1. Just tell them they are not coming back but it's OK, Prince Desmond can make room for them in his planned park next to the Big Dipper and watch their heads explode.
2. 500ft tall inverting Aquatrax Although joking aside they do seem to have a good relationship with Intamin.... Could they be the first park to get the dome ride theater from IAAPA last year or the ultra tower from this year? Both seen here: http://www.intaminworldwide.com/amusement/Simulators/tabid/110/language/de-DE/Default.aspx
3. R.I.P. David Bowie: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-35278872
4. I hope people realize I was just teasing with my anagram post hence the
5. ^ I kept getting distracted by the idiot with the selfie stick in the right of the video.
6. Maybe what did santa bring us? is a giant anagram
7. Interesting. This reminds me of two women who asked me if there was a Diary Queen in Cedar Point while waiting in line for Maverick. They seemed unconvinced when I told them I didn't think there was. There's one outside the park across from a hotel though, I remember when I went out to visit some friends I'd made in Korea, they insisted I had to visit one before I left from my only ever USA trip. I also learned on the road trip from Pennsylvania to Cedar Point that Sheetz has more candy and snack selection than most other countrie's biggest supermarkets and Amish people like to go there (and make sandwiches on the touch-screen) for birthday trips.... Although telling them when they say you speak funny that you are from England means New England apparently.
8. ^ I could be wrong but Space Fantasy is listed on the rehab list during the Cool Japan event with pretty much the exact same dates as Shrek and Sesame Street while the other 3D movies play so I'm kind of assuming that it is VR only during the event.
9. It looks like Space Fantasy WILL be open, but it'll have a VR experience going on: http://www.usj.co.jp/e/universal-cool-japan2016/ And yes, it looks like the 4D cinemas are going to be showing the Evangelion and Attack on Titan experiences again. Thanks, even though Universal is only a 2 hour plane ride away I try to time my trips carefully. Decided I may skip this year and wait for flying coaster in the end. Personally for me USJ can be quite hard to avoid the crowds if you get an unlucky day especially since the Japanese visitors can book express passes in advance but you can't from the English sites. Especially now Potterland is open, they can be gone even before opening (on our last trip one of our group made us quite late), I know my co-teachers use Korean tour sites (who go through the Japanese site) to book them the express in advance. I asked a co-worker who knows some Japanese to look on the site for me and most of the express passes were for HP + the 4 cool japan attractions. There was a regular 6 pass after a bit more looking but they were only booking until end of Jan, seems the HP little coaster has been removed so perhaps that will no longer be fastpass for Flying Dinosaur to take the 7th ticket.
10. ^ Think you timed it very nicely then. Hopefully should be a little before the spring crowds hit but late enough winter rehabs will be over.
11. I was just thinking that Hollywood Dream has both a dual loading station and a MCBR to increase capacity as well as being faster to load than a flyer and that still had long lines. It'll be interesting to see how this does on opening for lines. I've heard of 6 hours for backdrop when it opened and HP still has 3-4 hours. Has there ever been a world record for longest line recorded?
12. Do any of the flyers have MCBR's? I know they take longer to load than most coasters so is it just a case of it's not needed because the train will have already finished the circuit? Considering Backdrop can still pull in 4 hour lines and apparently passes can sell out even before opening on packed days thanks to Potterland, I dread to think how long the line would be for this one if you can't get a express pass 7.
13. Are they for overnight stays or just rental as a place to rest during park hours. Everland opened one a few years ago in the middle of the park for resting, I think it's about 70 pound rental for just the tent and around 115 I think for the package (includes snack, valet parking - so no shuttle bus needed, and a q-pass)
14. Outside holidays or lengthy refurbishments (which it had last year) Atlantis nearly always has it's maintenance day every other Monday so as long as you avoid that day you should be fine, the schedule is put up each month anyway so if you want me to check for you ahead of time on the Korean calendar which lists the attractions I can do that but the English website they have the opposite anyway (as in the calendar is under each attraction name) Personally I've always preferred Sundays over weekdays for Everland though (I've gone over it in a few TR's and the discussion thread). Word of warning though due to quite a warm winter T Express only just went down for it's annual rehab last week so it's reopening could potentially be a little bit later this year. Normally it reopens when temperatures warm up around mid-end of Feb so hopefully you will be OK. Spring can usually be the busiest period of the season (as seen by the blackout dates for the cheaper season pass: http://www.everland.com/web/everland/membership/yearly/pop.html) including weekdays so I'd assume they want it ready for the busy crowds.... not sure how late in March you are going.
15. ^ It was quite cool to watch them use a stamp on peoples phones for the phone app at the entrances! It's a circle with a giant rubber ring and some bumps to make a pattern on a dotted 5x5 square. I saw some people use the app and they stamp the phone, not sure how it works, I'm guessing the app can read which pattern the bumps make to clear the reservation when you use it.
