  1. A safety lanyard, plus it has an overhead strap and a chin strap according to the FAQ. I wore the overhead version at Everland and even without the chinstrap and lanyard it seemed quite secure.
  2. It's in the FAQ: https://www.sixflags.com/national/special/new-2016/faq On top of that, looking at the FAQ it seems they are using the design similar to the one I posted on the previous page with the overhead strap although the ones we tried didn't have the chinstrap and lanyard, the one's in the concept art/video are Samsung's goggle style ones, probably because they look better in the art that way. And since I'm sure people will ask this question next:
  3. ^Using the Samsung Gear VR, I have a picture of it here from Everland (also owned by Samsung)
  4. ^ Yep and not only that, on top of the multiple choices you have to make with more than 1 attraction on each ticket, but it's been split 3 ways so only the first pass will include Space Fantasy the virtual reality version, the second only includes Flying Dinosaur and the 3rd is only for Backdrop. And the Harry Potter Junior coaster isn't part of the choices it's one of the stand alone of the 7 so even if you weren't interested in a kiddie coaster you can't swap that one. The 3 choices are now listed on the English site: http://www.usj.co.jp/e/ticket/ The only other option would be to buy the backdrop 7 and then buy the must-see pass (15th special) on top of that to get the other two but it's really pricey, by that point you could be ending up paying almost double the entry cost just on fast-passes depending on the day. Edit: Here's something interesting I just noticed Back to the Future has been completely removed from all the fast passes.
  5. Pandas arrive in South Korea Source Image source and more pictures
  6. That's why they made Universal Express Unlimited for the grown-ups.
  7. I didn't realize there was more than one roller-coaster named Cheetah Hunt in the world: http://rcdb.com/11626.htm
  8. I mentioned in my TR how surprised I was that you got wet on Thunder Falls when a lot of the Korean water rides I've ridden have covers (like Amazon Express) or just don't really splash (like Lotte World's rapids and flume). It could be temporary until the temperature warms up, but they've added shields to the ride over its closed period. All the pictures are one boat so it's hard to tell but it seems the rubber ring decoration has been removed from the back as well. Since it sticks out from the boat, it was rubbing against the channels last year and most of them looked chipped so that may have been a reason. Source Compared to a photo from my TR:
  9. A lot of the TR's I have read have people going weekdays early morning at opening and hopping over to the nearby water-park or doing the water park in the day and Ferrari World late evening as well. I think both parks have a fast-pass so it helps get around so quick. Also I think a lot of people who do the TR's are enthusiasts and research enough beforehand to find out what time to visit and work around the crowds. For example, I read peoples reviews about Lotte World having over 3 hour lines for rides like the gyro-swing or Comet coaster, but in almost 6 years of doing TR's for Lotte World I've never seen a wait more than a hour because I know when to avoid the park and generally do my pictures before noon when the crowds will pour in.
  10. Yep, I agree with this. "My whole family needed the bathroom for 60 minutes except me and how dare you not let them pass when they all magically show up just as I get to the station." Korean staff/park's explanation always tends to be along the lines of "Please understand our culture," even when they have signs saying it's not allowed.
  11. According to TLC twitter the Octonauts station is getting some much needed attention.
  12. And soon over at POTC the "I've got a jar of dirt" dirt from Dead Man's Chest.
  13. I'm a little bit curious, having never ridden Skyrush, and not knowing Ferrari World policies, how do you make sure you get a wing-seat on these? Is it a case of it being assigned once you're at the gate so being, 1st or 4th at the gate? I remember being in line 4th on Nemesis once and the two kids in front jumped in the 3rd and 4th seat because they didn't want to be in the middle.
  14. Source Interesting that the 1st set of pandas before were sent back. According to this article they were also kept at Everland. It's interesting because the last time panda diplomacy came up in 2013, South Korea turned down the offer due to cost. Source
  15. ^ Aquatrax's are a myth, they don't really exist.
  16. ^Interesting that this comes up today after reading HKDL made a slight loss, hopefully Shanghai don't influence the other parks too negatively if it were true.
