  1. Waiting in line has become a lost art. We're used to Fastpasses, Q-Bots, Express passes, single riders line, etc. I remember once waiting in line for Wicked Twister for 30 minutes. It was pretty entertaining seeing most guests look at the spikes and talking about the ride. There's something to be experienced while waiting in line, but I sure like to see rides with empty queues and low waits. I can get multiple rides with little wait! I don't think I would wait in line for more than an hour for any ride, though.
  2. Yep, the coaster ride itself would be difficult and expensive to change, so the theming will probably change. A rose by any other name...
  3. ^There have been several Green Lanterns and one is black. Read this! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Stewart_%28comics%29
  4. I can answer some of your questions... It's about an hour, but with L.A. traffic, it could take longer. It takes about 5 minutes. They're literally right across from each other. It's called Fastpass. You can find out more information here: http://www.allearsnet.com/dlr/tp/fastpass.htm Enjoy!
  5. I rode X back in May 2005. The best part of X: The first drop where you go down head first The worst part: Everything else! X was mighty rough. I heard the outside is a lot worse. Good thing I rode on the inside. Some kid next to me in line asked if he could ride on the outside. I guess he was a glutton for punishment!
  6. "Ware red and be seen". Just look at that picture of the Belle and Dole Whip crowd. A good story: http://www.connexion.org/newsstory.cfm?id=9929 It's weird, but in the photos, I wasn't looking or even noticing the red shirts! I guess when I think of red shirts, I think of "Star Trek!"
  7. Now, let's all get married on the Wacky Worm!
  8. From these links... http://www.buschgardens.com/bgt/sheikra-webcast-press-release.pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SheiKra ...it appears Sheikra closed on May 28 and will be down for about 3 weeks. Wikipedia says it will reopen on June 16. I would expect Sheikra to be 100% open on the 16th. If it will open any earlier is anyone's guess. It may or may not. I say watch these boards, BGA's website, and the unofficial BGA site www.bgtguide.com for further information.
  9. Imagine if TPR was flagged by the FBI as a terrorist site. Can you image our profile? "Theme Park Review -- Possible terrorist website. They have photos of roller coasters through trees, vertical loops, beer, food shots, blurry photos, photos of one Robb Alvey acting weird, pickles, Zippers, and a cute baby called KidTums. Watch this site closely!"
  10. ^If it was Gay Days, you could hardly tell!
  11. Hmmm...I wonder if the operations and maintenance offices will move into the non-Blue Man Group space in the old Nick Building? BMG seems to occupy only half the space and the Nick Building is rather large.
  12. I don't normally have trouble with heights unless I stand at the edge of a balcony. I remember going all the way to the edge of the Eifel Tower at Kings Island and I suddenly dashed back, for fear of falling.
  13. Now that's cool -- a wedding at an amusement park! I don't think I've ever seen hamburgers and hot dogs at a wedding receiption, though.
  14. Great PTR! How were the crowds at MK with the tropical storm? Crowds didn't look too bad from your photos. As for the Tiki Room at MK, I saw it once many years ago and I vowed never to return!
  15. Great photos! Too bad CTU didn't bust your ass for being a terrorist!
  16. With all the talk about Harry Potter, I wonder what will happen to my favorite "hidden" attraction at the Lost Continent, the Mystic Fountain?
  17. Here's a website I'm designing for a class. Have you heard of the parks on the main page or the coasters on the "Poll Results" page? Click on the link below and then click "Assignment One." Enjoy! http://student.fgcu.edu/rboggs/fu/fu007/
  18. If you do have to ride a train to get to one of the rides, I wonder how Universal will handle re-rides. Do you have a shortcut to do re-rides or will you have to ride the train again? I'd be interested to see how this is handled.

  20. ^If they really want a headache-inducing ride, I'm sure we can find a Vekoma SLC for them to experience. Some people on Disney forums snort too much pixie dust and have Mickey-colored glasses. Heck, they can stay at Disney. One less person in line for the Mummy!
  21. WTF? Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18948833?GT1=9951
  22. ^I can see it now at the Star Wars theme park... "Jar Jar Binks: The Ride"
  23. The boat tour as scrapped because it was boring. It was basically a 5 minute boat ride to nowhere. You saw geysers in the Africa area and a big dino in the Dinoland USA area, but that's it. The CMs did show the riders bugs like scorpions and spiders in plastic cages. You didn't see much else except for trees, rocks, and water.
  24. From looking at things and the concept art, I bet my bottom dollar that the new land will go in the area behind the Flying Unicorn. I don't really see much being re-themed in the Lost Continent, except maybe the Sindbad show. There can be a Harry Potter show. I never got into Harry Potter myself, but I'm excited to see how this land develops. How far is it until 2009?
  25. I heard rumors that Harry Potter may occupy the unused space beside the Royal Pacific Resort. There were rumors of a Lost Continent makeover, but the concept art seems to show more of a new land than a makeover.
