On woodies, I look for high, constant speed and a lot of airtime. For an example my favorite wood is Thunderhead. Steel coasters are a little more complicated. For me it has to have constant fluctuations in g forces, fun elements, and smoothness. Also, there are more coasters out there that are very good that did not come from B&M and Intamin. The reason B&M and Intamin are so highly rated is because there is more of them. Those two companies almost dominate the market. More people have ridden coasters from them than any other company. I know some coasters that B&M have made that are complete flops when it comes to my expectations of a good steel. An example of what I'm saying, my number 2 coaster is Mystery Mine. A Gertslauer Eurofighter. I'm just saying, it doesn't have to be Intamin or B&M to be a good coaster. Your project is to build a "world class" coaster. World class means that it is something unique that someone can compare to another park and say I'd rather go ride that one than the other one. Like in my home park, we have 2 "world class" coasters. Nighthawk and Afterburn. Nighthawk sucks, but it still draws in a crowd. That's just to show a difference between "a good ride" and a "world class ride."

Eating and coasters
Pufferfish replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a very strong stomach. I've been able to drink spoiled milk and didn't even notice it was bad. I have never gotten sick on any ride before. even when I am sick to my stomach, I occasionally have acid reflux problems, I can still ride anything without any problems. In fact, a lot of times when I'm feeling sick, some strong gs help me feel better. -
^ Tenn Tornado is the hardest coaster ever to try to take pictures of. It's all sat down in a valley surrounded by trees. Also the first drop is buried in the hillside and the top of the lift is on top of a mountain. Those are the only pictures I took of it. There's only one place you can stand outside the ride to be able to even see it.

Here are the pictures. My favorite woodie! If you look close enough, I got the train on the lift. Pretty wood. Timber Tower with Thunderhead in the background. That is one big loop. I love Arrow. Arrow Awesomeness! Hi David. (He asked me to do this.) Blazing Fury. The wettest ride in the park. Yes I rode Daredevil Falls, Blazing Fury got me wetter than it did. The first outdoor section. Fun with just a little roughness. I believe the lighting was almost perfect for this picture. Makes it look spooky. Speaking of which... My only picture of Splash Battle, with Mystery Mine looming in the background. Excellent show. The star of Wings of America. It's so awesome to have this guy soar within a foot of your head. The stage for Wings of America, built by Bass Pro Shop. Just a random picture to show the overall look and feel of the park. This park has the worst parking lot ever. It's split into multiple segments and it takes forever to go through it to get to the park entrance. At least it looks pretty surrounded by trees. The view out of the hotel room. Just an example of how beautiful it is up here at this time of year,

