^But wouldn't greater acceleration in turn create more momentum/maybe a little extra speed? -

Well actually I believe that the drop angle does effect the speed, too. (Along with the drop hight) A steeper angle builds more speed. It's like the misconception that more weight equals more speed when dropped even though technically with no air resistance all matter would fall at the same speed. -

Wow, is that Corkscrew? My uncle used to tell me stories of him going there and riding it like 30 times in one day... -

I absolutely love how you made the sidewalks 'flow' with the terrain. And your style is very good! Keep it up! -
Hershey Hawaii [RCT3]

I actually think that it is a good addition for the park seeing that the last two coasters were both 'big' thrills. And it's the perfect ride for that particular spot. The only thing I could see changing is the layout. Definitely doesn't looks like your normal wild mouse coaster. But maybe that's the point, it's supposed to be abnormal! But nice addition CD5. I am like in love with this park! -
I might be the only one to think this but I actually liked SFKK. Granted the only other Six Flags park I've been to is SFMM (my home park) but I actually enjoyed SFKK. The employees were friendly, they did have some decent coasters, and the park had that friendly atmosphere. Definitely not like SFMM. But I could see this park getting sold because value wise it probably does nothing for Six Flags. I went there during the summer and it was almost completely empty. I'm not really sure how much of a profit (if any at all) Six Flags actually makes off of this park so it probably would be best for them to just sell it off. LaRonde and the Great Escape I could also see them getting rid of. But Six Flags Mexico seems like a valuable asset to the chain. After all, it's located in one of the biggest cities in the world.

So are you actually putting the park on hiatus? -

Wow, that overbank looks beautiful! Very nice placement, too. And I think the supports look fine, unlike the guys over at Atari Community who were raggin' on you for the littlest of collisions/unrealism! -

^ The site is down for now, if not permanently I guess. But there is a download link for it on Coastersims.com. (You have to be a member to view the forums, though) -
Yep, it was Ed Morgan and Karl Bacon who are credited for the design of the Matterhorn Bobsleds. They were the two founders of Arrow. But there is some conspiracy theory out there that says there was another tubular steel coaster in France that was operating before the Matterhorn was... But my top 5 would have to be: 1) Werner Stengel - Most of his coasters are exciting, intense, and just plain fun. He really perfected the heartline design and a ton of inversions. 2) Ron Toomer - His coasters may be bumpy but he created many inversions and his designs were crazy at the time. 3) Anton Schwarzkopf - One word: Loop. 4) John Wardley - Like someone stated before, he seemed to make a mediocre ride into a great one just by placement and theme. Nemesis is probably the best coaster he ever created and it feeds off of its theme. 5) B&M - So they are fabricators, but their track design is so smooth and precise that they deserve to be in the top five greats.

^We have one of those that comes every year for our annual fair, and man, those things are amazing! I have to agree, the most airtime ever! And the pod goes up so slow it really adds to the anticipation. Great trip report! Is Beech Bend right outside of Louisville? -
So after two years of on and off tinkering with this No Limits coaster, I think that it's time to post it to get a public opinion. This isn't my first NL coaster nor is it my last but it's one that I have spent many free days perfecting... So I present to you: Phoenix, an Intamin hyper with over 5764 feet of track with only one single 163 ft. lift hill. My progress: Track Work: 99% Supports: 80% Scenery: 40% 3DS: 100% Also, help with the environment is needed! It's totally messed up right now. (As you can see by the wonky looking screenshots) The environment is supposed to be like a foggy sunset, but for some reason everything came out looking a lot more orange than it was supposed to. Any feedback would be awesome as I would love to continue to improve this coaster. Link: http://www.NoLimitsDevCenter.net/p2801

^I agree. I know you were trying to go for unique and different but it was a little too unique. As stated above, the brakes in the loop were weird. First of all, you shouldn't have started them right when the car was fully upside down! Also, it was waaaay too long. The car slowed down to your desired speed with probably a hundred feet of track left before the turn. The brake run definitely needs to be shortened. Also, I didn't quite like how you added transport sections almost randomly around the track. But then again, it's your choice. So overall, it was a very good concept that was executed fairly well. It just could have been better.

If the Rockies could keep winning like they have after an 8 day layoff, then I think that they deserve to win it all. But then again, the Rockies could be up 3-0 and then the Sox win four strait... That's Boston for you. I wonder when Cleveland will ever get a sports title, though. I wish they would have gone to the World Series. The Cavs have never won the Finals, the Browns have never won the Super Bowl, and the Indians have never won the World Series. (Indians won the whole things a few times before the World Series came about, though) Cleveland is the most championship deprived city out there! But yet everyone seems to overlook that... Everyone always knew about the Boston curse and whatnot, but Cleveland, that's another story... -
Try uninstalling and reinstalling Flash... That might do it. We had the same problem.

Southern California Firestorm
MagicMountainMan replied to socalMAN123's topic in Random, Random, Random
I heard on the news lately that the three fires in Santa Clarita are supposed to be joining together sometime within the next 24 hours... And they are heading towards the Ventura County/Simi area. So for all of you that are worried about Magic Mountain, it's in the clear for now. The fire I believe burned away from it. But I'm over in Newbury Park (Thousand Oaks) and yesterday the smoke and ash was terrible from the fires. Today it actually wasn't bad, though. Now that doesn't mean that the fires are getting better, it probably just means that the winds have changed course. I hope all of you in Valencia/Santa Clarita are safe... I know what it's like to have a fire burning literally in your backyard. Probably one of the scariest things that has ever happened to me. (My house is 3 streets away from Mt. Boney, part of the Santa Monica Mountain Range) -
Why did they do that?
MagicMountainMan replied to Fallen Heretic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I totally agree... I know that the T bars had their issues, but I got my thighs killed on Maverick and Rita! I was dreading the airtime hill on Maverick. Now THAT'S wrong! You've got to love Revolution... The OTSRs suck and when it pulls into the station, it must go 3 feet more than it's supposed to! The ride ops always say, "Now take one giant step to the right and board." Magic Mountain killed Revolution. -
I hope they don't remove Deja Vu. It's one of those rides that always has a line. (Meaning it's either popular or it has horrible capacity... ) I do think that they will announce at least something for Magic Mountain, even if it is only a refurb of the trams... It would really hurt them not to announce anything because that's what drives their attendance, and no amount of wishing is going to change that soon. As for Magic Mountain trying to be more family oriented, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Think about it, even if they do put in a Tomas Town, what family with a few little kids is going to go to Magic Mountain? The admission alone is only a little cheaper than Disneyland... I don't think that adding another kiddie land will help them much. Granted, it might help a little, but not much. I think a better draw would be to just use the money to spruce up the park... (Although the downside is that it's not marketable) One question, what happened to those millions that were supposed to have gone to Magic Mountain for improvements? The X trains couldn't have cost that much...
