  1. Dude! You are arguing about something that is completely off topic of what the OP was wanting. He didn't ask what roller coaster in the area should be copied, he asked what element people thought would put a wooden roller coaster over the top. We get it, you liked the Mega Zeph. The OP is looking for something that isn't just going to attract locals but something that is going to get the attention of a wider area. Hence, why he posted this on TPR and not a local fan page.
  2. I think that even if each Legoland park were exact replicas of each other they would still be popular. Don't underestimate how effective the Lego theme is to kids, not to mention how it brings out that young kid in adults. Now, the one in Florida will allow more access to people who were too far away from the west coast to make the trip.
  3. ^Wasn't this supposed to happen at Six Flags Over Georgia with Splash Water Falls? Or was that just a Screamscape rumor that never happened? I couldn't remember if it was SFOG or SFOT that was supposed to get the Aquaman retheme.
  4. Just don't do like Jon Favreau did in Swingers!
  5. I love how dramatic that promo video is and then all of sudden you see the words "Kid's Coaster 2011" fly at the screen.
  6. ^Neither of those ideas fit in with the freefall clues that were given.
  7. I think that is Hurley in that picture! Impressive pictures of the HHN mazes. The House of a 1000 Corpses maze looks aweesome!!
  8. My friend, who was a bigger Tennessee fan than I was, ended up getting married while a UT game was going on. That is how I knew he really liked her. (Or he wasn't ever going to get his way again!)
  9. ^Seriously! I don't think anyone wants to win the SEC East this year.
  10. And now let's move back to our regularly scheduled college football thread.
  11. If it is a B&M Dive Coaster it certaintly could fit in that space without a major impact to existing rides. Just look at Griffon at Busch Gardens.
  12. HHN definitely concentrates more on the theatrical side of a scare than most of your run-of-the-mill haunted houses. As a result, it is really important to go through these houses multiple times to truly appreaciate them. A lot of the scares rely on that right timing for the guest to experience it as it was meant to be presented. I was only able to do Wolfman once last year and I think I missed every single gag/scare. Therefore, I came away with a low opinion of the house, but that doesn't mean it sucked. Just bad timing for me.
  13. ^^I think I am going to need a splint by just looking at that photo!!
  14. For the Georgia Scorcher, I followed the advice of Erik Johnson and sat in the 2nd seat from the back last season. One of the best rides I have ever had on it!
  15. This is hilarous!! The amount of fries they give you at Five Guys is INSANE!!! It is like they take the largest container of fries you can get at McDonalds, fill it up to the brim, and then pour that exact amount on top of it!!
  16. Media campaign?!? Wouldn't be hilarious if this was actually more organized than the awful Save the Dipper campaign?
  17. When I read this, I completely heard Napoleon Dynamite's voice in my head.
  18. I am going to be late to work now, but it is WELL worth it to get updated on this thread. WOW!!
  19. What are the chances that with this project they could do something similar to what they are doing to the Texas Giant. But instead of just simply changing the track to steel, they could change the whole coaster to an aquatrax? They could even change the layout too!
  20. "Impulse buy" is a great way to phrase this entire situation. Except, for most people that is a new TV or car. They bought a freaking roller coaster.
  21. Hey, the Dip n Dots guy is the new WDW bus driver.
  22. I understand why the people that support this project are frustrated with the responses on this website. If you could get the support of a large site like TPR, then it would help build momentum for your project. The problem is everything about this just screams amateur. With the state of economy like is, you HAVE to present a reason for people to want to support your cause, because people just simply don't have the money to throw on every half-ass effort to preserve something. With all the facts that we have, there is no reason for anyone on this site to not be skeptical. Especially those you have experience in the industry and has seen this happen countless times in the past. For those who are behind this project, just be patient. If information is released that shows that this project has an actually chance to carry forward, then I am sure you will see more support from this site. But, simply coming on here and saying I know this guy who knows a guy, just isn't going to help your cause.
  23. Looks like I need to ride a roller coaster before I run to help with my breathing. I guess the closest one is at that Zuma Fun Center
  24. Very annoying that the event hasn't even been going on for a full week before set pieces are getting destroyed. Would someone mind explaining me some of the effects being used in the LT house either through spoiler tags or PM? I am really curious what they are doing to make this house so innovative.
  25. ^^I don't think any airline lets you reserve who gets to sit around you. I will be interested to see what kind of rates Knoxville gets from this. Southwest has always been hit of miss for me on their rates. If you HAVE to leave at a certain time/day it is usually not the best airline to fly with. However, if you are flexible with your departure/arrival times, you can usually find a good rate. (At least from my experience)
