns (flat turns with outward lats only, of course...) . It will all depend on speed & radii. You also forgot to include attack & decay behaviour of these laterals which do contribute a lot on how these forces will be experienced. IMHO this is yet another one of these inaccurate, diffuse and ambivalent polls, like there have been (way too many) lately. Reminds me of that "Best/worst Schwarzkopf" poll in a way... Just my 2 lateral Gs per second, redunzelizer -
Zonga at SFMW
redunzelizer replied to Atarashiihito's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Your logic seems a bit twisted to me. Please tell me why did SF place Zonga in a state with just these strict regulations??? There are other SF parks in other states with different laws. I doubt very much SF managemenet is not well aware of these varying "settings". -

Hehe, nope, no wronk speeling with any favourites! http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=favourite It should be a well known fact that any language both evolves and degenerates (e.g. in terms of omitting redundant characters) over some time, simply for convenience. So both spellings should be co'ect. Greetings from the secret grammar police... -
