  1. I saw the Hall of Justice show at SFOG and boy, it was bad!
  2. I'm worth $4250!
  3. Remember to buy a bunch of Vekoma and Zamperla rides!
  4. ^^We should file him under "People who will never get laid."
  5. Wow! Source: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,291489,00.html
  6. It was open when I visted on July 29.
  7. If you need to do a park on Saturday, I would look into doing Epcot. You can hit the rides that have the biggest lines first -- Soarin', Test Track, and Mission Space. The park is big enough to spread people out. As for Universal (and the other parks, IMHO), arrive around 8 am because the gates may open at 8:30 if everything is open. IOA in particular is a park you would want to arrive early. If IOA opens at 8:30, you can do the rides on Marvel Super Hero Island (Hulk, Spider-Man, and Fearfall) before 9 am. The lines for these 3 rides tend to grow very quickly. For food at Universal, try these: IOA table service: Confscio's, Mythos (you got to have the bannana gooey cake for desert!) IOA counter service: Fire Eater's Grill, Burger Digs, Cafe 4, Enchanted Oak Terrace, Thunder Falls Terrace USF: Ritcher's, Monster Cafe
  8. Acrophobia is good unless: 1.) You're a man 2.) You hit the sudden stop at the bottom of the ride Then you will wonder if you'll ever have children.
  9. No, no, no! Don't wear your nerdy coaster t-shirts to parks! You need to wear t-shirts from these great TV shows: Star Trek Dr. Who Lord of the Rings Dungeons and Dragons Yep, you won't be nerdy with these shirts! Just kidding...wear whatever you want to parks, as long as it isn't obscene. It beats not wearing any clothes, IMHO.
  10. I went to SFOG this Saturday with a friend. The crowds weren't too bad. The rain might have scared them away. We invested in Gold Q-Bot and it was the best $85 investment we made. Our waits were mostly 5 minutes. The regular waits seemed to hover around 30-45 minutes. We used Q-Bot on Deja Vu and waited 35 minutes. Deja Vu always has a long line. And yes, before you faint, Deja Vu was running! SFOG seemed to be improving. Ride throughput could use work, but employees were friendlier on the whole and food was qctually decent. We ate at the chicken place across from Monster Plantation and it wasn't normal Six Flags slop. It actually tasted good! Oh, and we parked at the nearby Fulton Hotel (I think that's the name) for $5 and took a 5 minute walk to the park. It beats paying $15 for the Six Flags parking lot!
  11. I went to Dollywood yesterday and I was quite impressed. The park is really great. Thunderhead still runs great since I last rode it in 2004. It has speed and power, and never lets up until the brake run. Mystery Mine is a fun coaster and has theming that rivals any Disney or Universal ride.
  12. I got back from SFOG. Golitah allows fanny packs on the ride. I saw one guy put his fanny pack over the restraint and the ride ops didn't say anything about it.
  13. ^Did he try to eat it during the ride? That I would have liked to see!
  14. I'll miss you by a few days. I'm going on July 29.
  15. I thought the buffet in the front of the park was pretty decent and a good value for the money, although there was an overabundance of grease!
  16. ^I think people are annoyed by the locker price more than anything. $2 for a locker is the highest price I've ever seen.
  17. I never knew Mr. J could "go postal." He seems very mellow.
  18. Great La Ronde photos! Derek's credit whoring makes Jeff Johnston proud.
  19. BGT's lockers are 50 cents, which isn't too bad. Cedar Point's lockers were $1. You couldn't use quarters either. You had to use the change machine and get one of those dollar coins. Other Six Flags parks and other coasters at SFOG let you leave your stuff on the station or a special box near the station. Why must Golitah be any different?
  20. WDW is pretty liberal on photography and filming. I even filmed a POV of Space Mountain. The POV was pretty bad, as I got a Nightshot video of the back of a guest's head! These are the attractions where you can't take photos or videotape (that I know of): Magic Kingdom: Stitch's Great Escape Epcot: The American Adventure show, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience (I think) Disney-MGM: Inside the elevator at Tower of Terror, Anything beyond the recording studio at Rock N Roller Coaster, the behind the scenes display of the Narina movie (or pretty much any behind the scenes display) Animal Kingdom: The Nemo show used to have no photography or videotaping, but that restriction has been removed recently A Cast Member will make a very clear announcement if videotaping or photography isn't allowed. A few attractions do not allow flash photography, like Voyage of the Little Mermaid at Disney-MGM Studios. In fact, I saw a guest take a flash photo during that show and the Cast Member used her flashlight to shine an evil spotlight on the guest! Also, it's not a good idea to use your flash on dark rides like the Haunted Mansion. The ride is so dark that if you take a flash photo, you'll blind and annoy other guests. I think the Haunted Mansion has an annoucement not to take flash photos. When in doubt, ask a Cast Member!
  21. Great photos! It looks like the only coaster worth doing is the Comet. What, no beer photos?
  22. ^^Your room keys are valid from around 7 am on the day of your check-in to midnight of the day of your check-out. So you get 2 days of Universal Express access for a night's stay. I've checked in as early as 7 am and gotten my keys for Universal Express usage. The room might not be ready, though. If the room isn't ready yet, you can leave your bags with the bellhop. At around 4 pm, you can call the hotel to get your room number. The keys you got at check-in will open your room door. There's no need to obtain new keys at the front desk.
  23. If you like eating pizza on vacation, you need to order a pizza from Flipper's Pizza. It's the best pizza in Orlando! Check them out at: www.flipperspizza.com They do deliver to the onsite Universal hotels. I believe the one on Universal Blvd. is closest to Universal.
  24. ^Well, that settles it! If you're staying onsite, then you have unlimited Universal Express usage with your room key. Just flash your room key at the Team Member stationed in front of the Universal Express entrance and you're all set! Even when I stay onsite, I usually get to IOA at opening to ride the things that you can't use Universal Express: Pternandon Flyers and the front row of Fire and Ice on Dueling Dragons. Pternandon Flyers is a credit, so ride it early to avoid a ginormous line. I can usually get 3-4 front row rides on Dragons before the crowd comes in. Don't forget to eat at Mythos. I would have the tortilla soup, the BBQ chicken wrap, and the Bannana Gooey Cake. You can eat something else, but ignore my suggestions at your peril!