This park quickly became one of my favorites. The park has a lot of very good theming, great staff, good shows, and excellent coasters. I was so busy having fun at the park I didn't take many photos, so I will first talk about everything and then show the pictures at the end. The Rides: Tennessee Tornado: (5/5) This is one beast of a coaster. Quite possibly my favorite arrow looper, second only to Loch Ness. It's very smooth and very forceful. It also has one of te most unique first drops I've ever seen. It's completely enclosed in a tunnel that slices through the mountain it's on. Thunderhead: (5/5) Now my number 1 wood. It doesn't slow down once the entire course. It's very forceful with constant pops of ejector air. Mystery Mine: (5/5) My first Eurofighter. 100% awesome. Amazing airtime and hang time. The theming is excellent including an awesome story and a catchy theme song. I still have that song on my head. This ride would have become my number 1, but the first outdoor section has a few rough spots. It definitely took number 2 though. Blazing Fury: (4/5) I thought it was a very neat ride, great way to cool down in the middle of the day. It never had too long of a line. It had one nice pop of airtime and the splash down at the end was pretty cool. The darkride section was nicely done, though it could use an update for those animatronics. A classic. Timber Tower: (2/5) Other than spinning and getting your feet wet, what is this ride supposed to do? It seriously felt slightly pointless. Unique? Yes. Worth riding? At least once. Dizzy Disk: (3/5) Had to ride it. My first Disko. It was a lot of fun, as long as you sat in one of the good seats that get some floater. The one thing I didn't like was the rule that you had to keep your hands on the handle bar at all times. The shows: Dreamland Drive In: The best show I've ever seen in a theme park that's not Disney. The stars were amazingly talented in dancing and singing. This is a must see for anyone who's a fan of oldies from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, or if you're a fan of Grease. Wings of America: Out of all the bird shows I've seen, this is the best. This is the only one I've seen where a Bald Eagle flies over your head. This is also the only one I've seen that brings a volunteer up to the stage to have a vulture land on his/her arm. Must see for any lover of birds. Other notes: This park is very beautiful, especially at this time of the year. All the trees are changing colors giving extra beauty to the park. The food here is excellent. Possibly the best park food after EPCOT. Also crowds are very minimal. When I was there the longest wait I had was for Mystery Mine at 30 minutes because there was this large flood of people who were to big to ride who neglected to use the test seat. Other than that, most of the rides were 15 minutes or walk ons. One final note, if you are thinking of doing two days at the park, I reccomend you do what I did. They are currently doing a deal where if you pay to enter the park after 3:00pm, the next day is free. Another good thing about this deal is, after 3:00, you don't have to pay for parking. Basically you will get 2 days for the price of one. Will post pictures later.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Pufferfish replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Recently I was sitting at lunch with a bunch of my co-workers while on break. In the employee cafeteria there are pictures of rides on the walls. One of them is a picture of Flight Deck at CGA. Everyone was completely convinced that it was Afterburn, even though the train in the picture has no decals on the wheel covers and the track is black. They wouldn't believe me even after explaining the difference in the track. They just passed it off saying, it used to be painted black, no, no it didn't... I work with the gp. -
Is it too late to finish? I just really wanted to get this TR up. I hate leaving things unfinished. So, my day at BGA was a very good one. There was never a wait longer than 15 minutes for the entirety of the day. Ended up being able to ride everything multiple times. The park over all was very clean, great staff, and great theming. Everything you'd expect from a Busch park. I still like BGE better though. Well, that's all I'm posting from BGA. It was a great day at a great park. My third favorite park right after EPCOT and BGE. Montu through the Ancient Egyptian doorway. Most beautiful Invert trains ever. Last ride of the night. Marathoned on Montu. It's a very nice coaster and has the best theming of all the coasters in the park. Very nice foot cutters, and good forces. Only complaint was that it went too fast to really take in all the forces. IMO, Afterburn is better. Montu is still in my top 10 though. It was dark in those stables, but i had to take his picture. The donkey who dreamed of becoming a Clydesdale. Also TPR's mascot. Represent! Last photo from the train. Scorpion through the tree-like foliage. Awesome mass of twisted steel. Did I ever say I love Shiekra? Wave to the people who don't think it's wet enough yet. Still down from the rain. Oh honey, you're just rusty. A fresh coat of paint will pick you right up! Kumba, through and over the trees. I think the animals were enjoying the cool down from the rain. I'm not your mother kid. Stop suckling me. Lounging Rhinos. "Dude, are you high?" "No, I'm just tired of posing for you kids taking my picture." OMG! That ostrich is eating Shiekra! Someone should appreciate this. Bad picture of wildlife. I think you get it now. Good picture of Montu. Bad picture of wildlife. The train gives good views of Montu. After waiting for close to an hour for the storm to pass over, the train was finally back up and running. Right before I took this picture, that tortise was charging at that duck. If you look closely, you can tell he looks poed that I took the picture. I caught him in the act. Let's all stand up for duck rights! Got bored waiting and took some animal pictures. Still waiting. It appears BGA has adopted CF's rain policy. Even the train won't run in rain. Nice ride. Kilamanjaro Safaris is better though, IMO. I guess I should mention there's a coaster in this area too. If you've ridden one mouse, you've ridden them all. Nothing special, moving on. I saw this exact same 4D pirates show last time I was up at BGE. Still an enjoyable show though. Good way to sit out rain or heat. One more picture of Scorpion. Hooray for Schwartzkopf loopers that still have lapbars! I really loved Scorpion. Kumba was a good, forceful ride. I just have one complaint, it had a very bad case of the shakes. In the interlocking corkscrews, I had the feeling I had suddenly been teleported onto a Vekoma. No ammount of leaning with the curves could have saved my head. Seriously an overrated coaster. Hello, what's this? Kumba is calling to me, reminding me it's next. ...I love these spring towers! Seriously, best ride in the park that's not a coaster. I like the new area for one reason... Dare I say it? Shiekra through the tree! So pretty, so awesome. Now it's your turn. Shiekra immediately became my number 1 after the first ride. It also firmly placed the Immelmann as my favorite inversion. Yup, it's Gwazi. GCI goodness. Rough, but still good. Hurler is worse. IMO, Lion is better than Tiger. It had slightly more airtime and ran a little smoother. The best part about it was, they were dueling them! I see you Shiekra, but you have to wait. I have something else to ride first. Finally in! Thankfully we were behind the opening rush. Are we there yet? Seriously this park has the longest walk to the front gate out of any other park I've been to. Let's get a ticket! This was about the longest wait of the day.

