2010 was my first season without visiting a park in 5 years. I had a good excuse though.

^I should recall this since Tennessee was somewhat involved with his recruitment, but was he really that highly sought after? I know he was a highly rated QB out of high school, but looks like only 6 schools offered him last recruiting season. It just doesn't add up that Auburn would have to pay to get his services when there were so few suitors involved in his recruitment.

Thanks for sharing your Photo TR with us. May I make a suggestion that might help improve the quality of it? Try not to include pictures that are blurry or unclear as to what the content is. I understand you are trying to tell a story (for example the fog picture) but honestly when I can't tell what I am looking at in several of your photos, I quickly lose interest in the TR. You do have some nice photos in here, so just remember next time to be more selective with the photos you choose. Remember, quality over quantity! -Eric

^I agree. But I was referring more to this the history of this entire thread, not just recent events. If you were around when they first put the trims on, there was a LOT of negativity. People basically boycotting the park because of a trim. And some of those people seem to have come out of the woodwork with the track being taking down. It is just a tamed-down version of complaining this time since nothing has been confirmed yet.

After following these recent developments, I got to thinking. How many times has it been asked on here before I-305 when there would be another gigacoaster in the U.S. (or world for that matter)? I think most of the people on this board would of given their left kidney to have one within a day's drive of their house. Now, that one has finally been built again, it is amazing how quickly some of you have forgotten what a rare roller coaster that has been built here. Instead of just picking apart every possible negative aspect of the ride, why can't we all just appreciate what an amazing creation this ride is. I have not ridden this ride, so I have no dog in this fight, but PLEASE a freaking trim break or a re-profile isn't going to change the fact that we have a world-class attraction on our hands.

My initial thoughts are that the city of San Diego is trying to force the park out and rezone the area. Without knowing much of that area besides what I can see from satellite photos, it looks like there is a ton of condos/rental properties on both sides of the park. More rental properties equals more tax collection.

First off, congratulations on your pending graduation! I, too have had experience working with GIS software, so this is something that greatly interests me. Especially, when applied to one of my favorite hobbies! All of your criteria seems to be well thought out and I can't argue with any of your results so far. The only thing that really stood out here was that you didn't consider Six Flags Fiesta Texas a major park. What was your criteria in choosing that? Looking forward to seeing the final product!

If I am looking at that correctly, it appears you will have a long sweeping curve between the lift hill and the first drop. Talk about building anticipation! This ride just looks absolutely amazing!!

I think they are removing track. I have no clue beyond that.

^There hasn't been any definitive proof that they are re-profiling the ride, so lets stop discussing this like it is a done deal. So far, all they have done is remove track. That's it.

I had just watched a Discovery program that featured the Frightdome which I had never heard of, so it is kind of ironic that you posted about it. Or the time-share people still out in full force these days? At least, the card-slappers are enterntaining, those time-share guys were just annoying!

What is with people and their screwed-up geography lately?!? EPCOT is in Florida, not Wisconsin!! You might be confused by TPR's recent photos of the Wisconsin Cheese and Wine Festival, which EPCOT drew a lot of its inspiration from.
