Ferrari World Discussion Thread
ernierocker replied to Captain Jack's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The biggest disappointment I have in this ride is that there is so far away and expensive for the majority of our members to be able to ride. Which means, the ratio of pointless bitching about a ride you never have ridden will GREATLY outnumber the opinions of those who have actually ridden it. -
Update #8 - 7:20 P.M. - Mack Rides, LOTS OF FOOD, and Premier Rides! Don't forget to comment and let us know what you think of IAAPA 2010 so far!! Mack Rides! Makers of the awesome Blue Fire and TPR's favourite park in Europe, Europa Park! New water ride designs from Mack. We spoke with Roland Mack, Vice Chairman of Mack Rides. Our friend Michael from Europa was here too! It wouldn't be IAAPA without funnel cake! And of course you MUST have Dippin' Dots! OM NOM NOM! The Dippin' Dots guy says that Six Flags Great Adventure is getting a launched under water coaster for 2011. No joke! More pizza... HELLO! Kitty. If you want air hockey...IAAPA is the place for it! Premiere Rides had a car from their recently announced LSM shuttle at Trans Studio. We are told this new coaster will be similar to Mr. Freeze...but indoors! Premier Rides sold a Drifting Coaster to a park in Abu Dhabi that is currently sitting in boxes. And what is a drifting coaster? Jim will explain it in our IAAPA video coverage! And the fate of this ride? No one actually knows for sure! Some information about the Trans Studio coaster. And when you need your chain fixed, Premier are the guys you want to call!

Update #7 - 6:00 P.M. - More Food, More B&M, and the Magical Midway! PIZZA TIME!!! OM NOM NOM! B&M was back with their standard booth design. They had a Manta car showing off their local hotness! Thank you to Walter Bolliger for chatting with us for a few minutes! The Magical Midway was a little sparse this year. There was a mini- Star Flyer. Wave Loch, the makers of Flowrider had a very interesting new product to show. Here is the classic Flowrider, and they also showed off a Flowrider/Lazy River combo. S&S was showing a kiddie screamin' swing...complete with butterflies! We sort of rode... And of course they had the classic Frog Hopper. Oooh! Discounts on Zorbs!!! This was probably the most disturbing inflatable at the show! "Hello! I'm happy smile dinosaur! Please feed me some funnel cake!" Bob's Space Racers...yup!
-
Update #6 - 4:15 P.M. - Intamin, Zamperla, and Sally Coorporation! Intamin had a fantastic year! i305, Thirteen, Formula Rossa...amazing! Take that bitches!!! Hanging out with Sador Kernacs from Intamin. TPR footage at the Intamin booth! Sandor tells me there will be some changes in i305, and I'm not allowed to mention what I was told, but let me tell you the locals will not be disappointed!!! (oh who are we kidding, they'll bitch anyway!) Zamperla had lots of new and cool things to show! We rode the Happy Swing. Luna Park had a sexy display... The Air Race is like a new spin on the classic Rock-o-Plane. Sally Corp had some very interesting new dark ride technology. Scream in the Dark is a new concept where the louder you scream on the ride, the more bonus points you get! If you're scared of creepy clowns, you are going to scream a lot! Then Sally took us "behind closed doors!" Sally introduced us to a new video game/dark ride hybrid... We can't say too much about this yet, but I will say this is NOT just a "Toy Story Mania" knock off! It does some really cool things that we aren't going to give away! Sally's booth was amazing!

Update #5 - 3:10 P.M. - Martin & Vleminckx, the Gravity Group, and Food! Martin & Vleminckx had some very interesting wood coaster concepts on display. This is what they are calling the "High Five" coaster... Yes, this is exactly what it looks like and M&V say that if Shaq and Yao Ming ride, they might actually touch! And here is the ride layout. M&V are also responsible for the Zippin Pippin rebuild. And this...THIS is a launched wooden shuttle... I AM NOT KIDDING!!! They claim this hill will produce the longest, most sustained moment of airtime ever! Now this is what IAAPA is all about! The Gravity Group is showing off the Timberliner trains and FOUR wood coaster projects for 2011. Hooray! The Voyage WILL open with these in 2011! Yes, FOUR new Gravity Group woodies in 2011! NERD SHOT! Mmmmm.... MUST EAT PIZZA!!!

Update #4 - 2:00 P.M. - Gerstlauer, WhiteWater, and Maurer Rides! Gerstlauer will have a great year in 2011 with nine new projects! These little lap bar only beauties will debut on Six Flags Over Georgia's Dare Devil Dive. Holy crap!!! That IS Mega! White Water's new Flume in Flume technology will be seen in a number of parks in 2011. And it would appear that they have sold quite a few! Looking forward to this on TPR's Australia 2011 trip! The water play areas just keep getting bigger! Maurer Rides had some very cool things to show off. The 4-seated X-Car train. This...looks awesome! These might look like normal wheels....but when they spin... ...They light up the night!!! These wheels would look amazing on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit!
-
Update #3 - 12:40 P.M. - GCI and Rocky Mountain Coasters! It was time to say hello to our friends at GCI and have Chris Gray tell stories about building coasters! TPR Photos in display at GCI. And TPR video! The IAAPA bags of crap will come from GCI and each have been kissed by GCI's Joe Draves! Next stop...Rocky Mountain Coasters! We met with coaster design legend Alan Schilke of Rocky Mountain Coasters! Here is the awesome track that will make Texas Giant amazing again! Alan says the train wheels absolutely WILL go right in between those track splicers! This is their Topper Track technology. Silverwood will be replacing 2,000 feet of wood coaster track with this in 2011.

The Off-Season Survival Thread
ernierocker replied to ernierocker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What he said! All the details for the Video Scavenger Hunt will be posted on THIS thread. In fact, here are said details: - I will post it sometime Thursday night (probably after 8:00 Eastern Time) - There should be around 10-15 items to find. - If you are the first to correctly guess the location of an item, you will be eligible for the drawing. - The format of your answer should look similar to this: (Item No. 2: Robb eating Dippin Dots - @ 2:42 in video) - You can not get your name in the drawing more than once, so multiple correct answers for a username will be deleted. - I will be following the thread through the night and will quote each correct answer. So, if you see your answer has been quoted by me, you are in! - Once all the items have been found, I will use a Random Number Generator to select the winner and they will be announced Friday afternoon! I want as many people as possible to be able to participate in this scavenger hunt, so I will give plenty of warning when it will occur. However, the Facebook giveaways will be be more of the Pop Quiz variety. AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, REMEMBER TO READ THE UPDATES CAREFULLY! -

TR: Epcot Food & Wine Festival
ernierocker replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
For one thing, it is just too damn long to be around Ellen. At least, when she is on TV you can just turn her off. And the worst part, is that after you put up with her long enough to make it to the awesome dinosaurs, they have her show up in that part too! And isn't Bill Nye the Science Guy dead already?!? -

This is still a rumor, so it needs to be discussed in the rumor thread. In fact, a poster already posted about it here. Once an official announcement is made, we can start an official topic for the ride then. Thanks, -Eric -