  17. Sorry to hijack the tread but wanted to post my thoughts on the new system and didn't think a 4th thread on the subject was warranted since I didn't take any pictures to do a TR. Again it's a new system so like I said above they could still be testing and adjusting. -Used the mobile app, not the machines. Couldn't find the app on my store but thankfully my wife had a Korean Apple I.D. Only allowed 3 reservations for the whole day. - The app never once wanted to access my location like my Everland App does. OP mentioned you had to use the app in the park but I don't think that's the case since it didn't check for location once. You need to scan your ticket to reserve but I guess for season passes you could reserve before you've arrived or before gates open as long as you've picked up your ticket. - I've mentioned on my previous TR's that fast passes can run out early afternoon even on quiet days for the most popular rides but even with more rides now under fast pass, the app was insanely quick to run out. All the rides literally fell under two categories: Popular rides like Atlantis, Pharoah, Aeronauts, Comet etc. etc. that were full reservation pretty quickly after opening. All the other rides were rides that reservation pretty much at the same time as the current one but also had lines short enough that you didn't need the fast pass in the first place. Every time I clicked a popular ride it said Full Reservation after the opening hour, even at TDS you could grab an evening fast pass as a 2nd fast pass for the popular rides if you were there at opening (and sometimes a 3rd). -The OP said that Wild Wings was reservation only but it's since changed to Wild Jungle being 100% reservation only, as I said I think they are testing and adjusting and seeing what works. It seems a shame though that if you arrive at the park at opening and the popular rides are available that you have to sacrifice one of your 3 passes or can't ride at all especially since with it being reservation only it had a high allocation and seemed to match with current time even into the afternoon. At least with Everland each reservation ride is separate from each other so you can pick up tickets for each without sacrificing anything or in the case of something such as T Express they open the standby line after 3PM so you still have a chance with a regular queue at the end of the day if tickets have run out if you arrive much later after opening. -The kiosk has a different system, the old one. Scan your ticket, get only 1 fast pass and a time on which you can get your next pass. Considering how fast tickets were gone and the app not being too widely available, I think using the old system might be a huge disadvantage. You'd have to run at opening to a kiosk and get one popular ride since others would have reserved before gates open and they will go fast! Maybe it has a seperate allocation from the phone but it didn't seem like it. If it is the same as the phone, tickets will probably be gone by the second pass time comes up so choose carefully and don't be tempted to grab the reservation only ride first. On the flip slide I haven't heard anyone mention the 3 tickets a day limit on the kiosk so you could probably grab more for the quiet rides than phone users. Perhaps in the future they can have separate allocations for the two systems (if it doesn't already) or combine into 1 system and allow kiosk users to grab 3 at the same time for the day instead of 1 at a time to even the playing field.
  18. If they wanted something a little bit more than a standard log flume, I'd love to see something along the lines of Phantasialand's log ride with all that great theming. However I see Cedar Point getting a Hopkins Super flume ride similar to Everland's (I think theirs is still the newest one built) filling the void if STR disappeared. Not too heavy on the theming and they running pretty consistently with little down-time, 8 boat seater like STR so capacity would be the same and it'd be another backwards tracked ride for the park outside of Wicked Twister and uhh.... Dragster [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  19. Thought you guys might be interested with this article on the creator of Kidzania: http://www.bbc.com/news/business-35531022
  20. As long as you're getting a shorter wait though does it matter? At USJ when I've used single rider for rides like Spiderman or Space Fantasy, they are sometimes 40 minutes long but I've never had an issue with it because I'm still saving time as opposed to the 2-3 hour standby. Or if you mean the line doesn't split until the castle, doesn't Maverick at Cedar Point have a single rider line which you can only join when you literally hit the steps up to the station? Could be worse, Everland's is even more restricting in that if they are running reservation, you need a reservation ticket to ride the coaster, it's required even if you wanted to use the single rider lane when trains are going around with 5 or 6 empty seats a train.
  21. Mondays and Tuesdays in winter months, December-February. The dates are also marked on the Japanese home page and for this February every Monday and Tuesday are closed days. I went on a Saturday in February, when a lot of the other parks were too busy due to the weekend, and it was dead. Kawasemi was not only walk-on but they were weighing down cars with water cans and only opening the front and back car.
  22. And Tuesdays since you will be going in February. Kawasemi isn't on their rehab list though so apart from that it should be open. Not sure about downtown but on the way back from Tobu Zoo, I remember that Hanyashiki with Japan's oldest roller-coaster wasn't too far away from the subway line I took to Tobu. There's also one of the big touristy temples and Sky Garden around that area. Not sure about Thunder Dolphin, I didn't get a chance to ride it on my last visit, and I missed out on Joyopolis when the convenience store machine suddenly let me get a Ghibli museum ticket on my last day.
  23. I guess that explains this post in the Cedar Point thread:
  24. Wasn't Shoot the Rapids on the 2016 fastlane list a few pages back? Interesting they release that list with it on it just a few days before announcing it's leaving.