Hersheypark 2011 [RCT3]
Pufferfish replied to Ccron10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
From many pictures, even yours DBru, I can tell the coaster is a very dark brown. In certain light it looks black. If you look at the track in your picture where it is behind the Dippin' dots stand, you can see that it is a dark shade of brown in your picture. -

It looks really good so far. Nice use of foilage. Only real thing that bugs me is the thin paths. Widen them out a little and it will make your park look more spaced out and realistic. Other than that, nice work! I'm excited to see how this will turn out. -

^ what do you mean by pizazz? Like ultra bright colors or abstract walls? If that's what you're looking for, it's coming in the last two themed zones. If that's not what you mean, I'm open to any ideas. Don't forget, I'm still doing my competition where if I use your ideas on any of the rides, you get a prize. -
^ Works too much. < is now relieved. Ahhhhhhhh... V is wishing they don't have to comment about <.

^^&^^^ It's just a slow turning flat ride. You can find them at a lot of fairs in the US. It doesn't go fast enough to make that really cool. Good idea, but it doesn't really work for this ride. I'm actually going to change the challenge. Pick any ride in the park, other than a coaster, and give me an idea of how it would look better. If I use your idea, you will get a really nice prize. Prizes will be awarded on Halloween. UPDATE! This update is just further expansion of the new themed area named the woods. This is turning out to be my favorite section of the park. There is only 1 new ride this update and that is a new GCI woodie. Onto the pics! SCR31.BMP Overview, it's getting closer now. SCR30.BMP A better look at the layout. The park would also like to announce that as soon as the Amphitheater is built, ACDC will be the first to preform as part of their 2008 tour. SCR29.BMP The first half is very twisted. SCR28.BMP This is the sister coaster to Thunder Struck at Golden River. It's another GCI named after a song by ACDC. Back in Black! SCR27.BMP New restroom facility. SCR26.BMP The first arcade in the park. SCR25.BMP Best food in the park! Big Mack's BBQ. SCR32.BMP Welcome to The Woods! -

^Really, I have no idea who made them or where they came from. I just got them from downloading other people's parks. Once I finish this one and put it up for download, you will have all of these flat rides too. UPDATE Yes, I know it's been a little while. I've been getting side-tracked with school and work. New this update, I have changed the building of Falling Star, on request, and I have added a fully landscaped B&M Invert. Onto the pictures... SCR17.BMP Here's a challenge for you, come up with an idea for me to renovate Soar. If I use your idea, you might get a special prize. SCR24.BMP Current overview. Thanks for watching! SCR23.BMP It's a really photogenic coaster. SCR22.BMP ... SCR21.BMP It drops down the side of the mountain to do a high-speed pass over the first pond. SCR20.BMP I really like this area on the top of the hill, and I love the drop out of the zero g roll. SCR19.BMP The lift hill. SCR18.BMP Here's the star of this update, Hornet! Fly through 7 inversions and multiple low to the ground, foot chopping, moments. SCR16.BMP Here's the newly renovated Falling Star. -

Please never mind this post. I tried to help him, but apparently he has lied to me to get me to do this for him. Until I get a full, true explanation from him about the IP addresses, I will now consider him a certified jerk. I asked him in chat how he was posting in the hospital, and he said he used the hospital's internet. That just doesn't fit right unless Wes was lying, which I seriously doubt he did. I just can't believe he'd do this to us. -

There's quite a few around me as I am near the NC/SC state line, so I have two states worth of haunts. There are two other than Scarowinds that I personally like in my area. The Campground Massacre is a real biggy in the area. It was first done in 1994 and has been one of the most popular haunts in the Carolinas ever since. It is located in Fort Mill, SC. Just south of Carowinds. For more information, see their site: http://www.themassacre.com/index.html The Woods of Terror is the other big one. In fact, it is very big, 50 acres to be precise. It is made of 3 separate attractions and was voted one of America's best haunts last year. It is located in Greensboro, NC. For more information, see their site: http://www.woodsofterror.com/
