  1. The left "lady's" expression is priceless. I hope some video footage from this event surfaces eventually...
  2. Gives an entire new meaning to ride ops stappling you in your seat, doesn't it?
  3. I know I share my full name with a now passed away porn star... I've lost count how many times someone have been bothering me about that. Martin Hansen A/S, electronic installation company, stole my name too! Come on, invent something original!
  4. ^ 666 posts! Mwahaha! I just saw in the newspaper Metroexpress that the first official Rita rides was done by some famous drag queens. No kidding, I can scan it complete with a photo if anyone want to see.
  5. Wha? Does this mean I have to return my PS2 controllers to the shop? You won't get them! NEVER! On the other hand, I've heard 90% of all internationally operating japaneese newspapers are about as reliable as whoever announces the "This weeks new nukes" messages from North Korea...
  6. Just a random, (but slightly fitting in this place) question, is it normal for coaster lifts to be more noisy when they are wet? I noticed riding Vildsvinet half a year ago, when we arrived, the morning dew still hadn't quite evaporated, and the slight rain of the day before still left it moist, but not wet. It was EXTREMELY noisy. As the day went by, the sun dried it, and it became more and more silent. Anyone heard of something like that?
  7. I've been on Daemonen in sun, fog, rain, hail, snow. Name one. Hail is by far the most painfull thing I've ever experienced, why oh why did we pick the front row?
  8. Is that... Sunglasses up front? :? They look cool nevertheless, I just wish I'd be able to ride it in this lifetime... Oh well...
  9. I suppose having intensifying a rollercoaster as a part of your job is one of the perks working at marketing. I guess they just do what can be done to sell their product, which is, after all, normal behavior for parks. Regardless of any commercials, and how tame and forceless people claim it are, I'd still love to ride. It would be a quantum leap from my previous score...
  10. The Golden Tower at Christmas Market. Is is SBNO during the winter months, even though the park is open, so they rig it up with this wonder of a light system. It changes over the night, going from looking like molten metal to being more like world's largest ice tap. It cannot be captured on mere pictures. It must be experienced. A far more plain picture, this still doesn't really do justice to the real ride. It is 60 m. tall, and being in the middle of a major city really improves the feeling of height. A great ride.
  11. Since you did three, I'll do three: Numero uno: Orcas are cool. Nummer Zwei: Dog Fart Rollercoaster. What more do you want? Number three: Because we all LOVE ripoffs. Go Vekoma, you are the greatest!
  12. I've wondered about that too, and I came to the conclusion that the term originated back when flat rides was indeed, flat, as in not moveable on several axis as modern flat rides often is. Flat ride has a nice ring to it, is short, and is more or less fitting. A more fitting term would be "stationary attractions", but as you might notice, it is alot longer. 8 syllables versus 2 is a competition won before the match has started.
  13. I'd say you should have avoided the easy solution when making removing the track. It would also make more sense if you removed the supports from the picture. Otherwise good job. What is it with people and derailing coasters anyway?
  14. My first coaster this year is already in. I am looking excessively ugly, like Luke Skywalker on stesolids. That's what you get for letting someone not experienced cut your hair, and sneezing when your photograph is taken by an impatient operator! It was on Bakkens Rutsjebanen, with two double dips that just spells out airtime galore. I am anxiously awaiting Robb & Elissa's judgement of it. 8)
  15. Am I reading this wrong, or are he suggesting that school principals track students web behavior? That is not only illegal, but also completely lacking the moral that they are supposed to teach us. I'd almost say they should ban violent videogames, three or four school shootings later they'll hopefully realise that the connection between the two is loose, at best. As he openly admitted in the interview, the kid was already on the edge and other similar stimuli, like you will find in TV, books, newspapers, and other things both fictional and real, would most likely have had the same outcome in any case. I am, however, troubled that they didn't begin watching him after he attempted suicide. That is always a clear sign that something is very wrong, and that he need help. What is this coming to? I recall buying San Andreas for my PS2 back in november. When I asked if they had any copies left, the guy behind the counter looked mortified, like I was holding him at gunpoint and demanding whatever money was in the register. I am asking myself: Do I* look like I am violent, possibly dangerous? *: Guy in white shirt. Yup that's me. Good-looking, huh? *cough cough*
  16. Me like: The KMG Afterburner/Fireball. Great ride. Awesome view. People staring because I am sitting in a perfect lotus position. Ahhh... Memories... Swinging ships. Especially well-themed, over-a-lake, making-everyone-but-me-barf versions of it.
  17. If I recall right, you where also a bit too young to be there. I think the forum is almost perfect as it is, you don't want to end up like RCT2.com having some 80 subforums. Keep it Simple!
  18. Just out of curiosity, why do you hold a grudge against him? I have yet to see a reason for behaving like that. Back on topic now. I am not going to see Saw, horror movies just doesn't appeal to me. I guess I have a vivid fantasy, but really scary movies makes me see stuff for weeks!
  19. How you type that fast is beyond me... :? If I may suggest a chat system, Coastersims.com's recent overhaul of their chat uses a type of software I've never seen before, but it works perfectly, allows huge capacity and is very stable. If you are interested, you could talk to RiderMayBail about it. He seems to be the guy in charge.
  20. Shhhh! "They" might hear! It is sad to see a 17-year old being a neo-nazi. And I'd really like to know his motive, what could possibly make someone go beserk like this?
  21. The idea is that the forum owners can specify a certain value given for starting new posts, topics, polls etc. That can be something like 1 point per post, 3 points for a new topic. These points can also be deducted or awarded if the admins see it as appropriate to do so. The points are used for buying stuff in a shop on the boards. That can be everything from usernames that glow, changes color, and similar. Some places, you can also change your own member title, disable flood controls, start an on-board gangster war, make lotteries, and even make your own sub-forum. Alternative ways for earning points can be provided, for instance, quizzes or forum games. The points are often used as a symbolic currency for trading services, eg. if someone makes a signature or avatar for someone. I am absolutely clueless if phpBB have an optional store, but most of the major board software have it now. I hope that made a bit sense.
  22. I think I might be like Flashback. I might have been a good idea when I was created, but now I just stands in the corner and is only seen moving every half a year. Most people think I should just be removed and replaced with something better.
  23. I thought I was the only one who couldn't beat that level... I cheated to get to the elephant graveyard, which I never completed. Too scary!
  24. Ahhh, I just assumed it was a bit offensive since Ghost wouldn't let his kid see it. My stupid old replacement computer can't play videos, so I can't see the segment. But if the thumbnail is any indication of what is seen as acceptable... You better keep your cam down in Bonbonland.
