Club TPR's Final Membership Card Design
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The card is done. No further changes will be made. Please do not suggest changes as the time for that ended with the voting process. The design is final. You can nitpick any card to death. We have already done that and landed on a design that we (Elissa and I) like and are very happy with. --Robb -
Club TPR Membership Card - VOTING!!!

Final card design has been posted: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=849092 -
Hey everyone! Elissa and I have settled on a final design for our Club TPR Membership Card. First off, I really want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who submitted designs. I'm so impressed with the amount of talent we have on this website. Please, if you are interested in helping out with any other graphic design on the site, drop me an PM or EMAIL to let me know! (And thank you to those who already have!) We have taken into consideration many things we need for the Membership Card. It's needs to be fun, professional, practical, and be a design that really carries the spirit of "Club TPR." With that being said I want to send some congrats to jcrouse, jds03, and Angry Gumball who we have either used elements of your design or inspiration of your design. It was very close between these three, n7, and rcrider as to what designs we would move forward with. But the collaboration of these designs seemed to make the most sense. And now, we present you with...the Club TPR Membership Card! Thank you to everyone for your input and help! --Robb "Now we just need to put the Club together!" Alvey

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ I hope so! Because I really do love the Legoland parks, and having one in Florida would be awesome! I just want it to succeed and not be annoying to get to. -
An Upgraded TPR Forum Coming Soon!
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Can you post a screen shot of your example? I'm not understanding what "the block colours" are. We are using the same (or very, very similar) colours to the current forum. --Robb -

robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What does this mean? -
Hey everyone! An update to TPR's Forums is coming soon and we need your help! The forum software we currently use has gone through a significant upgrade over the past 18 months and we have been waiting for a more stable version before we switched over. Well, that time is basically now, and we have a test version of the upgraded forum ready for your input! Please click the following link and login just like you normally would to the TPR Forum: http://www.themeparkreview.com/ilikefish/ NOTE! This is only a *TEST* version of the forum. Anything you post in the test version WILL BE DELETED when the final version goes live. What we need from you is the following: - Feedback on the overall operations of the upgrade. - What you like - What you don't like - Features that you use on the old version that may not be present in the new version - Cosmetic issues you have found (art, design, layout, graphics, etc) - Bugs or any other functionality issues - HELP US FIND BUGS! Do everything you can to try and BREAK the forum! - Try out all the features you normally would on TPR - posting topics, replying to topics, posting photos, posting videos, changing your avatar, changing your signature, etc. Also, posting SCREEN SHOTS of the bugs you find is also helpful! Please...HELP US FIND BUGS!!!! - Any other comments about this new upgrade that you may have. The goal here is to reap the benefits of the new version of the forum without "re-inventing the wheel." The overall experience from the old version and the new version should be very similar. Please let us know your thoughts! And please post any bugs or issues you find! Your help is greatly appreciated. --Robb

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread

I would certainly hope so. I don't see any of those old off-the-shelf rides fitting into Legoland very well. Not even the two woodies to be honest. --Robb -

^^ Agreed. It's a lot more than "a bit" it's more like "a LOT." I've done that drive down US27 enough to know that it can take anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes depending on the local traffic. I know a lot of you are "pro-Cypress Gardens" people, but let's be realistic here. If the park wasn't a pain in the ass to get to, it would still be alive today and not needing Legoland to bail them out of death. The park is in a very, VERY bad location. Anyone that tries to argue that point isn't being realistic. In order for the park to survive it needs two things to happen: 1. It needs something to make people actually want to go. 2. It needs an improved route to get there. A Legoland conversion offers the first item, but they really need to go #2 if they expect the park to be a big success. Busch Gardens is not a pain in the ass to get to! It's futher away, sure, but I've actually made it to BGT quicker than I've made it to CG from the Walt Disney World resort! Regardless, I do think this will be a good move for the park and for Florida...I just hope they can make it work. --Robb -

If Indiana Beach or Knoebel's had the Walt Disney World and the Universal and the Sea World resorts 40 miles away, it would be closed today. I'd put money on it. I don't think many of you really understand just how difficult it is to get to Winter Haven. If it wasn't difficult for people to get there, Cypress Gardens would not have been in the financial trouble it's been in for the past two decades. I will say that turning it into a Legoland is still the best chance it's ever going to get, but without a bypass or a highway I guarantee you they will continue to have some of the same challenges the park has had for twenty years. --Robb -
^ I don't think it will be that busy. It's not the busy spring break season yet and also remember that the park should have quite a few activities going on for WCB during the day. And if you end up doing the evening additional dinner then you've only got a couple of hours between morning ERT and lunch, then a couple of hours between lunch and the presentation, then a couple of hours between the presentation and dinner, then a coulpe of hours until evening ERT. --Robb

I really would like to see this work out as I love the Legoland parks and I love Florida...BUT... I would really like to see some sort of highway or bypass built to make the drive getting there from I-4 much easier. If they had said they were building this on Boardwalk & Baseball's old property...I'd be all for it...but I just can't stand that drive down to Winter Haven, and I'm sure this would turn away a lot of other tourists too. --Robb -

^ Unfortunately, the photo background won't work. But I do think we will go with his Club TPR logo. -
I don't know what the SFSTL coupon book is like, but the SFMM *used* to have some free parking and free friend admission tickets a few years ago. The coupons now are Free Friend in select days (usually days that aren't very good) and $10 friend coupons. I would check with the park to find out what kind of coupons are in the book. If there are 2 Free Parking coupons, for example, then it's worth it to spend the extra $20 to get $30 worth of free parking. If the coupons are not usefull to you at all, save the $20 and get the cheaper pas.. --Robb
