  1. Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Great America was the first inverted coaster. It opened in 92. Top Gun opened the year after. Batman Top Gun Or are you all joking? This thread is hard to read...
  2. So. About that X-Works... Do you think X-Works could be a non-amusement park company that could be adding something to the B&M? Like a special effects company, or a sound company? I'm just trying to figure out a reason why they didn't put a known amusement park on the sticker.
  3. The same reason why a park buy an old SLC like Michigan's Adventure, or a Boomerang like Carowinds. It's all relative to the park's specific needs. Some parks do better with specific types of rides than others. Does that make sense? I agree with you, there are better types of designs out there, but they're not always the best option. Sadly.
  4. Well, if the pictures are "ancient", then it's a big prank on the whole coaster community. Several sites and blogs (screamscape, newsplusnotes, ect) all have reported the same thing, and source the same person sending them in. So, if these are old photos being resurfaced, it's a big joke on the whole community. Which makes me believe they're real. If they're not, wow. Just wow.
  5. Hey, hey, hey. We're not lazy!!!!!!!
  6. ^ How Depehce Mode! I love it! haha
  7. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Let this be true. I would give my left lung for a Bananarama coaster. Just imagine it, Listening to "Venus" on a coaster. That sounds like heaven to me.
  8. TPR TV: CoasterTube for Whenever You Need It! TPR TV: CoasterTube to Settle That Coaster Craving! TPR TV: CoasterTube Where You Want It, When You Want It! TPR TV: Your mom's a CoasterTube Ok, that last one's a joke.
  9. Have they had any history in just making a prototype before they build? Could this be a prototype for the RoboCoaster? B&M did say they have a new concept, maybe we'll see it soon?
  10. This is a top notch TR. That log flume looks amazing. How is that Schwarz running? Awesome TR! Bravo!
  11. I like Kumba, but since it means Roar in the African language, I think Kumba would be better suited for a cat's name. Dog's don't really 'roar'. In my opinion. I really like Corkscrew, but stay sober, don't get tempted Other wise, my vote is on Millie, Thunderbolt, or Comet. How does Batwing sound?
  12. I'm so glad you all love this show. But of corse, how could you not?!?!?! IT'S AMAZING!
  13. Ok, I'll play! It's my all time favorite picture. Thanks Robb!
  14. Behemoth, Millennium Force, and SheiKra are the only coasters to really scare the S$@* out of me on the first drop. I think Behemoth takes the cake. At night, front row. What Natalie and Brooke called "The Seat of God". The ejector time on that second hill too. HOLY COW! As far as woodies go: Ravine Flyer II has a BEAUTIFUL view, Michigan's Adventure's Shivering Timbers is great. I also loved Great America's American Eagle. But best drop on a woodie: El Toro! One other drop to throw out is Expedition Everest has a really unique drop. Not extremely thrilling, but pretty awesome!
  15. YAY! YO GABBA GABBA! Robb, I'm surprised you haven't had KidTums addicted to this yet. One of my best friends girl who is almost 4 now, watches that all the time. It's the best Kids program out there today. They get a lot of indie bands to perform on there for the kids. Shiny Toy Guns, The Shins, Mates of State, Hot Hot Heat, Jimmy Eat World, Data Rock, and the Ting Tings are just some of the bands that have been on there. I think the Ting Ting's singing Happy Birthday has been my favorite. Tings Tings sing Happy Brithday Seriously, Yo Gabba Gabba is every Indie/Scenester Parent's Best Friend. Good music, good values, and pure entertainment. For both Child and Adult (Heck, I watch it sometimes and I don't have a kid)
  16. I think it's sad sometimes how critical some enthusiasts are with their rankings. I like to think of myself a little more light-hearted, and look primarily at the overall enjoyness factor. I think a major factor that gets played into my ranking of coasters is the experience I had on that particular ride. For example, When I was on the Behemoth/Ravine Flyer II trip, when we went to Waldameer to ride Ravine Flyer II, I was very much impressed with the ride itself. When we got ERT on the ride later that night, it started to rain (and lightning), and they kept the trains running for us (which was awesomely nice of them) which made the coaster even better. Not only did it run faster, but everyone was just in good spirits and the energy that filled that station at the end was FANOMINAL! Had I gone on it just in the day, on my own, I don't know if it would rank as high on my overall list. Another example, is I got my first kiss with an old flame on the chain life on Gwazi, and that coaster will forever hold a special place in my heart. I feel like I'm one of the few people who still love the ride. I think another factor for me, is that I don't ALWAYS rate rides on their roughness. If a ride is rough, but has a FANTASTIC layout, I wont let the roughness become a factor. I don't mind a spine-altering experience if the ride is mind-blowing. Also, if the theming is amazing, I don't care how weak the ride is, I'll bump that up on my rankings. To sum up, I usually take the best ride I've had on a coaster, consider how it's being kept up, look at the layout/theme, and adjust accordingly. Rides that fall apart after opening season (cough*six flags*cough) normally get bumped down, just for depression factor.
  17. ^ or something else.. I've always said I've wanted to work in the Cat in the Hat ride. Every time I go on that ride, all I want are those damn shorts they wear. I WANT A PAIR OF THOSE SHORTS NOW! I'm kinda glad I didn't go all the way up to O-Town to go with you on such a miserable day. Though It still would have been worth it. Next time you come down, let me know earlier, and we'll change the weather for you.
  18. So, I've been searching the web trying to find internships for this summer, and have litterally looked at all possibilities. In my search for the holy grail, I stumbled upon this piece of information. Six Flags Mexico is holding auditions for a new project. Translated, in a nut shell, Six Flags Mexico is looking for young people who will bring life and excitement to a new project from the creators of "attractions like 'The Mummy', 'The Mummy Returns', Lara Croft Tomb Raider, 'Van Helsing', and others." The project is stated as being an attraction of interaction, terror, and adventure. Now, I've been trying to figure out what this could be, but it makes sense as they are getting The Dark Knight. Maybe they're putting up a new show next to the ride, or something of that sorts.
  19. It's a bit rough. It reminds me a lot of Dania Beach Hurricane. It's got the rough edge to it, but the moments of airtime make up for it. Bare in mind I rode this, about 6 years ago, but as my memory recalls that's how it went. I liked the ride, and was a pretty good addition to the park.
  20. ^^^^^^ Did anyone else laugh hysterically when the text read "Are you.. Ready to Gamble......... With Your Life?" BAHAHAHA
  21. I'm thinking from the switch backs that it's going to be vekoma... as we've seen that before on Expedition Everest and others. But it wouldn't surprise me if it were Intamin. I guess we'll just have to wait and see though.
  22. So, Ma'am, Miss Title Fairy... After debate of a title for me, I think I've found one. I would like "Natatomic's Gay Boyfriend" as that is what I was called several times over the Behemoth Trip... Somehow, it's the only way people know me anymore. haha. Sad... -Neil
  23. Oh, I just now read about the building. It will feature octopus tentacles, and the entrance will have bones and a skull. The colors are going to be a mutated scheme, with what seems to be gray's and brown's. I smell a theme.
