I’m surprised people are so focused on the worlds longest part. Disney have never really been ones to go for worlds longest or first whatever. Their rides and Ip s basically sell themselves anyway. At the end of the day that worlds longest is pretty much the least interesting bit. Enthusiasts will go because it’s a new Disney ride and the public will be most interested that it’s a marvel/gotg roller coaster. -

Maybe it's just the angle of the photo but that second drop looks a little more stretched out compared to Griffon/Sheikra. -

^ That could come later. Turn the car show into a filming of an action scene with some heroes and villains and have the Guardians Tower once the hype dies away from the Avengers Coaster. I'm struggling to think of any re-theme that would make the Armaggedeon ride interesting though to re visit it. -

I once flew out, in 2011, from Korea to see some friends in Canada at Niagara and then went on to stay with some friends in Pennsylvania. They offered to drive me to Cedar Point for 2 days or we could have hit Hershey's (pre-Skyrush) or Knobels for a day instead. Under the assumption I probably wouldn't be back for a good long time to the U.S. I picked Cedar Point but every-time I check on this thread, it always makes me think I may not have made the right choice. -

I mean you should also consider tastes and trends do change over time. I always felt Japan had a much bigger balance in what new rides came out between families vs thrill rides etc. I used to say the same about Korea in my TR's, after T-Express in 2008, almost every new ride in all the parks was ones that the whole family could ride and a lot of media based rides and a few bigger ones got removed with no replacements. The only single high height restriction I saw was a zamperla disko-o and 9 years later, in 2017, E-land added an air-race and a 360 swing and now this year we've seen is a dive coaster and another 360 swing and air race. Do I agree with your opinion... No. Looking at the number of huge rides that have been installed in the last 10-20 years in Japan. But making an argument that going back further that was a trend, I maybe could see it. -

T Express will reopen on the 14th with a new event called Roller Coaster Week that runs from umm.... February 14th to March 13th. I do like the image they've picked since it's a nice callback to the old characters when T Express was new (this was the only T Express merchandise I could find when I went before I realized I'd end up living in Korea.) One of the events announced is a meet up with Jeong Jun Ha, a famous TV celebrity who has done a few eating challenges, both at Everland and recently at Magic Mountain during a trip to L.A. for the show. Am I the only one who never really cares about the name of things and more about the experience itself when I visit a park? They could rename every future RMC just the rollercoaster. At the end of the day when you take things like the experience of the ride or the theming of a ride or lack thereof, the name pretty much has the least effect out of those Even if the reason for removing is wanting to be more PC it’s pretty inconsequential in the end. How many people really stop and discuss the name in detail over the actual rides. -

I would mark it as ridden. I had the same dilemma with Flashback/Boomerang (SFOT/SFSTL). Why would you mark a coaster that you haven't actually ridden? Just because it's in a different location? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. There are plenty of things that can happen or change when a ride moves from one location to another. Case in point: Taz's Texas Tornado > Zonga or Deja Vu > Goliath. Location, settings, operations, climate, alterations in hardware... all of those things can lead to a very different ride experience. I get that you want to mark it as ridden if you've technically "ridden it" in one place, but if you haven't ridden it in it's current location, in it's current configuration, then I don't think it should be marked on the ballot. Just my thoughts on this... Age is such a huge factor as well, if I was ranking Hair Raiser based on my 1st ever ride it would have been probably my lowest B&M but much higher than it will be now, I didn't get the complaints that I'd seen about the roughness on my 1st ride since it wasn't enough to distract too much but that one drops with each future visit. Kumba, I haven't ridden in over 15 years but I get the feeling that hasn't changed too much to rank it accurately. Although not sure about Space Mountain Mission 2 since I rode that when it first opened and I hear that has changed a lot since then in rideability. -

This might be the issue in that there was so much to do on Sentosa that we passed on our first 3 day vacation on a long weekend to fit in a day in the city and a day at USS (it's not such a bad travel from Korea ) that the things we hadn't done pulled us away this time. It was also a stopover day since we opted for that to break up flights and loved our first visit to Singapore. -

I'm curious how people feel about USS. This thread hasn't seen a postfor 2 years and the park seems to be forgotten among enthusiasts. We enjoyed our visit very much years ago but we recently had the chance to go back and decided to skip USS for seeing other tourist sites which is rare for me. Posting here popped into my mind because of Battlestar and TPR's coaster poll because for a signature exclusive ride and a dueling one, I really don't know where I would rank it. It wasn't bad enough to be memorable like some rides are but it wasn't that exciting for me to remember that much. Personally, I sometimes find an- eh/ok-ish coaster is worse than a bad one because it becomes a forgettable one. We loved Mummy and, though preferring Spiderman, also really liked Transformers, but those are at most of the parks. My general policy is to just go to a park and have fun, but I really didn't feel like going for 2 rides that are mostly elsewhere. We keep talking about visiting Disney Shanghai to try out Tron and Pirates because they get us excited seeing future versions or new things of what Disney can do, but we definitely didn't feel that from the Jurassic Rapids ride and were disappointed with what Madagascar had to offer. I feel bad since I'm all for showing up and having fun at the parks we visit and this has come across quite negative, we really are glad we went the first time but I think this is the first time ever on a holiday we haven't done a re-visit to a big park nearby to go check out other tourist stuff and felt like it was a one and done for now and was curious about other peoples feelings. -

Honestly, we had planned on skipping Shanghai with trying to manage those crowds and other unpleasant reports with a baby until the paid option came up and perked our interest. Paris wasn't even mentioned for when we go back to see my parents in the U.K. until we heard they may have a paid option now. Florida is a once in a lifetime trip for us and even then it would probably be off resort, cheap places just to sleep and rent a car vacation. If there was an option for us as day guests to get some paid fast passes ahead of time, we'd definitely put that in the budget and it would make us more interested in going. Currently, our main park to vacation is Hong Kong due to the low crowds and every show, character and parade being able to just walk up and see, we find it nice to have a Disney where we don't need to arrive ahead of opening or make any sort of plan and can just stroll around for our 2 year old but we definitely want to get back to Tokyo when he is a bit older. The fast pass plus being potentially gone already for a few of the newest rides if we are just day trippers makes us worry since we can only fly on 2 of the busiest weeks since Korean schools run all year but to remove that worry would be worth the cost. -

I couldn't see Everland on there for T Express. Rolling X Train will never (and really shouldn't) crack anyone's top ten but I think T Express is quite a popular wooden coaster for the ones who've ridden it. I haven't ridden that many wooden ones since I've stuck to mostly UK parks and Asian parks but it's definitely in my top 3. -

This is not supposed to come across as backseat anything but I'm genuinely curious why they went with this I.P? I mean is the wicker man that well known? It's been mentioned here a lot about how Thirteen is wrongly marketed but it feels the same here. Are there die-hard Wicker Man fans out there that will hop a plane for this? The park built on local legends with Hex and, even if it wasn't too well received, built into their own Nemesis lore with the short-lived Sub Terra ride. The only thing I can think of is for this "world's first" with the fire and wood, but being in the section of the park called the Haunted Woods, couldn't they have built their own little story like the previous rides, have a similar structure around a flaming tree, with a more family-ish orientated horror theme and skipped on the costs of paying for an I.P. that has a 15 rating for a family ride?