16. Great information, I had wanted to use the app myself but it sadly isn't available in the UK app store (even though it's on even the french one) so I didn't have a chance to use it and had to use the kiosks. I'm curious since I haven't been able to find out myself yet: You say the phone app is locked at 3 choices and if you use the phone app you then can't use the kiosks, do the kiosks also have this limit? When I got a ticket out of the new kiosk it just had the old style print, next reservation available after 00:00 with some new text about duplicate reservation using phone not possible, I didn't see a limit anywhere although I was only in the park for a couple of hours. It seems like if using the app locks out the kiosk, if you're going for a full day then it's better to use the kiosk (I've managed to get through 2 fast-passes on my weekday trips before I had to leave for work at 1PM and I was only in the park 3 and a half hours and a 3rd would have been good to use at 1:30) and I think you could easily be up to maybe 4-5 passes before the park gets crowded around 4PM and maybe 1 or 2 after that especially with the park open until 10. I'd kind of assumed it was going to be similar to my magic plus when I saw 3 reservations on the app guide, in that after the 3 had been used and the time had passed you could make more, interesting to hear it's locked.
17. If you don't mind splashing out on a plane ticket, most Asian parks here are all year round.
18. An example here of one of those headsets in use in Everland (which is also owned by Samsung) It's part of the Pride of Korea section when you enter during your time-slot and there are some interactive areas before the 4D move. I've seen them slowly start appearing in the electronic stores lately. They had a test booth with them in Seoul a few months ago with T Express footage and footage from one of Everlands horror mazes.
19. Have I mentioned my love for Sundays? Sadly I couldn't join my friends on their trip yesterday but looking at the lines it was once again one of the quietest days of the week Temperatures were quite high for winter this year and it was 7 degrees Celsius yesterday when I checked the app but sadly with temperatures supposedly now going to be just above freezing,T Express is now down for it's annual rehab starting today. If past years are any indication it will probably open mid-late Feb or very early March. Due to the warm temperatures, the snow slides opened much later this year with the smaller slope opening an week or 2 ago and the bigger slope only opening recently. Since they are only there for a month or 2 they were pulling in most of the crowd with the lines hovering around 30 minutes for the smaller slope and the bigger slope for adults around 50 minutes so sadly TPR's twitter wish would only have rang true this weekend. In other news Everland made some postings about suggestions for names for their pandas, It seems the park will be inheriting 2 pandas for its exhibit: one male and one female.
20. The reality is, for the majority of those people in that crazyness...that is probably the only time they can visit due to school, job, etc. I was about to say just that and that includes my family when we plan to go to Orlando as our once in a life-time trip, there are so many places here in Asia who only grant the last week of July/first week of August and last week of December as the same 10 days vacation a year, unless I change jobs and time it between jobs, we are stuck by those school days as are a lot of families here so you just have to suck it up and bear it, which is sad since that picture could represent our one impression of USO on our visits. Then again most of our normal vacations are to places likes USJ and TDL so there's that, some of my friends would just look at that line think normal crowds and then just wonder why it moves so slowly compared to Japan.
21. That reminds me what did they do with Submissions spot when they closed the ride? I always preferred Energizer over Submission (that ride was so uncomfy) although it always seemed tamer once it became Boneshaker.
22. Since living abroad I've always just stocked up on 1-2 year old games in playstation sales for mine. Normally works out cheaper than getting them used off the markets. Never really worry about getting them new since by the time I've beaten the last games I have from the sale sitting around it's already been a year. My wife got me the limited edition Ni No Kuni brand new, since I'm a big studio Ghibli fan and I see that in sales for sometimes as low as $6. I think my last sales pick up was the resident evil series, bioshock trilogy, god of war series and a tell-tale bundle. I've also got to do the first 3 batman games that have been sitting on my download list. I think the last game I completed was revisiting one of my old favorites Okami.
23. ^ Hasn't Samurai been seeing a fair bit of down-time this year? When it was relocated the 1st time it was a lot younger in terms of it's operational life span. I just can't see the two parks swapping rides when both must be soon hitting the point where maintenance isn't worth keeping them around.
24. Am I the only one who puts Attack of the Clones as the worst of all of them? Don't get me wrong Phantom Menace is bad and of course there's Jar-Jar but there are 1 or 2 bits I like and bits I can laugh at how bad they are, I liked Darth Maul (even if he was underused) and the introduction of that battle music (Duel of the Fates) but for me Attack of the Clones is just bland and seems so pointless, outside of the Yoda fight I'm struggling with bits that stick out. I think I mentioned this ages ago in the discussion about Mako & B&M Hypers, but personally I've always found forgettable can be worse than bad. At least bad things can stick in your mind and you can laugh at them later. Forgettable is just that: Forgettable.
25. It looks thinner in the area between where it touches your thighs and the hole, considering something most people complain about on Skyrush is how tight it feels in the wing seats by the end, it'll be interesting once people have ridden both to see if it makes it better.
