  1. I just finished scanning all my on-ride captures from my past, and thought I'd share a few. ripsaw at the the knotts camp snoopy the only coaster since kumba opened my mom has been on. kumba scared her too much TTD, me and my dad. the kid in front looks like he's gonna poop. test track I would like to direct your attention to the kid in the back... me, i'm in the front
  2. My friends used to rent U-Hauls. You have to be 18 to rent one, and only 16 to drive one. They used to put mattresses in the back too. One time they got pulled over, and the cops thought they were running away, which caused a little fiasco, but other than that, yeah. U-Hauls. (This is in Florida by the by.. i'd double check that for where you're going)
  3. You took the words right out of me. I was expecting an immersion of animatronics and video interaction. And did anyone else find the "bonus" men's bathroom cut in that video creepy?
  4. Awesome job! Thanks so much for sharing! What hotel was that you stayed in?! Looks BEAUTIFUL!
  5. WOW FORT MYERS!!! That's where I live! Alright, so this park never actually finished installing the ride. It had portions never completed going inside AND outside the main building. It was a very small family coaster. They had most of the park completed, but when hurricane Charlie (or one of the many that went through in 2004) blew threw, they stopped construction. They kept trying to get their act together but kept running into different problems. I drive past the now very run-down "park" often, and saw the coaster track there about a year or two ago, but it slowly got taken down for some weird reason. The only thing left up is the rather large Go-Cart track. I'm not surprised that those guys thought that it was scrap metal, as the park itself looks abandoned for many years now. I'll be over in that part of town tomorrow afternoon, if there's still daylight, i'll try and take some pictures for you all! It's been sitting dead for many, many years now. This park was doomed from the start, if you ask me. It's fort myers: home to the newly-wed and the nearly dead, hell's waiting room, a cheap place to come for spring break (unless you're a red sox fan for spring training). I work at the only attraction people go see here in Fort Myers. It's the Edison/Ford Winter Estates. That's the only thing that could draw in a crowd around here, as we only get elderly tourists. It's a sad city i live in. I enjoy it, for the most part, but it's not a place an amusement park would thrive in. (though I am kind of proud my city got mentioned in a national sense)
  6. ^yeah, i thought about that too with the pictures and stuff, but just a little color addons would be nice. it just gets monotonous to me. the way i see it, those ugly, hard to read pages just reflect on their character. a little color never hurt anybody.
  7. what about the ability to create backgrounds, or color, and text options? something to make our profiles a little more unique and individualized? maybe just color? but i defiantly like the ideas so far, though with photos, defiantly tag rides, not people (moose stole that idea from me! ) ?! so that it could be easily found in an archive! if my ideas are too big... go ahead and ignore me! haha
  8. hmm. it seems to have the potential of being pretty cool.... kinda like Oh Canada meets Poseidon's Furry... meets twister?!?! hmm.. we'll just have to see the reviews. i hope it's good. its seems like a good revenue maker for the passing tourist.
  9. this has been one of the most fun threads to keep up with in a long time. i know i didn't comment much, as I really had no much to add, but jeeze guys... awesome job. fun fun fun. i love it when parks have fun with us... that's what it's all about right? i really gotta get my @$$ to this park soon!
  10. I agree, but will have to throw out a different point of view... Though I've never really been on Tatsu, I dont know how much competition this is going to give as this will just be a good ride with a unique marketing capability. Tatsu just seems like end-to-end thrills... where this will just be solid but special features. i don't know.. maybe it's just my take on it. i dont know if they're necessarily looking to run against them, but just be marketing sensible. (do i make sense?) maybe it's just all how you see what a good flyer should be.
  11. I was always kind of skeptical of the red track. I didn't see how a Manta Ray would ever have anything RED about it. This seems very logical, more on the ball. I think we're going to see this come out to be true. I'm just excited to be getting a new type of coaster here in Florida. I always wished for a flying coaster... my prayers are being answered (while i watch the papal mass at yankee stadium ) I have a feeling there's something else about this ride we're missing, that we just don't know about yet... but doubt it. we'll see next month. i really can't wait for 09... Orlando is going to BLOW UP from so much new coaster-fun-ness. kaboom! edit: OH... and i'm surprised there aren't more seats across... only four? kinda sad it's not 6.. or 8... maybe that will come out to hold true?
  12. krusty's eye was creepy. looked lazy. other than that... awesome to see some progress on Harry Potter. Thanks!
  13. Maybe a water coaster? or at lease some new major water flume or something of the sorts... if they're gonna replace a high capacity ride, they better add something else high capacity... and keep it with a water theme. yanno?
  14. FOALS! haha yeah! I love the songs Balloons and Hummer.
  15. You know, there is more to sexuality than just sex. The thought of having sex with a woman does not repulse me (as a matter of fact, quite the opposite. If it feels good, it feels good!) but I would never choose to have sex with a woman because I know that it would never delve deeper than just that, sex. I've tried explaining this to a friend of mine who used to have romantic feelings for me, and she kept insisting that I was bisexual and not 100% gay because I wasn't disgusting by heterosexual sex. I guess what I'm trying to say is that for me, sexuality (both homosexual and heterosexual) is defined by who you fall in love with romantically. Sorry, if this was confusing or difficult to understand...? i was just using sex as an example... it was the most obvious... sexuality.. sex.. i know there's a lot more.. i was mostly replying to people who were saying "i'm a gay guy who acts like a straight guy..." and so forth... personally. I'm the kind of guy who is into people. if i find you attractive.. i find you attractive. im not bisexual, im not straight... but i defiantly think that it's about connections with people.
