  1. I like your review, but I can't see your pictures. Every one of them is saying "Bandwidth exceeded". Also, who have you been listening to that has been giving you negative reviews of Intimidator? Only things I've been hearing is positive. It's almost getting annoying hearing only the good things about the ride. I don't want this coaster to become over hyped, everyone needs to get surprised by it.
  2. The main reason I see for the assigning of rows is just the fact that if anymore than just a 2 train load is put into that station, it becomes utter chaos and the grouper can't see any of the rows and several of the rows would end up going empty. Rows 2, 3, and 4 would be the definite culprits because the lines for the first and second row have a turn in them which when filled ends up blocking rows 3 and 4. Just one last comment to make about the single riders thing and the empty seats. Riders seem to never stay where we ask them to. Like we will assign one group to rows 11 and 12, but they then decide, no I don't want to sit here and sneak past the groupers to a different row. Now say that group only had 3 people with them. We would assign 1 single rider to go with that group, but then the single rider actually stays where we assigned the group. At this point the gates are ready to be opened to let the next group of riders on the train. We now have 3 empty seats. Well, now that I got that out of the way, thank you for the coverage! It's a great TR and a lot of good pictures. It was great getting to meet you.
  3. Oh, I remember seeing you guys now. Sorry I didn't say hi, I thought you guys looked familiar though. I'm interested to hear what you thought of the park! ^^I seriously don't remember anyone yelling at us for not putting them on the last train. I do remember shouting that we had too many people in line and we had to run a second train through and told people to quickly get back in line for it.
  4. Wow, the recording shouting "Start your engine!" will get very annoying, really quickly. Thank GOD the recording at Carowinds doesn't have the announcer screaming it like a rock god...
  5. I use the 255W and my sister uses the 1250 both of them are really good. The 1250 has a few more special features such as radio traffic monitoring that makes it a better option, but the 255W is smaller and has a better receiver so it links up to satellites quicker. That's basically all I can really say on the subject. Personally, I say you can't go wrong with a Garmin.
  6. ^ Even if some of what is pictured there are real orbs, orbs are only collections of energy. Balls of energy or orbs can collect anywhere electricity or just a lot of activity is, there isn't anything paranormal about them themselves. The paranormal side of things comes in because it is believed that for ghosts to manifest, they absorb this energy. Anyways, who thinks we should start up a separate thread in the random forums dedicated just to the paranormal? We should also do meet ups for ghost tours and stuff.
  7. I'm putting my money down now that each of the coasters named "Ninja" are going to get the ad wraps. Anyways, neat idea, but Six Flags has really become a sell out now. The ads everywhere really aren't helping their image, at least IMO.
  8. Wow what a beast! This thing could eat the one at Magical Midway. I wonder, will the chains possibly be a bit bigger on this model?
  9. I have gone to parks alone a lot before, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing so. Especially if the park is prone to having long lines and they have single rider lines. On the longer trips, where you will be traveling like 4 hours to get to a park or multiple parks, it's really nice to have someone with you, especially for while you are driving. This is one thing I really like about this site. Become friends with one of your local members on here, and then you will always have someone willing to travel to a park with you.
  10. ^There is no barbed wire anywhere around our ride. The fencing around our ride near the queue line is designed to resemble the fences that separate the seating areas of NASCAR stadiums from the track. Also, the park was extremely dead on Sunday because just about 10 miles, or less, from the park the area was under a tornado watch/warning. Thankfully the storm completely missed the park so we were able to stay open all day with just a few rain showers.
  11. ^^ There's a very minute amount of shaking in the very back of the train, but you can only feel it when the train is actually going full speed, so just in the first couple of valleys.
  12. ^^ Hey don't say you wouldn't be just a bit obsessed if this was at your home park. I've been quietly twiddling my thumbs for this ride for 6 years, this is a dream come true for me.
  13. ^But that's still 10 seconds we can shave off! On another note, I got off work a little early tonight and was able to ride Intimidator 10 times in a row bringing my current total up to 36 times.
  14. ^ Yes Intimidator is my ride this year, so I probably ended up checking your restraint once along the line. Also there is a member here who works Nighthawk, in fact he's the supervisor at Night Hawk, Coasterlvr_nc.
  15. ^The park closed at 6:00 tonight and the tornado was no where near us, so no need to worry. Only weather we saw today was an annoying sporadic drizzle and constantly blowing winds peaking at 36mph! It was an interesting day, especially seeing that we were completely dead and Intimidator was a walk-on all day. I guess the weather was keeping people home today.
  16. ^^ Just to let you know, that was pollen you were sticking your finger in, not dust. Thanks for the positive reviews especially to our crew. We actually still aren't working the best we can yet. We are still finding a lot more ways to do things even quicker so to fully avoid ever stacking. Thanks for the great trip report! I'm glad you liked the park!
