Vekoma Boomerang Has A Rollback?
Mind Eraser replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
bgwfreak, Hypersonic actually has brakes going UP the tower, so when the train falls down backwards, the brakes slow it. Then the brakes on the launch track do the rest. -

Elissa, I bet I would! The first time I felt the Hypersonic launch, I thought I was possibly gonna have a heart attack! I can't even imagine Dodonpa. Isn't it funny how it took S&S three coasters to figure out how to use regular trains and track? Bwahaha. "Hmm, maybe rubber tires aren't the best idea?" -kip- -

I think it's safe to say that Hypersonic rolls back at least once a day. Hypersonic has even gotten STUCK AT THE TOP. My friend caught that on video. The train somehow balanced up there. How cool would it be to be on that cycle? I love Hypersonic; Dodonpa must be killer. -kip- -

Hell yeah! Intamin bobsleds reign over stupid Mack ones! The best Intamin bobsled I've done was Screamin' Delta Demon at Opryland. It was all up in the bayou and trees. -kip- -
Worst Coaster Ever?

VerticalZero - I found that if you try and change you line of thinking about the Big One, you may like it more. Don't compare it to "Airtime Coasters", try and think of it as a massive mine train with the most wicked drop on earth. (cough Expedition Drop what who? cough) You shouldn't hate your kid because he is a retard, love him for what he is! Hehehe. -kip- -

Don't they have a Schwarzkopf train sitting in Vallejo (From when SF bought PGA's Greased Lightnin')? Or did they send that to SFoG for Mindbender? -kip- -

I think Six Flags raised the drop so that the trains had less energy/speed going through the loops. Can the loops be restored to their original configuration? Sure, anything's possible, but why would Six Flags do that? I think Six Flags is gonna scrap Zonga (I'm glad I got to ride it as Taz in SFAW!) -
What is your favorite drop ride?
Mind Eraser replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pittfall is an awesome ride, but the thing that has always bugged me about it is how some of the cars fall a lot slower than the others. It's always been that way. It's like something on the rails is creating friction, I dunno. But, yeah, it's still a great ride! Another good drop tower is Dalton Terror at Walibi Belgium. It's 250 feet tall. -kip- -

PGA's was the first big freefall. It's 224 feet. Whereas, some of the other similar ones are 227 ft (SFAW, SFGAM, PCW, SFEG). If we're talking Giant Drops, I'm gonna hafta say that my favs are Hellevator (the original) at SFKK, Tower of Doom at SFA (150 ft), and Pepsi Max Big Drop (125 ft). It seems to me that once you pass about 230 feet, they all seem the same. The exception being PKD's Drop Zone: Intamin did something with the braking system, and the car stops right above the ground. I also love creative towers like the one at Drayton. -kip- -
Other old toys/other old things we remember
Mind Eraser replied to Angry_Gumball's topic in Random, Random, Random
Anyone remember these stuffed animals that had pouches and you could roll them into their pouch and they'd turn in to a ball?? For some reason, I'm thinking they were called Popples? Please help me out here! [edit: did a Google search, and yeah, they were called Popples; but I was thinking of a similar toy that some fast food restaurant used to give out... maybe Burger King?] -kip- -

Also, don't forget to ride the Breakdance with its 10 minute cycle, and the Top Spin 2 (ask for manual ride, you'll get the sickest Top Spin ever!) -kip-

On the Cyclone, when they say to you "Wanna ride again?", that means "If you're riding again, it will be another $5" The train pulled in the station after my ride, and the bars unlocked. The guy walked up to me and asked if I wanted to ride again. I was thinking "Double ride!" WRONG. They lock the restraints down, he comes back and ask for my tickets. I said I had none, so he unlocked the train and kicked me off. Be more clear, you inbred asshole. Coney Island is a total freakshow... -kip-

I lost my little speed ticket but I think I hit 118mph, maybe 114. Either way, I did make it past 110. Yeah, what a f**king rip. It was fun and all, but THIRTY BUCKS?! I mean, I'll try pretty much anything once, but for $30, this ride just sucked. -kip-

I don't think you can fairly choose between Lake Compounce and SFNE. They couldn't be more different. Both have a particular charm, both should be experienced. I'm a little pissed at SFNE though. One, they f**ked up one of the best woodies on earth. Two, they f**ked up one of the best steel coasters on earth (aka- nasty leg restraints). Which atmosphere do you you enjoy more? The crazier, urban, fast-paced scene (SFNE) or do you like the chill atmosphere (LC)? Hope this help at all. -kip-

Pinfari Coasters
Mind Eraser replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Like I said in another thread, I love Pinfari, regardless of the fact that their steel track has been known to crack! I live near two of the best Pinfari's. First is the Blue Diamond Streak at Blue Diamond Park, in New Castle, Delaware. It's a super-sized Zyklon (Z64) with THREE-CAR TRAINS, which is rare. The first drop in the back seat in postively horrifying. Second is the ZL42 at Ocean City Pier Rides, in Ocean City, Maryland - dubbed "Looping Star". I love the layout. Oddly enough, the back car is much smoother than the front car. It's pretty too, it has purple track, white supports, and a yellow loop. OCMD Looping Star 2 OCMD Looping Star 1 -