  16. like i said earlier... i'm shocked how many of you there are out there who are still 14.. 15 and even 16 and know their sexual identity. I mean, I know i'm still relatively young myself, but when i was you all's age, it was RARE to hear of a full on gay person in school. don't get me wrong, there were some.. quite a few actually, but they all figured it out in college. like myself. AND the way I see sexuality... is that it's like two poles. you have straight on one end, and gay on the other... and people fall into place somewhere in between those two poles.. like i know a lot of gay guys who think it's so disgusting to even think about heterosexual sex... and the straight guys who think the same about gay sex.. then there are those straight guys who don't mind, gay guys who don't mind... and people just sorta fill in the spaces in between those two polls. I don't believe there is anybody in this world who is 100% gay and 100% straight. I got into an argument about this once, and to clarify... i'm not talking anything about the nature vs. nurture theories. whether those be true or not, you can't deny the fact that people do tend to all have different views on their sexuality, and that's just the best way i've heard it explain and can explain it myself. and back to you 15 year olds... bravo. be strong, but don't forget you're an individual... and represent yourself well, before you represent your identity... because that is the biggest downfall i see for young gay people now-a-days.
  17. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? I enjoy that the news worthy forum topics are easily available. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? getting to the rest of the forum pages. link is a tad bit too small 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I'm normally regularly viewing the page, so rarely, because i know what's going on.... for the most part 5. How often do you look at the front page? daily. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? i too didn't know this existed. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? color! bigger pictures. nothing so 'boxy'. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? maybe it's just me... but an option to always attach the signature. i've tried figuring if there was a way to do it.. maybe i'm just that computer illiterate. new smilies! just a few. not too many new ones! i love the site other wise. good job guys! edit: maybe new profile options?! i don't know what you can and can't do.. but thought i'd throw my ideas out anyway.
  18. bring this back up from the dead. absolute favorite band (for about 10 years now): Garbage Shirley Manson is the ultimate female singer (Gwen lost her edge) Honorable Mentions: -Goldfrapp -Margot & The Nuclear So and So's -Depeche Mode -Porter -Mew -Metric -Muse I flop between Alt. Rock and Indie Dance. Folk is a growing trend with me as well. And to reply to the radiohead talk: Great Band, but wish Kid A never existed. it's just a (LITTLE) bit over-rated. In Rainbows is good, but it's no OK Computer.
  19. OK.. perfect place to ask this question: i seem to remember, for some reason, like 5 years ago... maybe more... there was talk of adding a new section on the right side near the entrance, near the living seas... and there was talk about a medium sized roller coaster, and other themed rides... but i never heard about it, and barely remember what was supposed to happen... i also heard about a new country around that same time. it could have been in some crazy trippy fantasy dream... but i seem to remember this. basically, what do you know about proposed projects that never happened? p.s. AWESOME THREAD!!!!!! WOOOO!!!!!
  20. ^ mine wasn't, though i recently caught him at a gay bar singing rock lobster by the B52s.... so yeah. mine was.. weird shit. i mean it's been like 5 years since high school... and you run into one of your teachers at a gay bar... awkwardddd!!!
  21. im scared to post any comments on this thread... i might get my testicles removed...
  22. About what's going down in the year 2012, nothing. They did not have Flight Deck. So, they can't possibly foretell the future. hahahaha!!! EXACTLY!
  23. I want to reiterate this yet again, cause it's getting too religious/off no one ever predicted the end of the world. 2012 was the end of records made by many civilizations... ancient civilizations... that knew things that we just can't figure out... for example: astronomy, acoustics, TIME, space, architecture, and many many other things. this shouldn't become a religious talk... but more about how freaking fascinating the ancient cultures were! take a minute and look at the Mayan culture. They set up buildings nearly 2 football fields away where you can stand at two points, whisper something, and the second person will be able to hear you. They have buildings set up to the stars where every solstice a serpent appears along the side of the building using shadows. These groups of people knew something we don't. They were land and agriculture based people where we are more technical and industrial people. Ancient Asian cultures are all based on the body. Don't think of it as... "We're all going to die in 2012"... that's all hype set up by media... like the Y2K bug. Use this to start opening questions like: Why do so many cultures (who didn't have the ability to communicate ideas cross-cultures) all point to 2012. What is it that they know, that we don't. Let's not get silly here guys. Maybe it's just the way I see these cultures, but they're FREAKING fascinating! These were recorded LONG before stupid Nostradamus. LONG before the bible was recorded. LONG before us!
  24. just so you know.... this theory is before christianity was around..... this is an ancient religious theory. nothing to do with christ. it's the end of ancient religious records. that's all.
