^ I know I've mentioned it numerous times in this thread already about how many there are, but between each Lotte World update it seems a new Luge park, zip line or alpine coaster opens somewhere in Korea. I was just at a mountain area with a 250m slide down the mountain and an alpine coaster. Sadly missed out on both because they make you do a training course before riding the alpine coaster and sign waivers and I wasn't prepared to wait hours for the next slot. That and I was 1kg too heavy with shoes on for the slide because I always forget some places in Asia carry 90kg or even 80kg limit for things. It sucks because the weight limit was 2kg lighter when we arrived than advertised online but I have no-one to blame but myself because I've lived in Asia long enough to know the limits are very low here but kept keeping my weight way too close to the maximum line.

The fact that just it being open is newsworthy enough on enthusiast forums still all these years later is kinda ridiculous.

I mean both Riddler/Aquaman are coming up in movies. I wouldn't put it past Six Flags to name it Riddler for 2022 for a quick promotional boost when The Batman comes out and then just change a few signs in December 2022 to Aquaman and have another tie-in boost.

^ Yep, it's a few years away but assuming Lightning Lane is here to stay we are now more convinced to treat MK as the 'park hopper park'. Especially after seeing TPR's social media posts on Lightning Lane, it seems we can just use that to get the rides we like in on some evenings, but keep the focus on the 3 parks full of unique attractions we have never tried before.

Granted, we are the huge minority, and have been stupidly privileged, but my wife and I were discussing our once in a life-time Florida trip and we're wondering whether to skip any full days at Magic Kingdom and just park hop across there in the late afternoons/evenings after doing everything we want at the other parks to see the nighttime shows. It's just we've done a lot of HK, and Tokyo trips, as well as Paris, and we'll probably do Shanghai before we do before Florida. There are a lot of rides at MK we love, but it's just the other 3 parks are all completely unique to us so we are tempted to stick around grabbing re rides there. That and we do absolutely want to try out World Showcase food as much as possible (and Yak and Yeti of course).

Even if it's dated, I will take the swinging gates opening to show you your first dinosaur as the 'Welcome to Jurassic Park' moment and theme music kicks in over floating round a corner and there's a CG aquarium anyday.

There are also people, not many, but some, who will go day one and deliberately look for anything they can complain about because they know that will probably get them more clicks than praising the system.

I've never been on it, but don't most people usually crap on this ride for some reason? I've only seen povs so can't really fully judge until I've ridden it in person, but I'm not seeing where all the hate comes from.

I really don't like Everland's new smart line system. A bunch of rides are reservation only until 2pm, but on weekends they're all snapped up instantly so you're locked out of 7-8 rides for most of the day. It's like Ride of the Resistance except it's a third of the park and you can only choose one. I assume it's a corona control thing but then why until 2pm? Hopefully it goes away considering 91% of the adult population here have got vaccinated. And since people are locked out of a bunch of rides/in a 3 hour virtual line it pushes up lines and crowds on the other rides. I get Halloween is busy but if it's for crowd control, it's not exactly working: In the spirit of fairness, Lotte World which doesn't have virtual lines does also look like this at Halloween though: Everland have announced they'll open the gates earlier and give more space to wait before the official opening of 10am for people to reserve a ride, but it just means most rides will be gone earlier. I feel lots of parks have tried virtual queues this year due to corona, but nowhere seems to have cracked the code on making it successful. T-Express is running an all day virtual line but since everything else is sold out and it's the only line left it has resulted in some big lines....

Park map has been released or at least shown up on the Korean theme park enthusiast message board. In case people comment on how few rides there are, (I think 11 total: Power Splash, Blue Fire clone, kiddie coaster, giant discovery ride, splash ride, cow themed merry go round, chairswings, set of frog hoppers, farmyard bumper cars, small children spinning ride, swan dumbo like ride) see my comments on the previous page about how Lotte would probably rather you aren't in the park all day. In a nutshell, quite often an entertainment park is part of the deal of getting permission to build your complex, and in this case the premium outlet, shopping mall and cinema are all owned by.... Not sure if they closed late enough to make the list, but what about the Ocean Park coasters: Dragon and Wild West Mine Train? Dragon closed even earlier than Wild West and with the corona closure for the first quarter of the year, not sure it saw much use for 2021.

The way it reads it seems unlike the old paper fast-pass (I only have experience with the system in Tokyo) you have to redeem your first ride before the second, so if you reserve a ride that is already booked up all the way in the evening, you're going to be locked out a while. I think as long as you use it smartly, you'll definitely get value for money and I think even only being able to fastpass 2-3 rides for that price is value for money but I'm sure there'll be people who will end up complaining.

^I dunno, looking at Velocicoaster and Beijing's Jurassic coaster, I think Orlando won there. I know they have the Jurassic version of the Spider-man ride as the main ride, but for the Mack coaster, they could have at least put some plastic dinosaurs on some of the rocks in the pit area to liven it up a little bit. I'd even settle for some of the employees as these guys: It'd be stupid, but I'd laugh and that would probably make it more memorable than what they got.

To be fair, how many times have people assumed Marineland will be closing down in the near future? Eventually somebody will post it at the right time for it to randomly end up being true.

^^ Eventually I'll get to try this park, I keep hoping Europa will eventually also get a paid fast pass option to not have to try and squeeze in more parks into an itinerary.

It looks like a place the mechanics take rides that have started to misbehave and threaten them this that is where they could end up if they don't change their ways.

^ I think due to corona a lot of people domestically haven't had a chance to try out NintendoLand and even more internationally. I think the date is timed with when they expect attendance from the hype over the existing NintendoLand area to start to tail off and being cautious over when corona dies down enough and the fall out to fade that tourism will pick up again as well.

Good. I don't want to write virtual lines off completely, but corona seems to have proved that parks haven't cracked the code yet. So far it seems you either have to try extremely early and any delay makes you miss out e.g. Resistance or reservations result in rides being sold out way before park closure e.g. when Cedar Point handed out tickets or Fallon. Due to corona, Everland has installed a tiered virtual queue system. The safari rides are virtual only until 2pm but it means on weekends, so you got to be there before opening, since they'll go as fast as Resistance boarding groups. Since the rides already sold out, that only leaves T Express, which is only a virtual line all day, so of course everyone signs up regardless of if they'll ride. Come 2pm, the safari rides open the standby lines but with T Express still the only virtual line, you have so many people signed up that the ride is declared sold out at 2pm, and you're going to have to wait until closing to ride it. I've never seen waits that high before on standby.

Even before my son was born, I would check my own harness when strapping myself into a ride, isn't that what most people do, even with a ride op also checking? The only difference now is I make sure he is fastened in before me.

To each their own, but I wouldn't let my 6 year old ride on any big ride without me. I'd rather wait longer and be able to keep a hand on his harness and check and buckle him into the ride personally and be safe than sorry. I've suffered a lot of motion sickness riding with my head sideways checking on him on some rides. Pretty sure even at 8 years old I won't be letting him go into a single-rider line and line up and ride alone either.
