^ But I think we've ruled out that the photo is not actually of "The Grizzly" -
I don't know much about this program, but if you do get info or get into it, please post your experiences! --Robb

Topic locked and link deleted. It's one thing to post the link here but it's another to create multiple screen names in an effort to bump your own thread. That's a total lame-ass douchebag move. Your site either sinks or swims on it's own. Bumping your own thread to create more attention to it just makes you look pathetic. --Robb "Thread locked and accounts will be banned." Alvey

Please tell me you spoke to the PR department about more than your concerns of if you could ride the coaster or not! --Robb -

Think about from a heigh restriction point of view: 42" Big Bad Wolf 48" Loch Ness Monster 52" Apollo's Chariot 54" Alpengeist & Griffon Throw in DarKastle, Roman Rapids and Pompeii all at 42" and I think you have a pretty balanced selection of rides already for the 42" - 54" rider (about ages 6 through 11 and up.) I will say that what BGW does need is a good kids area with a kiddie coaster for the under 42" group, but as it currently stands there is a good balance of rides at the park for other age groups to where I wouldn't think many people would actually *need* to ride the kiddie coaster on their own unless they are just trying to get the credit. --Robb -

Europa Park Discussion Thread
robbalvey replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hi everyone, I did hear back from Europa Park and they did tell me that the photos taken by "Sio" were NOT permitted by anyone in the parks management and they did not arrange a tour with any park officials. At best it sounds like they may have just asked random people who were in the area if it was "ok" to take pictures, and quite honestly not all your "front line" employees are going to know how to respond to a request like that. If this was actually the case, the park should be making sure that no one is allowed access to any construction site and the front line employees should not allow this. You implied that you had permission to take these photos. But not having proper permission, this goes against our site's ToS and most other groups code of conduct. I will inform everyone here now that just going up to a random employee to ask if you can do something, especially things like walking into a construction area, taking a camera onto a coaster, going backstage for ANY reason, is *NOT* something most employees are allowed to grant access to. You may be putting yourself at risk and the employee at risk for being kicked out of the park, banned from certain groups, or have their employment terminated. For what? A bunch of photos? It's not really worth it. Sio has been banned from the site for his actions as it should be common sense that if you're going to walk into a construction site, you need to talk to the parks management. --Robb -
^ That's actually what I needed to know. Most of the videos in the TPR profile ARE bad quality because they were videos done years ago when we needed to cater to dial up speeds. I have been going back and re-uploading them and will continue to do so. What you wrote made me think you were having a problem with ALL videos. Is that the case? Are the other videos looking better (they should be). Here is an example of one of our re-uploads. Old Beech Bend Park Video: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=kentuckyrumbler[/coastertube] New Beech Bend Park Video: [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=kentuckyrumbler_hni9[/coastertube] Do you see the difference? You can't just make a statement like "I'm getting VERY low quality!" as that doesn't help us at all because that gives us NO INFORMATION! Give me details and I can either fix the problem or explain the problem. --Robb

^ Hey there Banks. It's really cool and all that you do the videos and they are really good, but, I dunno, it kind of seems like you don't post much here other than just links to your videos. We have a feature that allows you to embed your YouTube videos into a post. How about using that so it doesn't come across so "spammy" every time you post? Or maybe even uploading the videos to CoasterTube? That would at least show some support for TPR! --Robb "I appreciate the hard work, but you gotta see where I'm coming from!" Alvey -
^ No, banner is the same size as when I originally posted it. It's not going to be able to be stretched for a number of reasons, mainly due to the entire page being designed to look good on a lower resolution screen (1024x768) and any additional art that goes beyond that would require people to scroll. We wanted to avoid that. Maybe for CoasterTube 2.0 we'll work on it! --Robb
