Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread
Jds03 replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought about PARC Management too, but what I mean is that Cedar Fair has the funds to build something huge that SFA could really badly use, like a B&M looper or something. While i do agree that PARC Management is capable of running the park well, even if they don't build multi-million dollar rides, i don't think we'll see them purchase another park for a while until they've gotten enough revenue from their other parks first. -

Wow, those are absolutely incredible. When I grow up, I want to be rich. Then I can buy an RV and a DeLorian. -

Or just pull a Geauga Lake by closing the park down and moving the rides around to other Cedar Fair parks. Superman could go to Kings Dominion as "Mediocre Generic Hypercoaster", Batwing to Dorney as "Nighthawk", Jokers Jinx to Cedar Point as "Possessed Backlot Twisted Coaster," and Penguins Blizzard River to Valleyfair as "Spinning Raft Water Ride." Hehehe. Making fun of Cedar Fair names never gets old does it? -

If the were to sell the park, I wouldn’t mind seeing it go to Cedar fair even if it means Batwing gets changed to Nighthawk, Mind Eraser becomes Flight Deck, and Joker's Jinx becomes Steel Venom, plus about 20 or so thousand trash cans come with it too. Their management is at least better than the way Six Flags is managing it now, and they’re really the only chain that would be interested in the park with enough funds to build major attractions and allow a solid future. SFA definitely has the potential to be really awesome, it just needs a little tightening up. Seeing that it's not too close to another park, I could see it becoming a healthy part of the Cedar Fair chain without them ripping it apart and letting other parks pick at the bones for new rides. Although I could imagine they would relocate Batwing just because it's placement in the park makes absolutely no sense and Dorney and Kings Dominion both could use a flyer. -

Cedar Point summer 2008

Yeah, there were tons of great angles and the trains were all caught completely. I can never get the timing right to get a close-up moving train shot. Good job. -
Haha, don't worry. I'm not gifted at spelling and grammar either.

Yes, i always have a great time on friday night. I work on comics or I get to go to Costco or blow things up and write trip reports about it!

So, I hadn’t intended to do a trip report tonight, but looking back on the past three hours, I’m still baffled by how stupid the events of tonight were, and I figured I had to write a trip report, just because if I didn’t all that stupidity would go to waste. So this is where I am at about 9:00 PM, I’m sitting in my room drawing a comic with the door closed and the humidifier on because I’m getting a cold, my dads at a restaurant or something, and my brother is downstairs with his friend. So while I’m about to take a shower and go to bed early so I don’t get sick, my brother comes running up to my room and starts freaking out and he tells me that our pet rabbit is bleeding. So I come downstairs to find that he and his friend were playing with the rabbit in the living room, and the rabbit had bent his toenail out because he was running and needed a nail trimming. So I go looking for the nail trimmers and a laundry mat while my brother and his friend catch the rabbit. We put him on the counter and I go looking for the first aid kit, my brother is still freaking out and doesn’t know what to do. So I trim the one nail off and then I went to wrap some gauze around it and my brother says “Your not going to use human gauze are you?”. Oh, no, this is special rabbit gauze we just happened to have in the first aid kit, I would never think of using human gauze on a rabbit because it would have hideous side effects!!!! Now the bleeding is over, I just figured I’d trim the rest of his nails while I’m at it, while my brother and his friend go down in the basement to do something. So after about fifteen minuets of squirming and running I finally trimmed all the nails and I realized he was biting at the bandage. So what we needed now was one of those funnel collar things for pets with stitches, but we don’t have one. So I got crafty and made one out of a microwavable red baron pizza box and some tape. So as soon as the rabbit crisis is over, my brother comes up with his friend with a little box and says “we made a bomb!”. So I ask, out of what!?! And he goes “we got the black powder out of Estees rocket engines by putting them in a wood clamp!” and now he wants me to film him blow it up. At first I wasn’t going to do it because I was sick and it was freezing out, but he starts whining and I give in and get my camera and a light coat because I figure I’m only going to be out for five minuets…right? So for your enjoyment I’ve included the video of the bomb going off at the bottom of my post, where you can hear dumb remarks from my brother and his friend and my sarcastic clapping after the explosion was about a tenth the size of what they were saying it was going to be. So while you were probably thinking the bomb was going to be epic disaster number two, it went perfectly fine and it was just a waste of time. It was when we got back and realized my brother had locked us out of the house that the real epic disaster took place. So we check all the doors and there all locked. We check all the windows and there locked. And the grade door wouldn’t budge. So I realized that somewhere on our property we have one of those plastic rocks with a key jawns somewhere around our house. So I ask my brother where he put it and he says he can’t remember exactly because it was 4 weeks ago. Whoa, that’s a long time!!! Eventually I realized that the only way we were going to get inside before my dad gets home and figure out we were lighting explosives is to crawl up on the roof and go through an upstairs window. We get this wooden ladder from our tree house and prop it against the chimney. My brother says he wants to do it, but the second step he takes up the ladder, one of the footrests just falls off. I realized if he tried this, he was going to kill himself, so I climbed up, and grabbed on the chimney and was very careful because there was ice and snow everywhere. So I check the one window near my dad’s bathroom, and it’s locked, but luckily there were three more windows around the roof…which were also locked. So at this point I pretty much realized we were screwed over, so I figured I’d just come back down and call my dad. However because of the ice around the chimney, I realized I couldn’t get down without a trip to the emergency room. Before I gave up, I yelled to my brother “If I break anything, I’m going to personally break that same bone on your body!” Now, I’m just sitting on the snow on my roof and I’m freezing cold because I only had a light jacket. Keep in mind that I had a cold coming on before this. So after about five minuets, my brother shouts out, “ I found the rock!” I asked where and he says “ where I left it!”. So I’m about ready to kill him since I crawled on the roof for absolutely no reason, he opens the window and I crawl back inside. So I have about 10 second of relief that it’s finally over, when I looked outside my dad’s window, and there are footprints all over the snow on the roof, and my dad would realize that we were on the roof while he was gone. So now I have to run back downstairs get a broom and go out and brush the snow around until it looks natural again. And finally while I’m on the roof sweeping, I just thought about what just happened and asked, “Are we really that stupid”. Then I thought, it was just my brother and his friend that were being stupid, and I didn’t deserve this. But then I thought since it still happened to me that meant I had to do something equally stupid, so I decided to write an unnecessarily long trip report about nothing on Theme Park Review, that nobody will read! Thank you and have a nice day. Untitled_1.wmv This is the video of the explosion. This is my rabbit with a funnel collar.

Yes, I’m still going to smoothen it, which is why I haven’t started to add the supports. And the yellow G's aren’t a problem, there all intentional verticals, meaning the one positive 4.5 is just a really strong turn, and the yellow negatives mean it's extremely strong ejector. El Toro hits 1.4 or 1.5 on most of its hills and even gets to 1.6 on the one before the twister section. This ride also hits 1.6 on its max. Just wondering…Where did you see the red G? -
Ever had a black out on a coaster?

I do something similar on the Phantom's Revenge's final turn. It's fun. OMG, I do that on El Toro. It is simply INCREDIBLE! -

I thought I would never come close to blacking out on a coaster, until this one time I was really tired and rode Laser at Dorney. My vision started turning orange on the second loop. -

It's under display, you just click Show Heatline and it should show up. The annoying thing though, is that you have to do that on each of the veiws. Thanks, but yeah, one of the things with the lift was that I changed it halfway through, because I had the impression that megalites had a really relaxed curve into and out of the lift, but after I looked at pictures of Kamikaze I realized it was just the exit and I changed it...maybe too much...
