If you think that neighborhood was bad, wait til' you see the 9th Ward. There isn't one thing left. My cousin had 6 feet of water. She lived in Meterie and was able to move back in. I am so fortunate to live where I live in Louisiana. I did not get any damamage from Katrina/Rita. -astroworldfan1 "Im very thankful for what I have" -

DID YOU KNOW?
astroworldfan1 replied to coasterfreak81's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Rip Roarin Rapids was not the first River Rapids ride. The first River Rapids Ride was at Astroworld, Thunder River. Thunder River was built by Intamin. It was created and designed (and thought of) by General Manager of Astroworld, Bill Crandell. It was a prototype and it opened in 1980. Thunder River opened in 1980. Rip Roarin Rapids opened in 1983. This certainly makes Thunder River the first ever River Rapids Ride. -Tatum -

Did you know........ Walt Disney was looking at Property in New Orleans to build Walt Disney World. (I would have loved to see how that turned out). The HUSS Prototype of Rainbow is at Dixie Landin'. Before DL, it was at the New Orleans World's Fair, along with Tidal Wave (Astroworld). -Tatum -

It's run by the people who are making the decisions for the park. It is not a fansite. It's kinda funny how you think that Southern Star Amusements is run by young adults. Danny is in his 50s. Listen to the WWL interview, and tell me if he sounds young. Southern Star Amusements is a real company. It maybe hard to grasp the idea, but it's real. -Tatum -

I have to disagree with that. Astroworld had the first River Rapids ride. It was created and designed by the former GM Bill Crandell. TR was built by INTAMIN. TR was a prototype. Did you know........ The Texas Cyclone was the first Cyclone copy ever. During the consruction of the Texas Cyclone part of the ride's wooden sturcture collapsed. The Astrowheel was the first Double Ferris wheel ever. XLR8 was the first successful Arrow Suspened coaster in the world. Astroworld featured the only TOGO Pipline coaster in America, Ultratwister. -Tatum "That's enough for now" -

There won't be another "major" storm for a long time. The only "major" storm before Katrina, was Betsy. That was almost 40 years ago. It'll be a while until we get another "major" storm. -Tatum -

I met Tatum O'Neal in 2001. They were filming a movie near my hometown and I was in it. I even got to go into her trailer! I'd do it again! You may remember Tatum O'Neal as the original Amamanda on the Bad News Bears. Lacey Chabert, she played Grechen on Mean Girls, was also in the movie. Sadly I didn't get to meet her. I wish I would have meet her! -Tatum She wrote something in Sharpie, you may not be able to see it, but this is what she said: "Dear Tatum, I love your name" From Tatum O'Neal Tatum meet Tatum! Thanks for sharing your Jelly Bellys! I had so much fun! -

Dixie Landin' runs theirs like it's band new. It's one of the most intense Himalayas I've ever ridden. There are a lot of lights and music. It's really fun! Still one of my favorite rides there! -Tatum -
I have four dogs, but three were rescued. I always seem to find dogs that need a home. -Tatum The dog on the left is named Rosie. We got her out of a Drug house. The dog on the left is Percy. He has the longest ears ever! We found him while we were camping in Mississippi and named him after the campground!

Wow, soon you'll be arrested for breathing. My experience from newspapers (I've been in them quite a few times), if they're looking for something really good and your don't even say it, they'll add it anyway. Once they own the information, they can bend it all they want. EDIT: I wonder what's going through the PETA member's heads right now? -Tatum "So we keep waiting, waiting, waiting on the world to change" G.
