  1. Gröna Lund are sending in the expansion plans for building permission today and if granted will be the biggest expansion in the park's long history (just celebrated 125 years). The park has been looking at the parking lot just opposite the entrance for some time. Now they're finally sending in the plans featuring what looks to be a 35m tall B&M inverter, a 100m tall star flyer and aiming for a classic tivoli theme. The parking lot is just 8.000 square meters, Gröna Lund's size would then with 43.00sqm be about half the size of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen but Gröna Lund are pretty good at packing in a lot of stuff in a tight space. The price tag is about $65 millions. If permission granted and everything going as planned it will open on 2012-2013 season. Let's hope for the best... Gröna Lund's expansion plans
  2. Don't think those are mistakes. And now they're on the brakerun supports too... And that turn is definitely after the loop, it's the only incomplete elements left to do, the turn, brakerun and drop into the corks-thingys
  3. We need another update... Currently installing the 2nd corkscrew. EP-Fans.info I'll give them a week or two and they'll have the track complete. Now I wonder what the theming will be like other than the rocks seen in the renderings but then perhaps Iceland isn't much more than rocks
  4. Nah what we need is a major world class coaster, and this is not it But I guess it'll be fun non the less... (Yeah I don't think that high of Balder )
  5. Here's picture from another angle The view from the top of Fritt Fall
  6. The official (swedish) press release... Tranan
  7. I remember riding one of these rides at Hamburger DOM once and from what I remember it felt like we almost did flip upside down. Freaked the hell out of me as I wasn't expecting it to be such an extreme ride. One of the best rides I've been on.
  8. Fucking love this coaster, it does have some awesome airtime and is true to it's name as it really is a wild ride. Best kiddie coaster evah
  9. Mostly known for their roller coasters, Gerstlauer makes flat rides as well, or as in this case a towering ride. Not too different from a flyer this ride will let you interact with the ride with it's wings. You flip the wings and you'll rock sideways or if you flip enough, roll heads over heels. Looks good enough for a try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyP0-ng2K34
  10. In the upper position, here's some graphics that shows what happened... Graphics Oh and Liseberg has decided to scrap the ride after the damages were too severe.
  11. Liseberg had another accident this evening where a ride malfunctions. The Huss Rainbow gondola fell down on the grownd after the gear seemed to have collapsed. 36 people were on it and several injured were sent to hospital. Doesn't look good. Aftonbladet
  12. Yeah but when balanced right it's great right up there with the Huss Booster.
  13. I'm pretty sure I have seen the first rendering from an old Arrow or Vekoma site a few years ago. There was an animation of the coaster as well.
  14. That's not a slip'n slide. This is a slip'n slide forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2593764&userid=0&perpage=40&pagenumber=1 If you read the following pages he has even added some 100ft more....
  15. I've ridden a Top Spin 2 here in sweden and got around 40 flips in one ride. It was great
  16. Well, I might not spend all my money on coaster trips this or next year but I haven't forgot them totally. I was in town in other matters and thought I would take a visit to one of my favorite park. And yes it was a beautiful day for a few rides Also, cool to see your gadgets working and good luck with that nokia modification
  17. Queue for the Sky Hawk was short, re-rode it 2-3 times within a few mins.
  18. I've been on a few Screaming Swings now and I like the middle sized better where you get a longer ride cycle. Cedar Point's was a big dissapointment since it's over before it even starts. Also putting a taller version would be difficult on that location.
  19. Going to the park on 28th April, the opening day. Will be there, so if anyone wanna meet up, PM...
  20. IMO the 32 versions are the best so far but only because on SkyHawk you only get two full swings, maybe 6-8 total swings, it's over before you know it. But on the 32's you get perhaps 4-6 full swings which is what the ride is all about, huge amount of air, if you aren't stappled into your seat. Looking forward to Uppsvinget (by the way the name sucks so hard it's not even funny, c'mon Liseberg you can do better than that).
  21. Don't worry, ours can be pretty shitty too... however anything is better than BR.
  22. By trains from Gotheburg to Stockholm it takes about 3 hours (the high-speed train that is). And during summer the parks are open late into the evening.
  23. If it's like X it should make a half-half right before the brake run... Something like this... Oh yeah about the inversions... the full-full wont invert you if it rolls, as the train RSU the seats goes RSU as well...so during the middle of the full-full you should be watching backwards RSU. However i bet you're going to be so confused during this element you won't be able to tell if you're upp-side-down or not
  24. So I guess the park and Thunderbird is finally open now (wasn't the place burrowed under a meter of snow just a few weeks ago?) Picture Gallery Not sure but I think the guests are enjoying their ride...( Cred to the powerpark. Edit: Found some more pics. Nöjespark.net