  17. That is NOT the official POV. This was shot by a newscaster early in the morning before the media event even started. At least this one was obviously done with permission unlike the last one.
  18. Well, I just got back from media day, pictures will come later, and I must now say, Intimidator is my new number 1 coaster. I was able to get 21 rides on it today in multiple rows, this brings my total ride count to 26. This ride is a testament to how B&M coasters SHOULD be. Anyone who dares say that B&M no longer makes intense coasters, need to come ride this thing. By the way, as I said before, there's no reason to fear the trims at all, you seriously can barely even feel them. If they didn't make the sound they make, you would probably even assume they were off. Now here's the rundown of my experiences in each part of the train. Front: The front of course gets amazing views and all the wind in their face, but it also tends to be pushed down the hills into the valleys, causing very high gforces between each hill. The front also, while not having the most intense airtime, it still has very strong air over every single hill. Thanks to the shaping of the hills, the airtime does an increase and decrease in the intensity of the airtime going up and then down each hill, spiking in the middle with good ejector. This is currently my favorite place to be on the ride. Middle: The middle of the train is loaded with seemingly non-stop floater air. The gs between hills isn't as powerful as the rest of the train, but it still feels like a good 3gs in a couple of the valleys. The middle on this ride slightly dissapoints me with hearing how Diamondback's best seats are near the center, but it really doesn't matter, I still loved this ride no matter where I was sitting. Back: The back of the train gets THE best treatment from the first drop. The whipping action thanks to the length of the trains throws you out of your seat even before you are truly going down the hill, and then your butt is in the air until the very bottom. The back gives the most intense ride out of the rest of the rows. The gs are extremely high in every single valley, and there's ejector air on almost all of the hills. While the back does give the most intense ride though, it kind of annoys me. The airtime on each hill doesn't start until you crest the hills, while everywhere else gets airtime the entire way over each hill. That little annoyance aside, if you enjoy a really intense ride, the back's where it's at. Well thank you for reading my review, I will try to post a couple pictures a bit later. Picture time! Edit* added more pictures! Park index love. Nice car. Even nicer cars! Thanks to this grassy area being clear, this is one of the only places you can get a good picture of this ride from inside the park. A nice photo of the entry plaza and gift shop/photo booth. There are more pictures from this event and they will all be up on Theme Park News Direct sometime later tonight. The peanuts gang is here now, and boy do their masks look creepy... I'm surprised, this is the only picture I got of the station. I think I was having too much fun riding. It sure is pretty. That train is currently at that "OH S@#&!" moment. To complete the theming of the area, your in line entertainment consists of watching clips of the famous race where Dale wrecked, over and over again, while listening to Country songs written about NASCAR. And no, I'm not kidding. One last picture of the train, just to remind you how pretty and cool the ride is.
  19. ^The only other ones I've been on are Goliath and Apollo's Chariot. I know, kinda sad, but that's what you get when your parents would only take you to one park every year. In my opinion this thing is way more intense than both of those, though Goliath's helix is still a better element than anything on Intimidator. This ride is just a whole lot of fun to me, and it does feel really intense. Note, as I said in my review, the middle rows of the train are pretty weak, so if the other people who have been commenting on the ride so far are saying it is weak, there's a high probability they were near the center. I seriously don't know who those people you have been hearing from are, but everyone I talked to today love the ride.
  20. ^^Good job doing something you weren't supposed to. The park does have an anti on-ride film policy, and that included today. That's why there was a camera bolted to the front of one of the trains, so that there will be a real professional pov instead of stolen ones like this taken against park regulations.

  22. ^That won't happen, we are running the single rider line like Diamondback's, you will have to get a pass to use it. This gives us the ability to tell people EXACTLY what the line is for.
  23. Media day is coming up in only a matter of hours. As soon as I get back expect a comprehensive review of the ride. I just hope it doesn't decide to rain during the event. I will have plenty of pictures, and I will post a couple of them here, but once I get them all uploaded, if you want to see them all they will be hosted at Theme Park News Direct. I'll inform you all when they are up. One final thing, for all of you coming on opening day, please be sure to say hi to me. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one named Andrew on the crew, so I shouldn't be too hard to find.
  24. Mac's BBQ is okay, I personally prefer Sticky Fingers (easy to stop at for those of you coming south bound), Maurice's, or Burk's(both of which are easy to get to for those of you traveling north bound). For those of you worried about the trims, don't be. This ride is going to be one of the best come time for the Mitch Hawker poll. I will be working opening day, so make sure those of you who are coming say hi to me. I'm ready for a great year, and I hope you all are too. See you on opening day!
  25. Oh grand and mystical Title Fairy, I approach you with great tidings in the hopes of having my title changed. I have evolved from the love of Eurofighters to the love of one, single hyper coaster named Intimidator. If you could find it in your heart or spare time, please grant me with a title fitting for my new love. Thank you you're highness. Puffer-"That was fun to type!"-fish
