  1. You want Dick Kinzel and co run a combined Six Flags/CF company? Wow, that would be the wirst scenario ever, especially if you like your local amusement parks
  2. Not a good story http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/europe/03/03/cruise.ship.wave/index.html?hpt=T2
  3. Deja Vu is just in it's yearly rehab(plus got repainted last year), same with Ninja, just got repainted 2 or 3 years ago, plus never heard of it having any problems, so would not worry about it to much
  4. THIS Website has a lot of old pictures and history about SFMM
  5. I just feel for the poor guys who had to go up there to take it down. Certainly a job I could never do
  6. Superman will be repainted in black/grey colors to make up for Batman being all blue(ish)
  7. I don't think the ride got any love (except yearly maintenance) since it opened in 1994 I like the colour, it will bring much needed new energy into this area of the park
  8. Cant wait for people asking me next summer if I already went on "that new blue coaster" in the back of the park...
  9. So sad really Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ. She was 32. A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ. We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word." 10. EXACTLY! How come only gay people make sense on this board
  11. You dont have to take down coasters(well 3 or 4 at CP are way past there lifeline), but to answer your question, YES, if they would add a theme, nice areas to relax, have good meals and all around being actually able to enjoy your stay there besides just coasters, there would be more people inside the park and actually even stay at there hotels(for a longer period of time) If you look at attendance levels for CP, they dont get more visitors when they open a 20 million record breaking ride, the level is the same. The years they dont open something "shiny" new, attendance drops. Should tell you that there strategy is not working, at least in the long run..
  12. Point though is on how much money you spent at the park to go just for rides vs the families that actually cares for the theming... EDIT (Man, you guys are fast) Cedar Point was a huge dissapointment in my book aswell. It was great to get on some rather mediocre rides, but because this park has no(and I mean NO) soul or identity so to speak, I have no desire to get back there anytime soon.
  13. They spent $10 million on the X2 refurb, Bizarro was a lot less(maybe a million) Also dissagree on the theming part, if you just plop down rides, you might aswell visit a county fair. Part of going to an amusement/themepark is to be put into another World. Nobody will be able to touch Disney, but if Six Flags continues what they started with Terminator, I certainly would encourage them to keep going that route. It makes the visit special, word of mouth will ensure that it is not a "run down park", more people will come and most importantly, have a great experience while there for each and everyone, including us "locals" who go there a lot EDIT: One Thousand Page, cue music, I want to thank my mom who put me on this earth, my dad who hates coasters and that I wanted to do the exact opposite of him that introduced me to Magic Mountain (cue, cry) Del Holland for being retired and TPR for keeping me up to date on everything that is happening at one of the most underrated parks in this World
  14. Heck, they could use the sheeps from the Animal Farm for the old "fog pits" (I know they are gone) Batman 2.0 I am ready!
  15. Maybe "fire" in the line where the police car used to be.... I am all for it!
  16. Maybe I am just a filthy, filthy person but this sounded both dirty and exciting to me
  17. I will miss the Animal Farm. News made the local paper aswell http://www.the-signal.com/news/article/21825/
  18. The Tatsu promotional video was an animation. No quick shots of S:UF
  19. Hate to tell you, but it has something to do with age aswell... I know 26 is still young, but you wont be able to do coaster marathons like when you were 18
  20. Sometimes it just works to check the official website for answers.. http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/tickets/flashpass.aspx
  21. Because we wont get a record breaker next year So Cal will be thrill deprived! Oh please! Enjoy Ohio as there is soooo much to do there when compared to Southern California
  22. How do you know it is zero themed or has no relations to pre existing attractions? Might want to enlighten us or let me guess, you just pulled that out of your A%$
  23. I had a Zippin Pippen sighting the other day, I swear! It looked a little older, but I am sure that it was Zippen Pippen! It's all a big conspiracy to make you think Zippin Pippen is gone, when in reality it is alive, well and enjoying life without the fame and fans
